Ya, I know, I've neglected this place, heh. Lots of stuff has happened in the last month, but I don't have time to post about it. See, I'm leaving for the Philippines in half an hour ;) So the next time I update will probably be from the other side of the world.

While I'm gone, take a look at my final project for Video Technical Training this semester:

Erase the Hate - a public service announcement

The weekend passes by and I am faced with another week of classes and commitments. Even with all the projects and papers I have to do these next few weeks, they all pale in comparison to piano Juries. Juries are like an ominous cloud constantly hovering over my head, raining threats and terror on me all semester long, lol. But if I practice well the next few weeks, I should be fine.

Elliv! Haha, that was a truly mind-numbing experience (literally). I'll admit that they did an excellent job with it; it was probably the best one I've been to. My only gripe was with the sound techs (screw ups all over the place, and the mix was terrible...almost like they didn't know what they were doing).

Then there's the issue of 'towing the line.' Where do we draw the line between Christian liberty and being like the world? I know it was all in good fun, but I couldn't help but feel that a bit of what went on (the worldview bashing, the outfits, the acts) was right on the edge of what we can do / should not do. Had one of the award winners not dedicated his talent to God and challenged the crowd with a Scripture verse, and had the closing acknowledgements not included a reference to doing it all to God's glory, I would have been quite disgruntled at the whole affair. But that small hint of Christ-centeredness tells me that even though we do get carried away, Cedarville still knows who God is, and who we are.

Been a good weekend; lots of stuff happened. Here's what I learned:

- Miss Congeniality 2 was ok
- Time flies when you're doing something you enjoy
- Encouraging others is a deeply rewarding occupation
- A woman feels very deeply. She is worthy of the utmost care and respect.
- Camelot was very good
- Flexibility is a virtue
- In an ensemble, messing up is forgivable as long as you end well
- Time truly is fleeting

I was reminiscing about thing that have come and gone since I've been here at school. Remembering how things were before the Athletic Center was there, before Rickard and Johnson, before Dr. Ferranti, Dr. O'Neel, and Dr. Brown...
when Coleman was chair and Halsmith was still alive...
when I knew little about life and less about music...

and I think about how old I am compared to who I was...

and then I look at the Hand that's guided and taught me through it all...

and I am invigorated! - Time is fleeting; life is short. People and things come and go, but there is a Purpose to it all. And only He knows what the future holds...

How glorious is that.

We lose an hour tonight don't we? Of all the rotten times, lol. I haven't washed my Jubilate shirt since Jamaica and have to do my laundry some time before our concert tomorrow. It'll be the last concert of the year... makes one realize how quickly this semester has gone by (and how little time I have left to learn my Mozart!!! :(

In other news, I figure I'll post here my primary time drain this past week. Seriously, in the past 8 days I've spent 40-50 hours on this thing. I get that way sometimes. When I have a substantial project that I enjoy working on, I'll spend insane amounts of time on it until it's done. Last year's project was my hymn arrangement (which, btw, Concert Chorale is singing next semester, woohoo!). This year's is my Jubilate Web Page ;)

Ok, I'm off to wash clothes.

Edit: 40 minutes later and I'm still reading people's xangas, hahah. I think I'm gonna stay here and watch my computer clock go from 1:59 to 3:00.

Edit: Hehe
