I could get used to this!

It's hard for me to pick one standout twins player for these past couple of series, so I picked a few that deserve some recongnition.

First off, our beloved K pitchers. They make winning as easy as 1..2..3..BACK TO THE BENCH!

Francisco Liriano

and

Johan Santana

Of course I have got to mention two players swinging very hot, powerful bats. Together they account for 7 of the 9 homers on the streak.

Jason (i like to call him Jim) Kubel... stop drop and roll baby, you's on fire! 4 homeruns in the past 5 games... like whoa?

and

Justin Morneau... 3 home runs, eh??

I have to place Mike Redmond into my "honor roll" for the work he did today against the Pirates. Getting a close tag at home, and having good, solid, run producing at-bats.

yeah mikey!

And who could forget, our standout, record breaking, league/majors batting leader, all-star catcher JOE MAUER!!!

Joe's at-bat song is "What you know" by TI, the self-proclaimed King of Rap, and when he walks up to plate you know that the new King of Baseball has arrived.

All hail king Mauer!!!!! Joe, you are so kind to us!

That reminds me... make sure you vote for Joe and all your other favorite Twins for the 2006 All-Star Game. We all know he deserves to be there, but as of now is down in the vote.

Jason Bartlett has FINALLY been called up from Rochester and starts at short stop tonight against the Red Sox.

OK! Now on to the other exciting Twins news: YESTERDAY GAME WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday's game was a beautiful match up against two of the best pitchers in the American League, possibly all of the majors.

Santana VS. Schilling

Both are very good K pitchers, so we knew it was going to be a close, low scoring game.

Johan Santana pitched wonderful, racking up a total of 13 strikeouts surpasing 1,000 career k's.

The score was 0, 0 until the top of the 7th with a 2 out Boston homer.
CRAP!!!! But no worries.... Cuddyer answers in the bottom with another homer, his 10th of the year.

The score remained 1,1 until the top of the 12th and with 1 out, chances of a Twin's comback looked slim.

Enter Jason Kubel.
Bases loaded.
Full count.
GRAND SLAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

I screamed sooooooo incredibly loud, and proceded to run around the living room screaming excessive chants and roots.

After Kubel's homer, Twins commentater Dick Bremer said:

YEAH BABY!!!!! This is what I'm talking about!!!!

Liriano pitched 7 amazing shutout innings enroute to a win this afternoon. But thats not the whole story. Justin Morneau's bat was burning! After Gardy got ejected in the 4th, Morneau answered with a two run homer.

Awe shucks Brad, you make one good start and the boys cannot back you up.

Ol' Bradke did pitch very nicely last night, but he's needs more excellent starts before he can have pouting rights.

"I felt pretty good today," Radke said. "Good changeup, good fastball ... just no luck."

After he had done his job, Radke skipped the dugout and went straight to the clubhouse. You could practically see steam rising from his head.

This game could have been a lot better, if Batista wasn't lazy and taking naps on 2nd base. We could of used that run, buddy.

I'm just happy our pitching is getting better

Scott Baker still needs to come back

Hmmm, who to pick for TOG. Radke or Morneau? Radke pitched amazing, Morneau scored the only run... BUT Morneau also made some faulty defensive plays... soooooo

Ok, so we knew the Twins would stuggle offensivly against Zito, but the thought of a shutout never crossed my ignorant brain!

Now, let's not be too harsh...Yes, Lil' Boofie gave up 5 earned runs, 3 of them homers... but still pitched quite amazing.

"I made some bad pitches and they drove them out of the park -- that's why they are big-league hitters," Bonser said. "But I think for me, it was a step in the right direction from my other outings."

No walks in this game for Boofie, 5k's, and a total of 94 pitches.
Not bad.

Thats why Bonser is my TOG (Twins player of the game)

After all, the offense didn't do much last night

Tonight is the second game against Oakland.

OK! So what is with Scott Baker getting sent down to Rochester! I just about cryed when I found out!
Scotty makes ONE bad start and get's demoted??? WTF! Why don't they send Radke down? He has been the definition of inconsistant pitching this WHOLE SEASON!!!!

I am truly disappointed

bonser vs. zito

Twins open their series agaisnt Oakland tonight, marking the first big test for young starter Boof Bonser. Lil' Boofie will go against Barry Zito, who's coming off an AMAZING May with only 6 earned runs in 41 innings... the man's an animal.

buuuuuuuttttt, Boofie hasn't been preforming bad either. kind of

All he needs to do is: start out strong, keep his fastball under control and low, and pray for his boys to score some runs.

So Bonsss, here is a slap on the ass and a crossing of my fingers. Show Zito what your made off.
