| I just did the Global Night Commute for Invisible Children last night through this morning. It was incredible. We parked in some random shopping center and then walked 5 miles into our destination. Once we got there, we signed in and then wrote a letter to G Dubbs and to one of the Cali senators. Then we got to make an art project explaining why we were there. We took a picture around a Costa Mesa sign and then just chilled outside all night. There were so many people at that location. It blew me away. I saw all ages there too, and that is amazing. I am so proud to have been apart of something so important and so close to my heart. | | |
| Tonight was the Eisley show at Biola. It was incredible. I got in for free. I helped set up Eisley's stuff and then went over to another table for Cavil at Rest and set up and worked at their table. They are some of the nicest guys I have ever met. They were so funny and appreciative. Amy Kuney opened up...she is soo good. She goes to Biola and just released her cd...go buy it. Then Cavil played and they were really good too. They had great presence up on stage. Eisley went on after them, and they were of course incredible. My table got so crazy for awhile. It was a lot of fun to be a merch girl.
I worked at the back entrance at the end of the show to make sure that random people weren't coming in and disturbing the bands and taking their stuff. I got to meet Eisley...they are so nice. I got to hang out in their little room for a bit too. It was rad. The whole night was a great experience. The guys in Cavil want to keep in contact with me, so there are more possible merch girl opportunities...haha.
Alright, I am so tired. Bed time. Oh, and being home was great.
| oh man, have i been learning a lot lately. it's like God purposefully chooses the times that you think you are in the clear to surprise you. so much happened in my life over the past week. it was a ton of stuff that i didn't want to deal with, but my feelings ended up coming out, and i dealt with the situations anyways.
i enjoy crying when i need to...but for this one situation, i wasn't crying even though i needed to. i was sweetly broken on sunday. some things that the pastor said really struck home for me...and then the worship songs hit it even harder. i broke down right there in church...and i was glad. later that night, i faced my feelings again. it was wonderful. i liked having my feelings thrust into my face so that i had to deal with them...especially because i was being stubborn. then something happened yesterday that made me sooo happy. it's so funny how God works. he had me get out my hurt and my frustration in order for me to deal with it...then i get something that was incredible. i don't know how else to explain it other than that without telling what i went through...and since i am still learning, that is all i am going to write on that...
i had an incredibly fun and packed weekend and i made so many new friends. it was great.
