oh wow....

I don't know what to say.

SO SO SO MUCH has happened....

I'm so sorry I haven't updated in such a long time.

I guess I got caught up in the livejournal craze, along with almost everyone else in the world o.O

in case your interested in seeing it:
www.livejournal.com/users/mireille_mimi

ah what can I say?

It's summer!!!!! ^_^ but I'm awfully busy.  I'll be leaving to Massachussetts june 25, and I won't be back for eight weeks @_@

Took the SAT this morning (hopefully the last time I'll ever have to take it).  'tis exhausting, but I'm hoping I did well.

umm *ponders*
graduation was not too long ago...so sad to see the seniors go, along with 6 of our teachers. yes, SIX! how will my school survive? I really don't see how it can.  I'll miss Mr. T so much (and it's NOT the Mr. T you're probably thinking of lol); this one's a history teacher/counsellor/the greatest person you'll ever meet in your life.
and then there's Mrs. Carr, Mrs. Norton, Mr. Arrington, Mr. Dunaway, Mrs. T, Ms. Brand...oh wait that's SEVEN...I almost forgot, I just learned about Ms. Brand leaving yesterday.
craziness!!! x_x

*sigh*
well, next year will be my last year there...maybe the school will survive until the end of next year?
we shall see.

hmm...watch paranoia agent!!!!! saturdays on adult swim...it's good ^^ I got all of the episodes a little while ago and quite enjoyed it.

Well I'm off for now! there is much I must do.

ciao ~.^

*whew* well it's the second (last) week of Intersession right now.  I have been working (although mainly just observing) a pediatrician at a local hospital.  So far, it has been extremely interesting! o.o Oh and it's SO busy constantly! Especially at this time of year...alot of people coming in with the flu, a cold, stomach virus, ear infections, etc.

So I've gotten to see cute little kiddies for 6 hours every day for the past week ^_^ although, it makes me sad because most of them are there because they are miserable and sick ;_; Poor little things. Ah, and the doctor...he is so incredibly nice and personable.  He is also my pediatrician, so it's great that I get to work under him.

I have also seen some pretty interesting cases, other than just the usual.  One newborn we examined had a heart murmur so I was able to listen to that.  Another child, had a hematoma and a shunt leading from the brain into the abdomen.  And OH how could i have forgotten...I got to watch the pediatrician perform a circumcision.  That was very interesting to see...But personally, I don't see the need in circumcisions...unless they have true health benefits...the doctor didn't seem to think there was...but of course, if it's requested he doesn't say "no" XD In case you're interested you should read this : http://www.cirp.org/library/general/warren2/ ... After watching the circumcision, the doctor and I were walking down the hall to visit some mothers when we saw a nurse sitting in a wheel chair, looking rather frazzled.  The doctor and the nurse practicioner I was with started cracking up because it turned out she had fainted in the middle of watching a circumcision o.O lol...I thought that was pretty funny...I'm not quite sure why it made her faint, because it didn't seem so bad when I watched it.  But those kinds of things have never really bothered me.  While I was watching the procedure, i noticed the doctor glancing at me every once in a while to make sure I wasn't feeling woozy. XD lol

hmm what else..

Lately, I've been driving quite a bit...and driving isn't quite as fun as it used to be. lol it's more of a chore now ...Just about everyday i drive to the hospital, to the restaurant, then home, and then to the hospital, and then back home, and then to school, and then home again. Atleast I'm getting a lot of practice.  hehe and I aslo learned how to park in a parking deck without a) getting lost and going the wrong way b) not being able to find my car when I need to leave or c) not knowing the right way to get out. ^_^

well, I'm going to go eat dinner now.

ciao!

wow...so much has happened...
in case anyone would like to know, I achieved my goal of getting into red band!!!! *squeals* ^_^ SO HAPPY....*ahem* but yes...I placed second in our district (but I was only one point away from first o.O)...and the top four people in each district make it into red band.  So I guess I get to be in HIS (the amazing clarinetist i always blab about) clarinet section in April!! YAY so now...my next goal, is to SIT next to him! (yes that means i'm shooting for second chair) ehh but I wouldn't hold my breath on that...nonetheless i'll be working hard towards that goal!
We had all district band this weekend. Had a wonderful time.  The conductor was very good and picked out some great music for us to play. My favorite piece, I think was Rikudum, which was a selection of Israeli dances. The first chair clarinetist in district (Michael) was a *very* good player (well I guess he'd have to be seeing as how well he has placed).  I think the concert  yesterday went very well.  But it was SO incredibly hot on the stage, we could hardly breathe(thank goodness Michael didn't pass out during one of the songs...he said the world started spinning). Not to mention our lips were just about worn out from rehearsing so many hours.  So not only did we have trouble breathing sufficiently, but we couldn't hit high notes very well because our mouths hurt (especially on one specific song...). But despite that, it went very well! ^^
hmm there are so many other things that have happened, i'm sure...but band just seems to be all that is on my mind right now.  I enjoyed spending time with a friend that I had met previously at other band competitions , his conductor, and my conductor.  Going out to eat, talking, etc. etc. Good times.
wow I really can't think of anything else...hehe I guess anything and everything music related is just occupying all of my thougts right now...I really ought to be studying for a literature test right now actually..and writing an article for the school newspaper...so I guess I'd better run.

ciao ~.^

EXAMS ARE OVER!!!!!!!! *bounces off the walls*

AHH I'm SO incredibly happy!!!! holiday break time! whoo!! hehe....but yes, exams went pretty well, I believe.  nothing that I thought I totally screwed up on ^_^

There is so much I have to do over the holiday break! here's my list (in case you're interested lol...I don't know why you would be...but oh well)

1) first and foremost, PRACTICE CLARINET....the competition is in January! I'm determined to make red band...determined, I say! I'll have the tryout pieces down perfect by then *hits fist into hand*...and this time when I try out, I'm not going to be nervous and trembling. oh! and I'm so excited about the new products I got for my clarinet for my birthday...I'm in love with my new barrel.  It has changed the tone completely. The reeds, unfortuantely, were too hard to play...but in time, I'll be able to play them. and the neck strap has made all the difference in the world! I never knew I was double jointed...although maybe it's just a very weak joint o.O oh well...

2) PIANO...there are several pieces that I love, that I really need to work on

3) clean clean clean...can't wait for my cousins to come next week ^^

4) play ddr until I drop ^_^ need i say more?

5) work at the restaurant more often

6) read some very good books that I haven't had enough time to read yet

7) see a huge list of movies that I reeeally want to see

there is quite a bit more, but I gotta go for now ~.^

ciao!!!

*sigh* sweet 16...I wonder why it is so sweet? well, I can't get my license until after exams, but that's ok.  I wouldn't be able to drive anywhere anyway.  (heh that rhymed) *ahem* I mean, my birthday went pretty well! ^^ school was no fun...they just *had* to give me two major tests and two major quizzes on my bday...and then I had a yearbook layout deadline, and anything else that could possibly stress me out.  But after school, I got to enjoy watching my friends perform "Blood Wedding".  I was surprised at how well they did!! I really enjoyed it ^^ Such talent, they have.  After the play, I went back to our restaurant where people sang happy birthday to me and we ate cake and ice cream (good stuff!).  Then, I decided I wanted to help fold boxes so everyone could get out of there earlier...people called me crazy for wanting to work on my bday, but i'm not!  I actually enjoy it!! ok maybe I am crazy, then..but no matter.  I had someone try to challenge my champion box folder status, and I must say he was pretty good!! despite the fact, his friend was trying to cheat by adding boxes to his pile =_=...hmm but supposedly the challenger had only been folding boxes for around a month...and well, I've folded them since I was six.  not exactly fair, eh? but, it's still fun to have guys get mad at me because I beat them, and the girls cheering for meh because I beat the guys lol ^^ good times.  This challenger, though, was quite nice to me actually =) after our competition, he would randomly stop and stare at me while I folded boxes at my normal pace, and when I looked up at him, he said, "I will master the art of folding boxes.  I'll keep practicing" and then he worked on imitating my motions XD afterwards, he wouldn't let me carry the piles of boxes back to the storage room, and kept on taking them from me everytime I started to >.<  He then said that he had seen me around before and I had seen him too...but unfortunately, I don't get to go to the restaurant too much during school...but during summer, I get to work there much more often ^^  I don't know why I love it so much...it's supposed to be "work" right? something not fun? ehh maybe I shouldn't even call it "work" then if I enjoy it.

speaking of "work", I  did volunteer "work" for knox concert's production of the Nutcracker Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (yes I had to miss some important classes...although I didn't miss much)  I got to work with the cute little kids: doing hair, makeup, putting on their costumes, taking off their costumes, helping them get where they need to be.  They are so horribly cute!!! and...violent.  atleast the little "rat" girls were...they kept on taking their tails and hitting me on the head and on my side (did the same to my friend who was also working with me). And they would laugh hysterically, and ahhhh the cuteness of their laughing faces, it burns...and so does a rat tail slamming into your side. but yes, it was good times! ^^ I'm gonna miss them actually hehe.

but alas, it is time that I go get started on some of this homework

until then, ciao!~

(oh, and the song you are hearing now is: "si seulement, je pouvais lui manquer" - a wonderful french song by Calogero!) hope you enjoy <3
