| Chao! It's time for me to say goodbye to Xanga. It's has been good here, but I've decided to explore other space and layout because I feel it's time for a change. Anywho, please go to here and drop me a note or two cause I'd love to hear from you :) | | |
| They say an end can be a start I said goodbye to my old team then said hello to my new one. Now that I’ve already experienced (and survived) the first week at a new job, somehow there’s still this lingering mindset of what I’m doing now is not permanent. And when I’m asked and reminded, then it starts to seep in that it is permanent and something of importance. Time flies when your mind is occupied, especially at a new job. Monday came and left, and by Friday I felt that I had been there for at least three weeks. And the only thing that I wanted to do by the end of week was to rest and sleep for a long, long time. Not to give the wrong impression that I’m in another job that will slowly deteriorate my sense of self. It’s nothing like that at all. My job is quite interesting and interactive, and it’s definitely another peek into the business, especially the buying side. My manager and I work pretty well together and we think on the same wavelength, so that’s always a good sign. I can already see that this job will be a good foundation for my next step, whatever/whenever that will be. There will be more training and classes this week, hopefully nothing outrageously new that I will make my head hurt by the end of the day. On a random note, I think age is catching up to me. I’ve been realizing lately my favorite place to be is my bed -- whether is to watch movies, read a book or just sleep. The thought of going clubbing exhausts me (though I was never a big clubber to begin with, plus it’s hard to compare after NYC), but I'm more for the lounging with good music/cocktails and conversations. To put it simply: I’m becoming semi-sloth-like and I like it. We’ll see how long this phase will last. ~ chao | | |
| Eros V-Day -- a day dedicated not only to love, but also a reminder to express your appreciation for the people in your in life. Though it would be nice for every day to be like V-Day in mind (minus everything with red/pink heart-shaped merchandise and food) but I suppose that would be too stressful/demanding for the consensus. After all, we all know that V-Day is really just another holiday for us to indulge in chocolate and not feel guilty. But really, why would you need an excuse to enjoy chocolate, that's absurd! As for me, I’m happy with my annual V-Day ecards and text messages, but a little sweet surprise also came to my doorstep this year.
Have a sweet one.

| Spring trend fashion show and fun in the snow The title sums up what went on about this weekend. I got to catch another fashion show much earlier than I anticipated. This time was with my manager along with Nordstrom’s loyal customers. The show was nice and professionally done (very New York Fashion Week-esque). It was basically everything that one would expect to see from a fashion show – the professional models, the lounge/electronica music, and of course, the white runway. Though it was nice to see the new trends for spring and I was glad to be in attendance, but the atmosphere definitely was not as lively as Habeas Corpus. On another note, today's event happened at the last minute but it was a great day of fun (and exercise!) gliding down a “Daisy” slope. We started the day to Stevens Pass pretty early (7 a.m. to be exact) and spent pretty much the entire day doing what we all love – snowboarding. The drive was not bad and also snowed sporadically throughout the day while we were there. I’ve been told how Stevens Pass is much nicer than Snoqualmie, now that I’ve tried both, I have to agree. One thing, the Daisy slope (love the name btw) was challenging enough to experience all the twists and turns, rather than just a downward slope like Snoqualmie. Also, all the cute kids that were on the slope with us added the extra bonus to the day. It was indeed a Super Good Day. This second time around, I (sort of) overcame my fear of getting off the lift without falling miserably and managed to control my speed/feet movement. After about four hours of snowboarding and not having enough rest the night before, I’m already feeling the tiredness and soreness/muscle pain. Boy, am I glad to have tomorrow off. Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to the next trip up there to practice some more. ~chao | | |
| She's a tease The Habeas Corpus fashion show was interesting (to say the least) and certainly not what I expected. The scene: a loft in Pioneer Square/SODO district, simply decorated with green neon lights motion paintings and a projector showing an image of a somewhat sickly/anorexic woman. The loft was also next to an Asian tapas/sushi place where I had a lychee saketini while waiting for the show to start…mhmm! The people: most were between the ages of 21-30 with the Fremont/Broadway look and feel. We also saw a mother-daughter in the audience that caught our attention (and on camera). The daughter reacted well to the show, but the mother looked a little bit troubled…maybe it was too much skin and struttin' for her to handle. The show: it was pretty much a mix-bag of good and bad. Out of five designers, two was the best with innovative designs that gave the audience the oohs and ahhs. Unfortunately, the rest was a bit over the top with outfits only wearable in Broadway or on Halloween. The models were also a mix-bag of looks and sizes, and all had their own style of the catwalk (example: one model crawled out onstage, purring to the audience). There was also a model that only had on a t-shirt and boyshort as her outfit, which got a lot cheering from the guys (naturally) in addition to my friend's comment -- “oh my god, she’s a f*&king tease!” -- hmm...it must have been the winning outfit for the night. Overall, it was a fun and lively show and definately unconventional. I'm looking forward to the next show, whenever that will be, and let's hope that it will be just as entertaining. ~chao Here are some visuals:
