And on that note, UBC = Done!

I think looking back my Hat was too small for my head!  I was trying to point at the mountains.  Can you see how happy I am.

Top 2 Questions that I get asked after I graduated.
1) What are you going to do now?
A: Wake up between noon and 1, watch channel 47 (TBS) then nap at 4ish till dinner time.  Then go out and come back and sleep. Repeat.

2) Aren't you going to get a job with your degree?
A: Simple answer: It's so much work
Honest answer: I'm just lazy and enjoying the chance to relax.
Nostalgic note - It seems like the time I was able to enjoy a summer vacation was in the summer going from Grade 12 transitioning to University.

Regionals 2007

Pre-Regionals Pictures from the night before of Geoff demolishing the $11 JD burger at Cactus Club

Now On-to the day of Regionals

Round 1
vs Dion (from Williams Lake)
Game 1
Played against a UW control deck that ran Akroma, Angel of Wrath and Loxondon Warhammer.  Essentially, this deck just ran counters and Aeon Cronicoler and Sera Avenger as additional targets for Loxondon Warhammer.  It was essentially playing a t2 Martyr, of Sands and beating down slowly for game one and eventually a resolved Seering Mediation opened the door to cast Firemane Angel that was obviously countered but with Angel in the graveyard during upkeep I was able to take his life slowly down along with a Skeletal Vampire.

Game 2
His Turn 2 he played COP Red then telling me that he was worried about my Skeletal Vampire but then on my turn 2 I castigated him and noticed no counters for my t3 Totem.  So, t3 I dropped a Totem and 4 turns later he was dead.  He said that he removed his only out "repeal" from the first game after noticing they were dead cards.
2-0

Round 2
vs Dave Rogers (Glittering Wish Control)
Going into the game I  know what kind of person he was, specifically how he would not let a player take back misplays in a big event.  Yet, himself asking an opponent if he would be allowed to take back actions of own play errors, which is what happened.  I won the die roll and went land go, he played OG Tomb and passed the turn.  I played another dual tapped because I was unable to play anything said go.  He played forest and tapped his lands and said castigate then took a second to notice that he didn't have the correct mana to play it after I didn't show my hand and glanced at his mana.  I don't know if this was an intention play on his part thinking I was a newb and would automatically just show him my hand. After, he quickly passed his turn.  My turn, still just sitting there building up my mana played land and said go.  So, his t3 he played wall of roots, t4 he tried to pull stuff, tap 2 to play wall of roots, remove a counter off roots and tap the land he just played announcing to play something then said, "oh wait can I take that back" I replied, "no" and we called a judge. Judge said b/c they fix the state bla bla bla he can take it back if it's a spell he can't play but he has to reveal it so he showed me castigate b/c he didn't have the right mana for it. Later on Firemane Angel found it's way to the bin and I forgot to Add 1 life to my life total after immediately looking at my drawn card and he said, "well it said on the text, "you may" so you don't get the life." then, he followed up with a comment, "You didn't let me take stuff back so nor will I."  Then I said, "now that was a jerkish comment." Eventually, I got him down to 4 life and he got me down to 4 life and my misplay was that I was holding a land, listening to the advice of Andrew in case he had castigate but then I realized I should have played that land because I was sitting on 9 mana and I was 1 turn away from bringing back Firemane Angel in the bin to deal him the final 4 points of damage.  He on this one b/c I was 1 turn too late from bringing back Firemane. But the point is that I could have if I had just played the land!

Game 2
Tech came in handy
Quickly to the point: I had Akroma, Angel of Wrath swung in for 6 when I had 8 Mana he actually did the castigate persecute thing and cleared my hand but I had 2 Phryxian Arenas in play. He dealt with the Akroma with a 11 mana "Punishment" and with the 2 Arena's I get a Zombify to bring back my Akroma and dropped a land giving my Akroma Double strike FTW~~ That was HOT!!!! sunhome was already in play so didn't top deck that.  Time was called and we just agreed to tie.  I could have taken 2-0 but I would have to settle for a draw.
record now 1- 0 - 1

Round 3
vs Tony (Mono U Pickles)
Game 1
Eventually, I got Brine Locked which sucked

Game 2
Agroed me with morphs and too much counters.
0-2
record now 1-1-1

Round 4
vs Henry  (sliver BWR  boros)
Game 1
He got me down to 5 Life but I kept gaining life from a firemane angel in the bin and Seering Mediation wiped out his army when firemane hit the bin.  Henry just ran out of gas and couldn't deal with an Akroma, of Wrath

Game 2
I got out an early story circle naming white for his sinew slivers and eventually COP Red hit the board.  Henry was stuck on sulfurious springs and battlefield forge for the longest time and kept taking burn with his pain lands and I would just kill them off with lighting helix.  He stayed alive by seeking my 2 Akroma's out but that was until my skeletal vampire took it all the way and an Akroma doesn't hurt either for a 11 point damage swing.
2-0
record 2-1-1

Round 5
vs Greg Lee - Henry's Cousin (BR Discard)
Game 1
kept gaining life with martyr of sands eventually I had 3 in the bin and with his discard I was finding it difficult to play the higher casting stuff.  I kept gaining life but it wasn't enough to race a duthi slayer and the rack.
SB mistake +2 cop red. Why? Because I saw Graven Carans and I thought he would play with Magnivore.  I must admit I did take advantage of him on this one play.  He had a rack out and a Dauthi Slayer, I had played a martyr of ashes with 1 card in hand leaving 2 lands untaped to play martyrs ability (bluff).  He tapped his mana for 1 thinking so, having played his deck before it's obviously a funeral charm, I didn't want him to take the card in my hand because I needed it to make my next play so I quickly reached out at the matyr of ashes making him think that would be the best play in this situation and he looked at my hand moments and I guess he knew I wasn't going to sack it because I didn't touch my lands so he targeted the matyr.  IMO his best play would be to charm me allowing his dauthi to swing for 2 and then the rack will hit me for 3 on upkeep.

Game 2
Had story circle + cop red in opening hand - so I kept. His T1 he drops OG tomb. Take a moment what would you think if they were playing BR discard and you see OG Tomb.  I thought it was there for krosan grips specifically enchantment removal. T2 quickly drop the cop red. His t3 he stupored me luckily he didn't hit the story circle. Next turn couldn't draw land! So he stupored me again! he again missed my story circle. I finally draw a land and quickly play the story circle.  This whole entire time awaiting to play story circle I was thinking that he could have green creatures like should I name green and take that risk. But I named Black expecting Big Black Creatures and that the green splash was for enchantment removal.  I was wrong.  He turn 5 played a Quagnoth. I should of went with gut feelings and named Green!
0-2
record now 2-2-1

Round 6
vs Eric Le (Wildfire Annex)
Game 1
Difficult match up! his vsn was janky.  He T3 Annexed my Blood Crypt.  I “seeked” him and he didn't play with copy enchantments or dream leashes he did have a 1 of Akroma angel of Fury which was what I “seeked” out.  It was either that or the 1 of Take Possession.  Then believe it or not I think he top decked that Take Possession, I'm not sure if he runs 1 or 2, he might of had one in hand.  He then took my Phryxian Totem and beat me down with my own totem and using my blood crypt to activate it.  Uber bad when YOU also had to Mull to 5!

Game 2
Biggest regret and stupidest thing. Keeping a no land hand! Opening hand "firemane angel, zombify, angel of despair, extripate, hide//seek, castigate"
0-2
Record Now 2-3-1

First Time
I don't know how to use this yet. Going to start after finals to learn how to use this populated Internet Journal which everyone uses. I will probably use this until they Xanga gets too popular and infested with ads like Asianavenue or Apt 107
