| Extra Cash......A blonde, wanting to earn some extra
money, decided to hire herself out as a "handywoman" and started
canvassing a nearby well-to-do neighborhood.
She went to the front door of the
first house, and asked the owner if he had any odd jobs for her to do.
"Well, I guess I could use
somebody to paint my porch," he said, "How much will you charge
me?"
The blonde quickly responded,
"How about $50?"
The man agreed and told her that the
paint and everything she would need was in the garage.
The man's wife, hearing the
conversation, said to her husband, "Does she realize that our porch goes
all the way around the house?"
He responded, "That's a bit
cynical, isn't it?"
The wife replied, "You're
right. I guess I'm starting to believe all those dumb blonde' jokes we've been
getting by e-mail lately."
A short time later, the blonde came
to the door to collect her money.
"You're finished already?"
the husband asked.
"Yes," the blonde replied,
"and I had paint leftover, so I gave it two coats."
Impressed, the man reached into his
pocket for the $50 and handed it to her..
"And by the way," the
blonde added, "it's not a Porch, it's a Lexus".
Hope that gave you a laugh, Blessings, ~ Sarah

| Keeping busy!Ahhh, school is finally
winding down for me, only a couple more weeks and the summer starts -
and man is it busy! So much has happened in the last few months and
since I can never remember who I told what to....so here is a post for all of you. :)
First of all, you probably all know that I am going to Denmark
this summer!! I can't believe that my parents actually let me sign the
papers. Right now I am busy with fundraisers and meetings for the trip.
We are doing something called "Hire a Teen" where people can hire us to
come a do odd jobs for them. I have quite a few lining up for the
summer too!
Right after I get back from Denmark, I'll have to get ready to
head ont to Indianapolis! Back in February I participated in the
Regional Level of Fine Arts. Fine Arts is a competition that the
Assemblies of God Churches do. Students can use their God-given
talents. Categories rang from singing, acting, writing, and music all
the way to stomp and rap groups. I entered a Drama solo that I had
written which moved on to the District Level. The week before Easter my
youth group headed to Carlyle for the the District Competition. This
included students from all of Pennsylvania and Delaware. Finally, a few
days after my performance I found out that my monologue had moved on to
NATIONALS!! This means I get to go to the National Competition and
compete against students from all over the country! Needless to say I
am so excited for that opportunity.
As if my summer was not busy enough I have decided to add
another major project to the mix. Last fall I began working as a leader
in the Junior High youth services. Seeing those young people, and
getting close to them, and just hearing things they say and the way
they act has really had an impact on me and one of my other friends. We
began talking about the things our generation faces....there is so much
more garbage out there than ever a few years ago when I was their age!
I was inspired to write a play about this subject. In it, each of the
seven main characters struggle with something that faces the youth of
today. Things like rebellion, prescription drug abuse, pornography,
eating disorders, premarital sex....the list goes on. The play reached
about thirty pages and in being reviewed by my youth pastor now. He was
really excited when I told him about it and I hope to be directing the
play this summer!
We just finished up the History Fair a few weeks ago. My last
one **sniff** but it was a good one. I ended up doing my project on the
Hitler Youth program in Germany. It was such an interesting topic to
research and learn how Hitler impacted an entire generation of young
people with his doctrine. I think this was an especially interesting
subject to learn about and share with the other students there. I did
take first place there for the third year in a row :) which I think was
a fitting ending to my last fair.
There is also another thing about the fair I am going to miss and
that is teaching. Both this year and last year I got to teach the 1-5
graders while the judging was going on. Last year I taught about the
founding of America and this year the topic was life during the Civil
War. I finally managed to finish my Civil War costume and wore it,
which the kids loved! I have included pictures as well:

Finally, I think the most exciting thing of all is..........I have chosen my college!!! On
Tuesday evening I went up to Geneva college to spent the night and all
day Wednesday. Since my overnighter at Waynesburg was terrible I knew
this trip would make it or break it for Geneva. And may I say it made
it 110% !! The girl I stayed with was so nice, we had allot in common
and chatted so much. Every single person I met there was so nice and
immediately accepted me and went out of their way make me feel at home.
I didn't want to leave the next day when Mom came to pick me up. It was
such a great experience and I am so hoping to go in the fall! Right now
all I am waiting on is the Duff scholarship....I find out the beginning
of June and it is $10,000 a year! If I get that I will be able to go
for free!!
All prayer would be appreciated!
Anywho, that is the latest bits of excitement. I just wanted you all to be caught up with what all is happening in my life. I love you all!!! ~ Sarah | | |
| My Life on the Phone....I just looked at the time I have spent on my cell phone since I got it: 39 hours.....54 minutes......and 42 seconds!!!
I have spent over thrity-nine hours of my life on the phone......
.....wow....
Well thats all...I am snowed it and feeling random. ~ Sarah

The Best Movie Ever!!!Yay...its Friday!!!! School is over (at least for a few days) and what
better way to kick off the weekend than by going to see a movie!
This awesome new dollar theatre just opened up close to my house and so
my mom and I headed out to see "The Prestige" and I must say it is one
of the best movies of all time. They tell the story in such a great
way, showing it out of order so you have no idea what is going on until
the end - and what an end it is! Total surprise...I think it will take
weeks for me figure everything out. I won't even attempt to tell the
story here...there is no possible way anyone could tell the story
without sounding totally ridiculous, so I will just leave you with this:
Men, battling each other with the same ultimate obsession, mixed with
suspense, love, and alot of magic makes for one amazing film! (plus, I
mean when you throw Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine, and
Andy Serkis in the mix it makes it even better)
So write a comment, add some snaps, and see "The Prestige"
Love ya all, ~ Sarah
