Do you love Singaporen food too?
My week's stay in the Lion City only enabled me to skim the surface of the delicacies offered in this food lovers paradise. Every bite of food is a tease to my taste buds, yearning for me to come back for more. Singaporean food, like its people is a melting pot of flavours derived from the cultures of the people that live there. The food offered here is the ultimate fusion of Indian, Chinese, Malay and Southeast Asian cuisine - the prefect fusion as I would call it, unique to this part of the world. The great thing about Singapore is for less than US$10, you can fill yourself up with the most delicious food at any local hawker centre (just don't expect 5 star restaurant service or air-conditioning).
So here we have it, the last installment of my Singaporean food escapade.
Chee Cheong Fun
Hand-rolled fish ball soup
Black glutinous rice dessert
Roasted Duck
Roasted Duck Noodles
Verged off the beaten path to visit Taiwanese chain restaurant, Din Tai Fung to taste their renowned xiao lung pao.
But first the entree...
Sliced seaweed with vermecelli noodles and sliced tofu, garnished with black vinegar.
Prawn cake
Minced pork noodles
And the signature dish, xiao lung pao (pork dumplings). We ordered 20 of these babies and I had 12 all to myself hehe...
Soooooooo good! The soup from the pork fillings is still twirling inside.
Din Tai Fung at the basement of Raffles City.
That was the last photograph taken from my camera, seconds later I dropped it on the lens - of all places.
I've only had it for less than a year.. Ouch!
