| Evergreen's 20 year anniversary bashGod showed up/ God went with us/ God gave grace/ God blessed!
That's pretty much been my theme of my last 3 years, and God did it again this weekend. Evergreen's 20 year anniversary was....to put it in the vernacular...a GAS GAS GAS. God blessed the time: God spoke: GOD WAS GLORIFIED! It is God's church! He started it! He's in it! He will complete HIS work on earth, through His people. A few thoughts kept going through my head: my 'praise-thankyou' prayers went like this: "Thank you Lord for saving me. Thank you for putting me in this church. Thank you for putting me with these people. I am not worthy. Thank you for your love and kindness. I worship you." I will try to write more later. From sunny Oregon. Yes...I'll be in Oregon. The boys will be holding down the fort. God will be with them. Don't try any funny business. LOVE TO ALL. Oops...almost forgot the most important part. Go to Evergreencc.com and download Mark D., Brent's and Mark B's messages fro the 20th. They just might be the most important messages you'll hear all year. Cross my heart. http://evergreenccmedia.com/messages/ [It'll probably take a few days to get on the site.] Then we'll all be on the same page
Another P.S. GOD ANSWERED YOUR PRAYERS! Kathy and Jessica Darling, with darling Roseanne Anderson's help, were able to come to Friday nite's worship session. Many were blessed by getting to love on Jessica..and I trust Jessica experienced God's great grace and blessing, as did Kathy. Kathy's an unsung hero, caring for her daughter's everyday-minute needs, all this year, with a painstricken neck and back. Pray for her too.
And another P.S.S One more thing. When Mark Bowen was highlighting different secret servants, and then Andy Gray sneaks on stage to thank a few more...two more that were unknown, and I'd like to publically announce and thank: Diane and Ken Johnson missed the whole worship/ message scene...because they were back in the childcare area, serving their little socks off. Will you please thank them sincerely, for all they've been doing for Evergreen all these years, but esp. at the 20th?
| Prayer: for the Darlings/ and the 20th AnniversaryDear friends: I offer this to enlist prayer for the Darlings /and our Evergreen 20th Anniversary Celebration, which starts tonite . I got this in an email this morning: [P.S. Please also pray for Mark, who is delivering the message tonite.]
Kathy left a message on my answering machine this morning asking that I send an email to you with a prayer request for Jessica. She and Jess are going to try to go tonight just for the music and slip out right after the worship, just to protect Jess. They would feel very blessed if they were able to experience worship with their church family (as well as their real family - apparently Jer and maybe Micah will be in the band tonight). To experience just a little of tonight would encourage them greatly.
Please pray for extra grace and strength for Kathy, Jessica, and Rosanne as they do all of Jessica's cares today. There's so much to be done in order for her to attend, and then Jess will need extra energy to be able to go out. Also for afterwards - outings like this seem to set Jess back physically even though they do so much for her emotionally and spiritually.
Please pray for safety as they travel. (Not too long ago they were in a little "fender bender" while taking Jess to the doctor. Jess ended up rolling to the floor since she had been laying down in the back seat. It set her back for days, not to mention it was extremely painful). It's easy to take safe travel for granted.
Thank you for your prayers.
Looking forward to tonight,
Nicki

| PSALM 139: YOU KNOW ME.http://youtube.com/watch?v=RIuFL0SKydA Song for the day: YOU SAW ME, by Hillsong.
Today I was reading Psalm 139. The theme was 'YOU KNOW ME.' [And you know my loved ones.] Here's a smattering of select verses:
O Lord, you have examined my heart, and know everything about me. You know when I sit down and stand up. You know my every thought when far away. You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am. You both precede and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. I can never escape from your spirit. Every where I go , your hand will guide me. [I can't hide from you--my words]
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body, and knit me together in my mother's womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out, before a single day had passed.
Search me O God and know my heart. Test me and know my thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
This psalm gives me great comfort. God is God. He knows, He sees, He's got the whole world in his hands. He calls the shots. He plans our days. He knows the beginning and the end. Nothing surprises him. Nothing is too difficult for him. Nothing shocks him. Or worries him. He doesn't wring his hands over people or events. Rest assured. Our God is God. And keep this in mind: God is on the throne: And prayer changes things. Today, my people, PRAY.
| DIYYou learn something new every day...that is if you're astute, and 'look it up', as my dad used to say. [He never allowed a 'what does that word mean?' He always replied: "Get out the dictionary. Look it up." So today I was reading one of my favorite magazines: Domino. And they keep using the "word" : DIY...I had no idea what it was/ nor could I figure it out....so I 'looked it up.' But boy would dad like google.com. Never again [or at least rarely] do I have to take out a dictionary [except on aol.] So for your learning pleasure, if you don't already know what it means: da duh! drum roll: DO IT YOURSELF!!! DIY! cool. learn something new everyday. [ ps: while i was double-checking 'astute' , just to make sure i was using it correctly: i came across this word on aol.dictionary: a syn. for 'astute': here's a great word for you to add to your vocabulary/ and to LOOK UP: perspicacity. Enjoy this new word: it's on the house! Happy Saturday! Rock the world! Come to the Evergreen 20th Anniversary! | | |
