I was at the "Movies at the pool" with my sister Daniela to watch "Take the lead" with Antonio Banderas. First of all - you guys should all get to experience this once! Yeah america has the drive in theater but hey, we have the movies-at-the-pool theater and it's AWSOME!!! First of all it's got the huuuugest and biggest screen Daniela and I have EVER seen in our lifes, CRAAAZY big I'm telling ya!!!! Also everything is allowed to make you feel comfortable and enjoy the movie better: you can swim while watching the movie, just sit on chairs put up, lie on a airmatress in the water and enjoy it from there, stand at the candle lit small tables put up for couples and others etc. People don't mind if you're a little loud cause it's outside, cellphones are not turned off but answered only very short (cause you get addicted to the movie with the huge screen!) etc. Yeah it's cool! But anyways this is not about the surroundings.

As everyone knows I love passion and passionate people! Well tonight it showed me something new, there's different ways of passion! Did you know that? I never thought of it! Usually the passion in "our lovelife" (not that I have one at the moment hihi) crosses our minds when we hear this word but there's so much more! Ok ok yep, I also LOOOOVE Antonio Banderas first of all, he's the most passionate guy ever, it's his BEST movie he ever made and somehow with a controlled passion he drives me out of my mind! If I ever get engaged to a not passionate and hot Latino remind me if you're my friend ok! I don't wanna waste my life.. Jk but they are the hottest guys!

Anyways yeah, what I wanted to say: Like I said we usually think of the passion in romance, well that's not all! Antonio Banderas taught me tonight that you don't have to be loud, noticed all the time or good looking or even dance good to be passionate (well yeah, HE is of course!). It's about living your life passionate. What does that mean? To say it simple: live the life you have at the moment to the fullest and make the most out of it! It's cool huh! I never thought of it like this but it's so true! I mean I am totally NOT passionate about being in Switzerland at the moment - but I can still live passionate and be passionate for the things I work at and do! It's not alot I do but if I live passionate for the little things here it already makes a difference! Man you should see him in this movie, he owns a dancestudio and wears totally formal clothes with a perfect hairstyle (and a hot little bang hanging over his forehead!) - but he's not just the rich dude I'm telling ya! Even if he's mostly quiet - when he does something and starts something it's with his whole Passion!!! He took this blond pro girl with him to school where he teaches Ballroomdances to the "school rejects" to show them how not boring those dances are. They danced a tango together and MAN - I've never seen him more passionate then there ever!!!

Anyways you guys just GOTTA watch it! Maybe you will not all like it but it reminded me of you all and made me MISS YOU GUYS!!! I mean there was I love Lucy in it which made me miss Christy, there was something else in it that made me think of other people - just one thing for everyone so now i can't wait to come back to you guuuuys!!!

That's it for now, love you all and see ya in 4 months or so!!!

Saturday, August 26, 2006

Well I just figured out something real important: I'm a sucker for additionals! You know what I mean? I love everything added to normal things. In foodthings that is sugar in coffee (lots!) and special creamer, whipcream on icecream, nuts in brownies, mustard on a sausage etc. It's plain and simple for me, life without additionals would be boooring... I guess that's why I do additional jobs too, carrying out newspapers and babysitting totally is an addition I think!

And now I'll proof how short I can write and finish here. I'm listening to FCB right now (those suckers don't show it on TV!!!) and they are leading 5:0. Finally after a few losses... Have a good one!

Monday, August 14, 2006

Aaaaw guys if you've never gone with a first year to his first schoolday you've definitely missed out on something!!! Mami and I took Mischa to his very first schoolday today and it was sooo cute!!! First all the second year classes sang 3 awsome and soo good songs. They were cute too, only 7-8 years old. The first song was "welcome" in tons of different languages (multilanguagecountry Switzerland! ), the second and third was an anti racism song so it was reeeally cool! Something like "we love having you here if you're black, white or something else, we all pull on the same rope towards the same goal" or similar. It was cuteish! By the way my teacher from 18 years ago (whooooa I AM old!!! ) is still there hihi, funny to see that cause I look at her different now. With adult eyes I guess. Can't imagine I was THAT small when I had my first day of school cause I totally remember it so clear! Well the kids walked after their teacher into their classrooms, parents behind them. Their she got to know her kids a little. His teachers name is Mrs. Weber, a real nice teacher that has 3 kids too. I LOVE those little girls in Mischa's class! So cute and pretty! They have the cutest clothes like jeans with flowers and stuff. I will totally dress my girl like this someday! Actually I'm so anxcious now to have a girl that age! At 9.30 Mami and I left. I signed myself up to help in swimclass tuesday in 3 weeks. They have swimming once a week Tuesday morning and of course the first couple of weeks Mrs. WEber needs help. After all there's 20 kids that need to get undressed, into their swimsuits, dressed again, blowdry their hair and get out into the next class. Way too much for one person to handle! So I'm really excited to go and help the girls september 5th, will be really cute!! I get to blowdry hair, yay, comb it out and do hairstyles, cute!

It's UGLY, GROSS, RAINY and COLD here!!! I'm sittin upstairs again in a long shirt - ME!!! It feels like winter - I ACTUALLY wore my knitted, huge sweater for the first time yesterday, CRAZY!!! Biggest reason for me to leave I'm telling ya! Well I'll talk to you all later, love ya!

Wednesday, August 09, 2006

Well guys this will be a quick one. Mischa and I finally took that picture with our coool and awsome shirts, aren't we cool! ITALIA! Well whenever I wear this shirt he puts it on too and if we go somewhere together people usually think that I'm the italian mom of my italian son hihi. We don't mind and I love being taken for an italian anyways! Well I love you all and MISS you!!!

Tuesday, August 01, 2006

Trittst im Morgenrot daher,
Seh' ich dich im Strahlenmeer,
Dich, du Hocherhabener, Herrlicher!
Wenn der Alpen Firn sich rötet,
Betet, freie Schweizer, betet.
Eure fromme Seele ahnt [2x]
Gott im hehren Vaterland!
Gott, den Herrn, im hehren Vaterland!

Ok guys, will you let me be patriotic one more time? This is the whole swiss anthym on top, all 4 verses. It's also called "Swiss Psalm" and for us christians that's the reason why it's so special that OUR crazy anichristian country, Switzerland has an anthym like that! I decided since today is 1st of August, the swiss "4th of july" I will tranlate this anthym to you guys so you will get to hear it too. I went to "Bruederholz" tonight with Olivia. It's the highest point of Basel City and country, so you could call it the highest mountain. Reeeally nice cause it was the most awsome weather, we were sitting on grass with tons of people just celebrating, above the city in the nature with a good view on all the fireworks every where around. Everyone was in red and white. There were some showthings they had, at 9 they set the huge fire on flames (with the firemen right there spraying water on the ground constantly cause it was so dry lately) and in the end they had a huge firework. But I can tell you, what touched me most tonight was the speech from the political woman and the anthym. All she talked about was the anthym and then we sang it together. Also in the end. Gosh it was sooo touching cause in all my years I lived in Switzerland I NEVER experienced this before, this closeness and just standing together for our country! I had tears coming when, for the first time since I know it, those thousands of people all got up and sang the first verse of our anthym together! Most people didn't know it anymore after the first but it was already huge that the first one is known now! I know this only from the USA but never here! And some tears were coming cause of the text so here is finally the translation that you guys understand why I was so emotional about it in our antichristian country.

Swiss Anthym/Swiss Psalm:

1.)You come here in the morningred

I see you in a stream of light.

You, high exalted, Wonderful!

When the alptops are turning red

Pray free swisspeople, pray

Your christian soul senses (2times)

God the Lord in our fatherland (2 times).

2.)You come here in the evenings glow

I can find you in the army of stars,

You, oh peoplefriendly, Loving God!

In the heavens light rooms

I can dream free and happy

cause the christan soul senses (2times)

God the Lord in our fatherland (2 times)

3.)You come flowing in the fog

I look for you in the sea of clouds,

You, unfathomably, eternal!

Out of the grey sky,

breaks out the sun clear and milde,

and the christian soul senses (2 times)

God the Lord in our fatherland (2 times

4.)You come driving along in the wild storm,

are our stronghold and restistance,

You, almighty working, saving god!

In stormy nights and scary times

let us trust him childlike

yes the christian soul senses (2 times)

God the Lord in our Fatherland.

That's it, what do you think when you read that? I mean wouldn't you get tears if everyone from your country that is not thinking about god at all unlike America, would get up and sing this song together? I prayed and asked god to show himself to those people through the anthym. Then I also told him that we all sang this in Glory to him, even those that didn't know it!

that's my "word for today". Had to get that in before it turned the 2nd of August - which acutally has happened now it's 1 already hihi. So I better get to bed.

Love you all, don't ever forget how GREAT God is!!! If you do, come here and I'll show you Bruederholz where it's sooo beautiful and you can see everything around - shows once again how great god is!!!

Sunday, July 30, 2006

Ok this is for Ashley cause I explained the whole family system to her...

Ok here's how it all started, Mark and me sitting outside with our kids - lots of them missing though...

Next one is already one with most of the immediate family in it. Alot of the distant family is still missing though! Left to right from my familyposition as the mom: Son Kent, oldest son Mykee (both kinda weeeeird... jk), my hubby Mark, Syndey one of our daughters, me, oldest daughter Cornelia, friend Ezra who really liked her. We should check actually if that's still the case cause then he'd have to watch out for Stefan!!!

Anyways this is just to give you a little picture of it all. Of course after the summer there was no person anymore that was not some part of the family but it gets too complicated to explain them all!!!

Saturday, July 29, 2006

Weird day today! I read the first post I ever posted in december or so when I just got my contacts, then all the comments you guys made. It just all HIT me like a brick and all day I was just sad and down. I sooo miss those good ol times when I didn't know yet that I have to leave and how different it will get here and in Gleanings! Now i'm going crazy over here missing you all sooo much!!! I spent the last 2 hours just copying pics from the CD's Cornelia gave me onto the laptop so I can send them to Coop ( a store here) so they can develop them and I can hang some up. It's pretty cheap this way actually. Those cool grouppics and some others, just all the memories. There's sooo good ones in there! Was probably the wrong thing to do tonight now that i think about it cause that only made it worse. Oh well, I'll have to get over it. I was doing sooo good until now, busy with swimming every day, watching soccergames in summer or hanging out with Olivia, babysitting whatever. Today I had absolutely NOTHING I did cause it wasn't the nicest weather to swim, Olivia is gone, I have no babysittingjob and there was no game. So for the first time in ages I was lost again and in my stupid GLEANINGSSICKNESS again (well getting sick over Gleanings hihi). The other weird thing is - I totally don't want to be at Gleanings right now but i wanna be with you guys. No idea how that would all work out!

But yeah, this post pulled together is actually just, if I could I'd jump in a plane this minute and come to see you guys all again finally! I miss you all and I can't wait to see you again - in 5 months, man what's wrong! I thought it would be 4 when i left till I'd be back! Oh well, love you all sooo much!

Someone say hi to my kids and grandkids and whatever that can't read it - I just watched those "familymovies" again from last summer and cracked up when I saw them!!! Well yeah to my husband too but i guess he can read it himself hihi...

Sunday, July 23, 2006

Well here's some things I figured out this weekend:

1.) Olivia hates everything to do with Italy - except for Pizza and the song "lasciate mi cantare".

2.) I LOVE everything about italy - which i already knew so I didn't really figure it out hihi.

3.) I have a new favorite place where I'd hang out every night if it wouldn't be so expensive and so far away from Basel...

4.) Lakes CAN actually have really big waves - and it's reeeally cool to swim in those big waves cause they're not as salty as the ocean!

5.) I FINALLY know the whole truth about Libanon and Israel.

6.) It's the COOLEST (I'd say the geilest in swissgerman actually!) thing to ride in a "topless car" with your hair open and flying and the music turned up real loud - except for in the tunnel, then it's ugly...

Anyways, I went to east Switzerland with Olivia, my swissfriend this weekend. We left saturday, had to drive like 1 and a half hours (reeally long here, not for us though with our american hearts hihi) and had an apero at the wedding of her ex, now just friend. Then we went to Zürichlake with it's huge waves where we swam and tanned. Then we went to a place around Zürich and found the COOLEST italian place to eat!!! It's called "dieci 10" and all the waitors talk in italian to you. A huuuge italy flag hangs outside like a banner and they also have a bar/coffeeplace. Olivia hated the place and thought the waitors are the most unfriendly people ever, i LOVED it! It's really popular amongst the young people and gosh that one waitor sooo cracked me up! Christine remember the policeguy in LA where we kept on giggling with no reason because of everything he did? Well I missed you this weekend cause it was the same there! He told his waitress collegue that he only serves 2 girls behind us "perche sono belli" (because they're pretty). I heard him and cracked up, he looked at me and winked with his tongue out a little like a little boy. It was kinda cute and really funny. But it was so bad cause I couldn't stop laughing whenever he came - and he had to serve us!!! Poor guy, I hope he didn't think I liked him or something hihi... But I REALLY had to think of you there Chrisitine!!! I soo wanna go again in August when they have a festa italiano with a karaoke and pianobar and stuff like that, awsome that place!!! I actually wanna try this karaoke thingy out - sing INCOMPLETE of course hihi...

Well then we went to her parents house and it's soooo beautiful! I had a room to myself right next to Olivias and her parents are the cutest! I watched TV till 1 while she went to bed, then I slept in till 12 when we ate lunch. During lunch (barbeque with salads, real good!) we talked about israel and now I know everything I wanted to know for a long time. Well in one TV station they explain it pretty neutral too but usually it's everything against Israel of course, here in Europe and everywhere. After lunch Olivia and I went to "bode lake", on the way there it started raining for the first time in at least 5 weeks but it stopped again. Once we were in the lake the sky was all blue again and the sun hot. It's the PRETTIEST lake I've ever been in (not alot though...) with a fountain too where we swam through and the nicest green and warm water! Then we lay in the sun, reading and watching some italian guys play soccer and discuss the italian soccerteam. One guy totally reminded me of Mark, looked alot like him. We got back later on, like around 7.30, then we ate dinner (left over pizza for me that I let "my funny guy" wrap the night before, then Birchermiesli). Around 9 15 or so we left with our "topless car". Gosh it's sooooo awsome riding in a topless car I'm telling ya! My first time actually this weekend and we did it whenever we drove. We always turned up the music reeeally loud, I opened my hair and we turned down all the window - most awsome feeling!! She has the coolest Caprio, sportscar and it's so funny when you see some guys looking all jealous when they saw us driving by in that car hihi... We stopped at a gas station where I checked out the coffeeprice - 2.80 and the coffee not that special so I took one of my goood and tasty Emmi Latte Macchiatos and (this is to make Cornelia jealous...) Ovo chocolatbars, sooo good!!! The tunnels all during the ride were annyoing though, sooo loud without the top and stinky... We survived anyways. Oh yeah, it's also really cool to watch the stars from the car without a top when there's no lights on the highway, so pretty! The best thing was though, close before Rieche we had Radio Basilisk on loud and guess what - they actually brought INCOMPLETE!!! I couldn't hold back and sang out of the bottom of my heart - into the quiet neighbourhood that was sleeping at 11.30, I didn't care...

Alrighty, now I have to go to bed. It's back to same ol' tomorrow morning and I really don't feel like being back already! Love you guys all, hope you had a good weekend too!!!

Wednesday, July 19, 2006

Hey guyyyyys!

Ok it's time to write a big giving thanks to god post again, haven't in a long time!

As most of you know, I HATED coming back here and if I would have known I have to stay till december I would have run away or something... God knows why he only tells us as much as we have to know for the time I realised that with this! Well in the beginning I felt totally lonely, hated the cold weather and didn't really know what to do. Then I got lotsa babysitting jobs, started loving those kids and babies again (Serfina hä Cornelia! ) and in my free time I just watched Gilmore Girls (borrowed from Debbie), Smallville and read harry Potter while it poured or snowed for days outside. But now god has taken over I'm telling ya! It already started with the World Cup. Could have been any year where I was gone but it was exactly this summer aaand Switzerland was in it! Suddenly we all became VERY patriotic, loved those swissguys, even I which is close to a miracle... Then some of you guys came and it got even better. Afterwards the real summer started. Olivia and i talked about it just recently. God knows how we both don't wanna be here but have to so he made us the biggest present he could have - e century heat summer!!! It's sooo cool, they said 2003 was the hottest summer in a century, this summer is 1.5 Celsius hotter - and it's not gonna change in August! We have temperatures in the high 90s today, another record! Most people complain and sit inside all the time if possible - Olivia and I start living with those temperatures. I do my stuff in the morning (laundry, cooking, cleaning, shopping etc) and in the afternoon usually mami takes over mischa and i go swimming. Every day this week, I'm LOVIN it!!! Monday and Wednesday, saturday and sunday I go with Olivia cause she has these afternoons off, then we swim our kilometer (20 laps) and talk alot and tan. The other afternoons I go alone to the women's pool where we have our certain "privileges" with no guys around (finally! hihi), swim and tan with my (Harry Potter 5) book and something sweet - something solid though cause chocolat would melt. Those that say christmas time is the most wonderful time of the year haven't really experienced summer yet, it's soooo pretty and perfect all around! I was reading yesterday night with the big door/window open. Outside were a bunch of teenagers with their radio playing, sitting on the bench and talking. Crickets "singing", waaarm air and -i was drinking icecoffee. I thought "ok the only thing missing to make it even more perfect is a bunch of friends now like those outside to hang out with and joke around and talk!" But that's about the only thing I miss at the moment, otherwise I'm happy with most stuff! Oh yeah and then even my favorite team ever won the worldcup, that's what put the whipcream on the coffee (swiss saying ). They were never world or european cup winners since I like them so this is a first and the best thing that could have happened!

So yeah, this is just to say thanks to god for all that he's given even though I never wanted to come here. But it's also a "I miss you guys!!!" for those that really don't know it yet or anymore. Would be the coolest to hang outside in the dark when it's so niiice and warm, going to the city and sitting into a coffee or going to a park and watching (in my case - I know SOME of you would join in huh Rach hihi ) the guys and girls there play Basketball, just something like that - summer activities. Oh yeah, the coolest thing is, now the outside movie theater is starting again! end of July till end of August they show the movies on a huge screen on Märtplatz or some other places. Costs something of course but I love those open air movie theaters so Olivia and I are going. this weekend i'm going to Eastswitzerland with her. First we go to the wedding of her exboyfriend (now just friend - uhm right, of course if he gets married hihi), then we'll go swimming in the beautiful Zürich lake. Sunday we'll go swimming in "Bodelake", another real pretty one, can't wait!

Well I miss you all toooons, see ya in -hm hold on, 5 months (gosh, eternity still!!) or some of you at the wedding next year I guess...

Luca Luca Luca Tooooni - alias Clarky :-P

So here's my very special treat for you my friends!
