  • hidden treasure

so i was bored today. a long lazy sunday. just how i like it. so i decided to explore the garage. why you ask? i dunno... but i knew that my dad had "put away" some of my college things in the garage. even tho, when i moved back - all my things were organized in closed bins - he just had to take everything out and start packing it within hidden corners of the garage.

so i found some interesting things: old art display cases that i used for a project, a silver ikea bin filled with cd cases, tapes, old cell phone covers, random shit like that.

but the things i found that made me smile in glee were my old posters. over the years in college... people have given me posters or wall scrolls that never got the chance to grace my wall. so i looked thru them. lo and behold i found a prince of tennis scroll, a vin deisel poster from man apart, orlando bloom posters [one when he was legolas and one from pirates. im pretty sure that i have baucas to thank for all these wonderful posters. i couldnt let it rot in the garage so i brought them to my room to rot in the corner by my desk. haha... ok ok. maybe ill start to finally put them up on my wall.

another thing i found was a poster. it read.

"give them the mitzi face :P" - anon. sr.

it wasnt in my handwriting so i wondered who made it? then i realized it was made for the halls in the bren for PCN. a random poster made by the pubs who i believe were karla and alfredo back in that time. it made me smile. real big. flashbacks of senior suite immediately flickered thru my memory. the question is... who gave them this quote? if you ask me. it sounds like the words from jaz's mouth. it totally sounds like something she would say. either her or russ. but i could be wrong. so my sexy seniors from the past. if you happen to recall saying these words - please let me know who you are. because i remember laughing when i saw it on the halls and i laughed once again when i saw it in my garage.

p.s. yesterday. i forgot i was 24 years old. i seriously thought i was 23. it took my brother to convince me that i was 24. damm. that's a sign of oldness if i ever did need one. what happened to my 23rd year? i swear i dont remember it. haha. oh wait... i was in china. i think if we have birthdays outside of america... it shouldnt count. damm that means im turning 25 this year. aigoooooooooo.

  • deal or no deal

okay... so i just had dinner with my parents downstairs. while it is fresh in my mind... i wanna tell this story.

it was a rare night in the mountains of valley view. rare in the fact that i was actually sitting down and eating dinner with my parents versus eating up in my room or eaten earlier. rare in also the fact they they didnt have TFC on like they usually do and was watching good ol' american reality shows. this being deal or no deal.

i havent really watched this show so my dad was explaining to me that basically in the beginning of the show - the contestant picks a suitcase out of i dunno how many [atleast 23 cause that was the highest # left when i was watching the show] in the hopes that 1 million dollars is in it. then he begins to eliminate the other suitcases [the suitcases contained 10 bucks to 1 million, obviously you hope you dont pick the 1 million suitecase because youre hoping that the suitcase you picked has it]. in between all this eliminating, the banker makes offers or "deals" to give you so and so much money if you stop playing the game.

so fast forward. this dude... had #17 as his suitecase, he had about 5 suitcases left to eliminate with the 750,000 and 1 million dollar suitcase still out in the open [meaning his #17 suitecase could have those moolas in there]. so he picks the 5th suitecase and he finds out that its the 1 million dollar suitecase. but hey its cool the 750,000 is still there so he "no deals" with the banker. the four suitcases left are numbers 5, 20, 22 and 23 [and his #17]. the possible amounts of money in them are 750,000, 75,000, 1,000, 25 and 10. [ok im not sure if im gonna match up the money with the right amount but forsure the last 3 suitecases i remember]

as we're watching the show... my gut is telling me its number 5. number 5 has the money! and i straight up tell my mother... mom... its freaking number 5. so the banker offers him 140 something thousand dollars. and he was like hell no. so he goes on and picks number 23 which was a good choice because it was 25 bucks. pfft... totally called it. they would not put 1 million dollars in number 23 because my theory is that 23 is jordan's number and hella boys would pick that suitecase and end up with 1 million dollars. which would totally bring the deal or no deal show to bankruptcy.

then he picks suitecase 22 which had 10. "phew" right?

anyway, the banker makes a deal of 190 something thousand dollars. all his family is telling him to start thinking about it and blah blah. that he took the one last risk he wanted on the last suitecase. one more chance. one more risk. cause he was all talking before how his grandma is watching over him during this show and how the audience feels like a family and that he feels something special happening. blah blah.

so finally he made a deal with the banker and is leaving the show with 190 something thousand dollars. so, ending of the show... 3 suitecases - numbers 17 [which he had], 5 and 20. each one chancing on either having 75000, 7500 or 1000. so he tells the hosts, my next pick was gonna be 20 and then when it came down to it... i would have switched my 17 suitecase with the number 5. thus, he would have ended up with number 5 [ahem, as i said my gut was on 5]. so the host says.. ok let's see what would have happened. so they open up 20 and lo and behold it was 1000. and so the host is like.. ok, you would have switched for 5 - this could have been what you could have won.

and i dont have to tell you what was in the suitecase.

    number 5 = $750,000
    .

    that fool.

i start screaming at my mom...

MOMMMMM SEEE WHAT DID I TELL YOU. IT WAS GONNA BE NUMBER 5. I FELT IT IN MY GUT. "pounds stomach here"

my mom starts cracking up and coughing and had to drink some water cause it was so funny how irrita i was that the fool didnt go with his gut and kept going with number 5.

seriously people seriously. dont doubt mitzi when shes feeling like a lucky bitch cause seriously... youll regret it. 5 and 55 people. those are the golden numbers. did i not tell you about the time i went with my mother to play bingo all random like and for the first time. i told my mom that night, let's go mom... i feel lucky. and lo and behold i played bingo and won with a card that had called the number 55 on it and i won $500.

and then... this reminds me of the time we went on a cruise and i shoulda never listened to vijay. i was playing roulette and i always put 2 dollars on 5. lo and behold, 5 came up and my 2 dollars became $70. now with my $70 and the other chips i had... i was up $98 dollars. plus my $2 dollars that was still on 5, i was up a bill. so i was like should i keep going? and vijay was like stop no mitzi stop no. but i was feeling lucky but i also didnt want to push my luck and hell being up a bill was good enough to me. so i stop and pull my 2 bucks off the 5. and guess what number rolled in next. a freaking 5. thank you vijay. thank you. i will always remember how your back looked like when you made a run for the door after seeing what number popped up next.

    moral of the story?
    trust in mitzi
[specially when she's feeling like a lucky bitch].
    trust in the 5.
