Cost to watch Celtic dancers step to Travis Tritt singing "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" ...$3.00

  • The Prize Doesn't Always Go to the Most Deserving

    53113b6

There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena Sendler. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive' ... She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German.)

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and for larger kids, in a burlap sack she kept in the back of her truck. She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and tried to reunite the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ... She was not selected.

Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming!

  • OPERATION CHRISTMAS TREE

Below is a link to a web site where you can order Christmas trees to be sent to Service Members stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq. The trees are live and will have lights and decorations on them when they are delivered. Please pass this information on to ones on your email list, so if they have a loved one serving overseas they can send them a Christmas tree if they want to. The cost is $20, this includes shipping.

Don't have a loved one over there? You can also donate one to someone over there, you don't have to know them... just to any Service Member who is away from home during the holidays.

  • Why do I get behind all the crazy people at the airport???

I just returned from a week in Utah. ( I love Utah by the way).  Flying for me this time was actually exhausting.  It never fails that I somehow manage to get right behind the nuts who try to board the plane with pocket knives, 8 oz bottles of cologne, or giant corkscrews.  I had all three on this last trip.

I could deal with it better if they would just hand  over the items and move on down the line.  But to have to wait while they argue with security is ridiculous.

I'm either getting old and cranky or people are just getting more crazy.   Perhaps I should just take the scenic route and drive.

    Question of the day...

What has been your worst airport experience since 9/11?

  • TORN BETWEEN THE TWO...

I've been  shopping for a new vehicle lately and I have narrowed my search down between these two ...

    The Chevy Avalanche...

This one fits me like a glove.  I'm tall and it's hard to get a comfortable ride unless it's a big car or truck.  This is a good ride.

    The Honda Ridgeline...

This is too.  Gas mileage isn't that much better than the Avalanche.  Both are really good.

I'm torn between the two.  Sooooo, this is where you come in.   Which of the two SUVs do you like best?  And what are the negatives and /or positives of each.

If you have any knowledge on either one could you please share it with me.  I'd appreciate it very much and highly consider all comments before making my purchase.

    Question of the Day...

    Avalanche or Ridgeline?
