Spring Break 2007 - Western Caribbean Cruise

One of the advantages for having a college boyfriend is that I get to go on Spring Break

DAY 0 - 3/16/07

So the entire week of 3/12 was sunny and beautiful until the night of 3/15

Due to the snowstorm on the 16th, all flights leaving out of NYC/Philly were cancelled!!  Lucky for us, we re-routed our flight to depart from Washington DC to Florida.

Our trip began with the 10:30pm Greyhound Bus departing from Port Authority to Baltimore, Maryland where Tim’s parents came to pick us up and drove us to the Dulles Airport at 3:30am.

DAY 1 - 3/17/07

We've been up for 24 hrs by the time we boarded on the plane from DC to Ft. Lauderdale....

I can't even imagine what the fellow Penn Staters have to go through during the THON weekend.

Nevertheless, we made it to our Carnival Liberty Cruise at 1pm.

After a long nap...the next logical thing was to eat.

We ended the first night with some dancing at the club.

DAY 2 - 3/18/07

Another Fun Day at Sea.

The map below shows our destinations for this trip

We then walked around the cruise.

DAY 3 - 3/19/07

We arrived at Costa Maya, Mexico at 8am

DSC03673

None of us were interested in seeing ruins (some old man from the cruise actually fell down the steps )

and doing anything crazy, so we decided to relax on the beach and enjoy things that we couldn't do in New York.

1.     Massage on the beach

DSC03660

20 bucks for 1 hr...it felt like heaven

2.     Snorkeling - we even hired our own captain

3.     Drinking Corona on the beach

DAY 4 - 3/20/07

We've spent 4 days on a ship already...I've gone to the Duty Free Shops, free liquor tasting, art auctions (for the free champagne),

comedy clubs, and even worked out at the gym TWICE.  So let's fast forward to the night time to see the mystery animal...

DAY 5 - 3/21/07

Woohoo!  We made it to Limon, Costa Rica an hour earlier than scheduled.

We met up with our tour guide and headed to a series of fun activities...

DAY 6 - 3/22/07

Speeding down the water, we arrived at Colon, Panama at 7am.

We also had a tour group showing us around, so I threw my English- Spanish dictionary out of the window!

2. Indian Village

In order to get to the village, you need to go for a canoe ride (~ 45mins) with the Indians.

DSC03806

This view reminded me of the show "LOST"

DSC03791DSC03805

At one point, the water was too shallow, so we all had to get off the canoe and walked for a bit.

To reward ourselves at the end, we all jumped in the lake and drank beers with the Indians!

As we are sailing into the sunset, we are putting a period at the end of our Spring Break.

DAY 9 - 3/25/07

Arrive safe and sound at the port..I was able to bring back 5 bottles of liquor in my luggage

We continued our journey by driving north on I95 and met up with Chris's parents at Ft. Lauderdale and Tim's parents at Jacksonville.

DAY 10 - 3/26/07

Landed at LGA at noon.  Good thing I was "working from home" today.

Now I better get back to reality and study for my CFA exam.

12-31-2006 @ BED

There are usually 3 things you do at the NYE Party...

First:  Spend as much time at the open bar as possible

Second:  Take a lot of "before the alcohol sets in" pictures

Third:  Oops!! It might be a little too late.....

Hopefully Fern had a great time too!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On another note...the "Judgement Day" was much better this year!  I also got my promotion to AVP

Who is in for a free dinner............@ Shabu Shabu??
