Good Morning! I have some good news to pass on... I went to see the Physical Therapist yesterday & after asking me several questions & checking out my ankle.....he thinks with some exercises....I WON'T HAVE TO HAVE SURGERY!!!!!! How's that for a praise report??? I was so excited that I think some of the pain went away with just his words....LOL!! He thinks that he can get me out of the boot cast with-in a couple of weeks. PRAISE THE LORD!!! This came at the perfect time (ain't that just like God?) to go with Training Hearts "Blogger Friend School" assignment this week.

    BountifulBlessings

Part A: Share at least 3 “Bountiful Blessings” that the Lord has abundantly provided.

The Lord has brought us through sooooo much in the last year. We have had children get in trouble & it's all worked out. We've had unexpected bills to pop up at "just the right time" when there was extra money. We've seen the hand of God working in our lives in so many areas. Three bountiful blessings....

    1. My family: I am so blessed to have a husband who loves me in spite of my problems, imperfections & down right unsubmissiveness. He is so kind & understanding & such a hard worker. He provides well for his family. My children are pretty well scattered now but when push comes to shove, they have their mama's back & that what's important, right.

    2. My home: This may seem trivial to some but a nice home is so important to me. Not to say "Look at me, I have a nice house" but because when growing up as a child, we had nothing. I remember living in a house where you could look through the floorboards & see the dirt ground underneath it. It was nothing more than a shack but it was all we had. Now, we live in a home that is warm, has all the extras (indoor plumbing & electricity) & is soooo comfortable. I thank God for His provisions!

    3. My health: Instead of re-writing this one....see the beginning of the post...LOL!!

Part B: Share your Thanksgiving Feast {past or present} You may use Photos, menus, recipes, activities, traditions…Be creative! –”Who carves the turkey?”, “Do you save the wishbone?”, “What do you serve for dessert?”, “Who hosts the Thanksgiving dinner in your family” ….my favorite…”What do you do with all those leftovers?”

Our Thanksgivings are usually spent at home with just family. In years past, when the children were small, we had a few traditions. We would do up a cornish hen just like the turkey for the smallest child. They got to have their own special "Tom Turkey". Bryan always does the turkey & I do all the other things to go with it. The boys always got the wishbone & that signified that it was time for dessert, after they pulled the bone & we all had a good laugh. I always made a lemon pie for BJ (his favorite), Angel liked pumpkin & Kathy & Shaun like chocolate. Alot of the time we would would have turtle cake also. And there would be cookies galore! (I'm starting to see why it's so hard for me to lose weight...LOL!!)

I just went on a wild goose chase for pics. of past Thanksgivings. Can you believe I didn't find a single picture???  I found Easter pics, Christmas pics, birthday pics but not even one Thanksgiving day pic!  So, I'll have to give you a visual.....look at the picture that I'm going to post (after this part of the post) & imagine it surrounded by a gorgeous turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean cassarole, corn on the cob, deviled eggs, homemade bread & rolls, pies, cakes, & cookies....now picture along with this anywhere between 3-6 happy, hungry people hovering around like vultures circling for the kill & you've got the Lamb family Thanksgiving!

    Picture folder 1 095

Nice picture, huh? Shaun looks like he's trying out for a part in a movie of Henry the 8th....LOL!!

Part C: Post a Scripture that reminds you of your blessings!

"When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee" - Deuteronomy 8:10

Hello Friends! Betcha thought I was gone for good, huh? SURPRISE! I'm back... I've been so busy & had alot of stuff going on so I've been off the computer for awhile. That's in addition to the almost week that we were offline due to a dead modem! (Gasp!!) I went back to the Dr. about my ankle & it's no better.  I'm still in the boot cast for another 3 weeks. But now I've got to go to Physical Therapy too. If this doesn't work, they're going to do an ultra-sound to see what's in there....(Say what???) Anyway, on to some more exciting things...let's get the BloggerFriendsSchool assignment done. This week is one that everybody can relate to....LAUNDRY!! Blessings, Patty

    Sharelaundry

Part A - Share about your family’s laundry. Where is it kept? Who does it? How does your family sort it? Do you wash by hand? Hang clothes on the clothesline? Make your own laundry soap? How often do you do laundry? How many loads each day/week? Indoor laundry room, in the garage, or laundry mat? Even more fun…share a picture!

The dirty laundry is kept in a basket in each person's bedroom & brought downstairs to the laundry room on laundry day. After it's washed & dryed, it's taken back up to my bedroom where it dumped on my bed to be folded & hung up & finally distributed to the room it officially belongs in. Our laundy is going through a change of sorts....Back when all the children were home I did it 3 times a week & did at least 3 loads each time. Now, that there is just 3 of us here, I'm finding that I can get by with just a couple of loads. I sort it by doing mine/Bryan's/Shaun's in one load, whites in another load, towels in another & finally sheets in another. I usually do a load of our clothes & then the whites on Mon, our clothes & the towels on Wed, & our clothes & the sheets on Fri. If the bathroom rugs need to be washed, I'll throw them in with any cleaning rags & do them on Fri or Sat.

I don't make my own laundry detergent....I'm a Tide user from way back.... I used to use whatever was on sale until I found that Tide cleans better. From then on, I cut corners someplace else & NOT with my Tide...lol! Our washer & dryer is behind two doors in my kitchen. I'd love to have a special room to do it in but....*shrug* you do with what you've got! Here's the pics....(The kitty's dish has to be up high so the puppy doesn't eat their food! )

Without the glare of the light....

    Washer and dryer 003

Part B - Do you have an area in your life that you know that the Lord is tugging at some heart strings that needs to be cleaned up? Have a testimony of your past struggle(s) that might help another homeschooling mom? Share a piece of your heart (dirty laundry) that you are seeking a good washing or how it got cleaned up. Sharing with one another is a great way to have your post feel human and real.

My biggest piece of "dirty laundry" if you will....would have to be the "p" word....do I HAVE to say it??? Oh....okay. PROCRASTINATION!!! There....it's out. For all the bloggers to see. I, Patty Lamb, am a procrastinator! I will put things off until the very last second....all the while promising myself (and God) if I can just get caught up or get this (whatever "this" happens to be) finished on time....I will NEVER put anything off again....and the next time? I'm making the same promises... Shame on me! I'd appreciate your prayers in this area.

Part C -Find a scripture this week that pertains to this assignment to help you with your laundry and share it this week.

My scripture for this week is one that tugs on my heart in this area....

Proverbs 31: 27 - "She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
