BREAKING UP???There have been a couple different forms of a rumor going on and it needs to be dispelled.
Madison East is NOT breaking up.
We have been going through some changes once again and it has presented some challenges. Due to these changes you may not see us around for awhile. We are playing on May 12, 2006 in Lakewood where we will be headlining Friday Night of the Cleveland Music Festival at the HiFi Club (Detroit rd). After this show we will probably be out of commission for a little while, but understand this: We are not in anyway throwing in the towel.
This is what’s happening. You may have read on Jeremy’s myspace that he is quitting the band. This was a difficult decision for him to make but he sprung it on us kind of suddenly which created some tension. We met with him last night and re-discussed his reasons for doing so which helped us clear the air a little. So this is where it stands, Jeremy, as of now, is taking a long break from Madison East to pray and find his direction. This break will most likely conclude in his permanent departure but all parties involved want to make sure this is the right decision. We will be proceeding in the meantime as if we are without a singer and will be actively seeking a new frontman.
Dillon has also made a definite decision to leave the band and has been thinking about this for several weeks. This presents a dilemma for Leo who is currently praying and attempting to arrange a way for him to be a part of the band without relying on Dillon to get home from place to place.
We wish both Jeremy and Dillon blessings beyond comprehension and have cherished their time with this band.
Now that the heavy stuff is out of the way I would like to welcome back an old face to a new position in the band. Those of you who have been around awhile may remember our original bass player Matt Rogers. Matt was forced to leave the band around 2 years ago due to personal circumstances he lost control of but has now agreed to come back to replace Dillon on third guitar (and many other musical avenues he will undoubtedly bring to the band).
Over the last 3 ½ to 4 years this band has run into setback after setback that have limited the intended forward movement of our “success”. All of these circumstances have generated significant disappointment for all of us and those of you who want to see us succeed and to leave you all with yet another cliffhanger grieves me.
But to quote our good friend Nick Brewer in his own Rumor Stomping message he posted this morning, “Successful businesses take time to plan and execute.” If we would have gone any further with this in the past then there would be no Madison East today.
WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP WITH THE WARPED TOUR BATTLE OF THE BANDS!!! Any big opportunities like this will be capitalized upon to our best ability! KEEP LISTENING EVERY DAY!!! If we win and get the opportunity to play at one of the Warped tour dates We Will Be Playing! We will find a way to make it work and it will be an amazing day for us. But we need you guys to help. We’re limping a little right now so please help us get back up. We need more plays! http://www.battleofthebands.com/madisoneast
If you would like to purchase tickets for the May 12 show at the HiFi or would like to try out for the opportunity to sing for this band, send us a message on Myspace, at madisoneast@hotmail.com or call me at (440-289-3710). When we get back on our feet we may look and sound a little different but we will be Madison East and it will be better than ever.
