  • The Nanny Cam????

    My daughter babysits quite often.  I have a baby, myself.  I've been pondering over the use of a Nanny Cam ever since I saw the Nanny Diaries.  LOL!  So really, what do you think? Would you use a Nanny Cam in your house? Would you use it to watch your child's child care provider? What if you were the babysitter? How would you feel being watched? Are there any circumstances when it is ok?

    I honestly don't think I'd ever use a Nanny Cam to keep an eye on my child's babysitter. I certainly hope that none of my daughter's employers have one. I just think there is something very creepy about the whole thing. I guess if I suspected abuse (or one of my daughter's employers did) then perhaps it would be warranted. I don't know, it falls into the whole voyeur type behavior and I'm not sure I like that. I guess for me, I wouldn't have anyone babysit my baby that I don't trust enough to not need a nanny cam...you know? Seriously, what are your thoughts on this?

    Now a bullet-proof backpack is rather cool.......

  • in the market for a stroller?

    From time to time I think random thoughts...like, what would I do if I were pregnant right now?  I think this because my neighbor is pregnant and has 3 girls already, all are under the age of 7.  What in the hell would I do with another baby right now?  I am so tired and worn out from the 4 children I have now.  LOL  But I realize that I'd need another twin stroller, because I can't carry one, much less two!

    It's funny, though, when I start thinking these crazy, random thoughts, I start looking online for things I'd need if this or that happened. LOL!!!! Maybe it's just boredom? Anyway, I realized I'd need a twin stroller should I have another baby so I started looking on different websites. I especially like this twin stroller because it looks snazzy, is a dark color so it would be easy to keep clean and it has high ratings. I currently have a single seat jogging stroller which I love, so I'd probably like a jogging twin stroller even better than the urban double! Of course for ease of use, a side by side might be more difficult to use than one that is front and back. I guess I have some time to worry about this, seeing as I am likely NOT pregnant, but if I were, I'd certainly be looking at the twin strollers!

  • Shopping Again!

    I've been looking for some baby items on the net and spending quite a bit of time browsing Shopwiki/babies and toddlers because everything I need is right there!Hope has really been giving me a run for my money.

    I purchased a Playard like these superyards and the little stinker can push it all over the floor. I thought it would solve all of our problems with her being so physically active! She's driving me crazy!

    I'm also on the search for the best babyproofing products. I'm specifically looking for cabinet guards as she is forever heading to my under-the-sink cabinets. I've never had such a busy baby before!

    I hope this is just a phase she is going through and she will calm down eventually.  Otherwise, I just don't know what will be in store for us!

  • Time Change

    Every time we set the clocks ahead or behind, my internal body clock protests.  It's midnight and I'm wide awake....  I feel as if I should have 6 more hours before bed.  It's crazy.  When we turn the clocks back you'd like I'd be more rested, right?  I'm not.  I'm exhausted and I feel that exhaustion until spring.....

    I went grocery shopping tonight.  My poor children aren't going to know what hit them.  I got whole grain everything.  HA!  New changes around here.  No more unhealthy snacks.  No more candy.  No more junk. We are eating cleaner than ever.    Everyone enjoyed dinner last night, so who knows, maybe this can be successful?

  • Unhealthy Obsession.....

    I am totally obsessed with Lipstick Jungle, the totally awesome tv series written by the same author who wrote Sex and the City.  However, I don't get time to watch it when it's on tv (Thursdays at 10pm).  I found out that you can watch the WHOLE episode on the NBC website!!!  That is awesome and it's free!

    I am sooo sucked in to this TV show...I bought the book and a few others by the author and can't wait to read them!!!  I'm debating on saving them for summer reading by the pool (but then, how much reading will I get done with Hope?) and reading my stack of books that I have already, but gosh, part of me wants to run upstairs, get ready for bed and snuggle in with the book already.  LOL!
