Busy-nessWell, things have been super great but crazy around here. I don't have much time to post *sigh* so I'll give a quick run-down of what all has been happening lately!
To kick off my week last Sunday, I got an email from a client who I had just sent on a trip the day before.
Long story short he works with Michael at the Bank and he is kind of a different individual. Very picky and very....um....different I guess you could say.
So, I send him on his dream trip...it is his wife and his 20th anniversary as well as his son's birthday. Less than 24 hours after arriving on their trip, this man's wife slips on some wet tile and shatters her elbow in 4 places. *huge sigh* So until Wed of this past week I was majorly dealing with getting her medical assistance, flying them all home and dealing with Mr G. I am so glad they are ok....but what is so odd is at fist Mr. G acted like I emailed myself to Mexico and pushed his wife down and then emailed myself back! Very weird situation if I must say. Praise the Lord that I had asked him to purchase the travel insurance...problem is he later griped about that. I get the feeling Mr. G is VERY cheap (he does have alot of $$) and I think he is the type of person that likes to blame everyone else for things that are just out of anyones control.
Anyways, God was faithful to me and I trusted that I had favor and I also was for the first time able to deal with a situation like this. In the 4 yrs I have been doing travel I have never had anyone hurt or even caught in bad weather. God is so good to me. I think this was a perfect learning experience and it taught me how to handle a very difficult situation. I did alot of crying though because I hated that my clients trip was cut very short and now Mrs. G has had 2 elbow surgeries already!!! It was just one of those freak things that happend. I am assuming (since there was a sign posted stating that the tile was wet and slippery) that she must not have had very good shoes on and they must of been slick themselves.
On a much better note, on Monday night (even though I was still dealing with Mr G) I got to go see Kutless in concert!!!! They had several bands including Falling Up with them and it was a great concert! Lasted from 7pm until after 10pm! We met with Kutless and that was really cool. By the time we got home it was 11:30pm and I was pooped. That was a very bright spot in my week though.
Other than just normal life and working, I've been doing my taxes finally! I really put it off because it is my first year to do it more or less by myself! -haha Michael and I of course filed together and we've had a friend who does taxes helping us as well as my Mom. Mom loves doing this stuff. It's ok...I'd rather just sell travel though! haha
Oh! Below is an english paper we found a few weeks ago when we went through Michael's old things from storage! I kept it out because I think I'm going to frame it as a joke. Anyone that knows Michael knows that he can write pretty good and that he is great at poetry! I found this english paper from March 20, 1996!! I just had to post it because it is hilarious!!! I couldn't believe he wrote this for school!!
Disclaimer: This is not his best work....hahah
Michael Meil - English III-H
The One That Got Away
One day I was out and chillin' on my lawn,
When along came my wife and she had it goin' on.
As she walked by I asked her to stop.
I said, "Would you mind to see a movie and grab a sodie pop?"
During the movie I thought of a way to get her to ask,
"Why don't we go to my place, we'll get to know each other fast."
I thought of going to Victoria Secret's to buy some lingerie.
Hey, you never know, this might just be my lucky day.
I tried my little gift idea to get a little action.
She didn't like when I said "I'll give you satisfaction."
Next thing I know I'm on the floor, she jumped me like a cat.
Not quite the way I planned it, she's got a baseball bat.
The moral of the story is, if it's not real clear,
It's better not to get her something that doesn't have a rear.
Next time I'll know what to get.
It better not be a piece of stuff.
Lol...ok, so I have never in my life laughed so hard. Michael has always been a good kid. He has this very quirky sense of humor and as you can see has some sort of talent for writing english papers. I found several copies of the paper...but not one that was graded! I can not believe he wrote about THAT! All I can say is that is my Michael. When he was in highschool and in college he was very interesting...lol
Those of you that know Michael now know how fun he is, but I don't think he'd write that english paper now! Our joke now is that when he talks about college, we call him the "wasted kid" Crazy to know just how Jesus has so transformed Michael into this super-Christian!! Hope you all enjoyed the english paper.
Love to all...I best get to work! |
