THE LAST POST (of 2005)well guys, as we approach the new year, i figure it's time for my (now) annual recap of all things important. This may end up being a long post, so you've been forewarned.
but first, at alex's suggestion, i'll include a couple resolutions for the new year.
i would say i'd try to be less arrogant, but there's really no point in making a resolution i'll probably break at 12:01
i can def. try to be a nicer person, especially when i talk about freshmen. hopefully they'll make a resolution to be less stupid. i'm going to learn to cook too. if i get into MIT, i'll have a kitchen in my suite, so why not practice just in case those crazy engineers up in cambridge decide to take me? speaking of college, i resolve to get in somewhere. that is not maryland. i must beat metroid with alex, and hopefully get to work on metroid 2. i will improve my skillz at mario tennis, which is a requisite for any college. and last, but not least, i will get into WoW, following the weinberg doctrine that games > girls.
now for the year in review.
January: continued with the onslaught of US History work. remember those days? a stellar idea to share work with matt continued to allow me to game though, so no worries. played in an excellent peabody concert (matt's been whistling the tunes ever since)
February: All State 2005, which may have been my last. As usual, the concert was quite something, especially with Richard in his rightful place as concertmaster. oh, and i REAMED matt in the AMC's.
March: The NHSMUN madness repeated itself for the third time. A few highlights:
Dan coming back from his crisis to find matt sprawled on the bed. Matt still doesn't like to talk about it. (jk)
The hott lesbian redhead chair (adi lang knows)
The delegation of Taiwan, as represented in SOCHUM
Munaf aka munizzle and the pina colada --> The origins of the phrase "Aggressive Drunk"
Serendipity = good dessert.
April: Ah, the traditional AP cram month. Believe it or not, i studied for AP tests in April
May: took a bunch of ap tests, zomgwtfpwnt them all. had to miss the second peabody concert for matt's birthday party, which was quite some fun. then it was off to milwaukee for four days of cheese, sausage (brats in particular), and being bored out of our minds. Scrabble at 2 in the morning is nice tho. Candyland isn't.
June: finished another horrifically long year of school. picked up tennis again. learned how to wash test tubes at NIH. made a fool of myself in the lab while getting paid like $10 an hour.
July: made some DNA after A LOT of trial and error. probably wasted like $2000 in lab supplies. still got paid $10 an hour. without apush work to do, could not find meaning in life.
August: where'd that summer break go? started procrastinating on college apps, started practicing violin again, ate a lot of snoasis. Went back to physics for a stellar second year
September: realized that I hate freshmen.
October: continued procrastinating on those college apps. partook in the tradition that is now known to pikesville as Breakfast Buffet Monday. used 90 minutes a day in bio to improve my pocket tanks skills. stopped being a noob in dota. realized the uselessness of letsch's class (read: stopped reading the outside reading books). practiced some more violin. went to wash u, had quite a good time there. had a really good time at homecoming too, and after it.
November: sent out a couple apps, kept procrastinating on the rest. all state audition, IA taping, both went pretty well. enjoyed harry potter!
December: turned 17, applied to college, applied to college for matt, deferred by harvard , and currently enjoying winter break.
So, as 2005 winds down, i'd like to wish everyone who's made a difference to me an excellent new year in the hopes that the year i go off to college is the best yet. |
