Okay, I rescind my previous "wah". That's a lot...unless they are all acting and music classes....

I totally understnad where you're coming from. sometimes things do get "awkward once the physical barrier has been breached". but it doesn't have to be awkward unless you make it that way. people around here are just in the mindset that once something physical happens, it automatically means that they must go further or at least start going out.

scenario #1: boy and girl are great friends, boy invites girl over...they feel a little chemistry between them and they kiss. it's a nice kiss, but neither of them want a relationship, so they stay friends. every once in a while they feel it again, and they kiss. it's not enough to be bf/gf, but it's a friendly relationship with kissing every so often.

scenario #2: same idea-friends kiss..then boy says "will you go out with me. the girl doesn't want to, but she does anyway because that's what society says you should do.

why is it that we have to be older to just go on dates as friends and nothing more?
I don't know if what i'm saying makes sense, and I know I'm naive, but i'm just a little uncomfortable with the fact that if you go on one date with someone, you are automatically bf/gf. if you kiss someone, that automatically means that the guy feels obligated to ask the girl out.

but respect your opinions and i'm honored that you read my whole entry and decided to try to help me better understand the subject.
