| I purchased Season 1 of Heroes on DVD on it's release day. I finally watched the last episode this evening. It's more blood than I can usually stomach, but the storyline is so spectacular. I just find myself looking away from the tv quite often. I'm having the urge right now to book a hotel room in a nearby city. I just want to pamper myself in a presidential suite while I'm soaking the night away in an in-room hot tub. Is that such a crazy idea? My appointment with the rheumatologist is coming up on Tuesday. I hear it's going to be a fun two hours of blood tests, x-rays, and discussion with the doctor. Hopefully when all is done, I can receive some better treatment for my arthritis. | | |
| It's time for my annual September update! I'm excited that it's time for the new tv season start. I'm looking forward to watch new episodes of Prison Break, Desperate Housewives, Beauty and the Geek, The Office and How I Met Your Mother. I've been watching more and more of the Travel Channel lately. It may be because I'm determined to have a January vacation this next year. Although I'm bound to a phone track with US Cellular for the next 18 months and have been anti-iPod (I own a Creative ZEN Vision:M), I have to daily convince myself not to purchase an iPhone. It's nearly October, and that means it's almost time to play Monopoly at McDonald's. Hopefully we'll see another year of Best Buy Bucks. The recent fall weather has been nice. It's pleasant to not have the air conditioner running 24 hours a day. To be continued..... | | |
| The Flood I never ever imagined Coffeyville would be declared a federal disaster are, but it has been. The town is now filled with folks from the EPA, FEMA, and other relief workers. We've been all over the news, thanks to a 42,000 gallon oil leak. It's merely an inconvenience to me. I'll lose a handful of hours at work this week. When I do return to work, I'll have to find another quick stop to get my morning Pepsi from. I wish I could say that was true for everybody else, but hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people here have so much uncertainty in their life right now. They don't know where they're going to be living or know how much aid they will be receiving. Life will return to normal for many of us within the next couple of days, but the rest need our help. One way to help is by donating to the Red Cross. You can easily do so by donating online at their website and designating the funds for the Coffeyville flood.

| Money Money Money..... MoneyThe Apprentice returned to television this week. It just didn't return, it came back as The Apprentice Los Angeles! The opening segment with Donald Trump driving around L.A. was so well thought out that it reminded me of a Saturday Night Live. Even though the show's ratings have dropped in the last few years, the producers have refused to resort to stupid gimmicks! The losing team on each project has to rough it outside every night in the harsh Mediterranean climate of L.A. until they can win. They don't even get to eat with real plates! They have to use paper plates. That will teach them not to lose.
I was able to have a sneak peak of an upcoming episode. Frank, the losing project manager who escaped his firing, was again in the boardroom with The Donald. Here's what took place: Trump: "Frank, why are you so stupid looking?"
Frank: "You are a great business man Mr. Trump. I hope to be as good looking as you are."
Trump: "Why would you say that? Everyone knows my wife married me from money."
Frank: "Sorry sir - I am just try to be straight up you know. That is the kind of guy I am. Can I smell your sock please Mr. Trump?"
Ivanka: "He doesn't like that. He does like it when you whisper in his ear though"
Remember, you read it here first! By way of Madden 07, I've been transferring my physical football talent to online football talent by way of Xbox Live. If you're brave enough to face me, my gamertag is Pivetplex. I must warn you, I'm a big threat when my opponents' mothers make them quit and force them to clean their rooms, do their homework, or take out the garbage. | | |
