| Uh, yeah. Just to let people know (not that anyone reads this thing) that, while I have a xanga, I mainly use my livejournal: melrudin.livejournal.com
I've been trying to repost things from my livejournal onto my xanga, but I tend to forget, so if you think I've died, I haven't...I've just been updating my livejournal instead ^^;; so, yeah
| | |
| I haven't updated in awhile. I will update about stuff...mainly Tekkoshocon later...tomorrow maybe. I don't know. :p Finals were this past week and then Monday and Tuesday. All my finals have been relatively easy. And I have one Monday, but it's going to be insanely easy. :)
I've really gotten into playing the game Fable (for the XBox) and it's such an amazing game!!!!!! It's so much fun! :)
And I'm so excited that they're now showing new episodes of Heroes. Last week's episode was awesome and I'm really excited about Monday's. (especially 'cause I'll be home to watch-it is incredibly fun to watch Heroes with my mom, dad, and brother-we make very strange comments XD ) my sister won't be home yet, though, 'cause her finals aren't for a few weeks.
So yeah, lately I have been reading everyone else's livejournals, I've just been too lazy to update my own...I don't know. *shrugs* It's not like I've been really busy or anything-I just have a lot on my mind. O.o I don't even know what I have on my mind, but apparently there's a lot of it.
I can hear random drunk people out the window now and it's really amusing-they sound like zombies. haha.
| Tekkoshocon was amazing!!! @_@ I'll update with pictures later, but
I'll just say now that it was soooo much fun! I spent way too much
money, though. >_> stupid bigger dealer room... I finally finished cleaning up all my stuff (though I can't find the green tea pocky I bought...alas, it was so yummy, too!)
Today
(i.e. Wednesday) is my birthday! which is the reason I had so much
money to spend at tekkoshocon-my relatives gave me money for my
birthday and then my parents agreed to pay for our (my sister and my)
hotel room. My parents are coming up at around 6:30 today before the
band concert this evening. We're going to go out to dinner before the
concert. :) Whee!
Most of my homework is done now, so I can relax (i.e. draw more). (^_^)
And
I really want to extend my deepest sorrows to those who were involved
in the shootings at Virginia Tech. There was a girl who went to my
high school who was injured in the shootings. She's going to be fine,
but she was shot three times in her French class. We weren't really
good friends, but she is such a nice girl and she was always fun to
talk to. I'm so glad she's okay....but I realize that not everyone in
the shooting is. That's such a horrible thing that happened...
| I am currently at Tekkoshocon-it's Friday night. We got here after the
dealer room closed, but I've already spent waaay too much money in
artist's alley. @_@ lots of adorable magnets and stickers and pins
and I also bought (so enbarrassed!) a Sephiroth doll...that used to be
a cabbage patch kids doll, but the artist changed it around to look
like Sephiroth and it's so adorable!! @_@ I also bought a How to
Glomp t-shirt. I'm spending waaaay too much money and I haven't even
been to the dealer's room yet!!! *dies* And I heard that this year,
since the dealer room is bigger, there's a whole section with JRock
stuff!!! (Tekko's a smaller convention, so it hasn't had much JRock in
the past, but we grew a lot this year). I can't wait to go there
tomorrow morning!!!!!!
And for a birthday present (my birthday's
on Wednesday), my parents agreed to pay for our hotel room. XDD Yea!
which means I have even more money to spend at Tekko! *headdesk* Any
sort of self-control I've ever had flies out the window at anime cons.
We
also had a lot of fun in the game room hanging out with random people
and playing FullMetal Alchemist and Bleach fighter games. (you can
play as Urahara and Urya...and pretty much any character you
want...except Kon)
My post probably sounds very spazzy, but I've
been looking forward to this convention since mid-last year...so yeah,
I'm really happy to be here right now. XDD This week's been REALLY
stressful, so it's nice to just be here having fun. :) Also, I met
some of my friends here who I haven't seen since high school!!!
*spazz* I'm so excited to see them again!
We (my sister and
I) tried to sing Cruel Angel's thesis (evangelion theme song) today for
Karaoke, but the karaoke person forgot to download the file I emailed
her, so we're going to sing at the karaoke session tomorrow at noon.
This post probably makes no sense...but that's alright!! XDD I'M AT TEKKOSHOCON!!!
| Last night during Astronomy Lab, there was a huge blackout that
apparently spanned a rather large area of the city around campus. So
we ended up leaving lab early since we couldn't see anything. ^^;;
(everyone had been using their cell phones for light) I was actually a
little annoyed that lab was canceled (not that it could have been
helped) 'cause I have to miss next week's lab for our Wind Ensemble
concert and next week's lab is the last lab of the semester...so I want
to have as little to make up as possible. >_> The electricity
was down from 8:30 to...well, at least until whenever I went to bed
which was around midnight. The dorm right next to ours had electricity
from around 9:30, but ours didn't. O.o (they're literally RIGHT next
to us-I can see directly in the windows of all the third floor rooms
that are facing us)
I just used my flashlight for the rest of
the night to finish up some stuff: I wrote out and drew the cover for
my French children's story that we have to write and illustrate, and
finished the Astronomy stuff that we were doing in lab before the power
outage. (it took a really long time, though, since it's supposed to be
done in a group and I did it all by myself)
There's an article about the blackout here: http://www.the-review.com/news/article/1847081
and a facebook group for it: http://facebook.com/group.php?gid=2337996027
This part from the article about sums it up:
All
available police and fire units were sent to Simpson Street where a
utility pole near Mount Union College's Hoover Price Campus Center was
burning. As yet unconfirmed reports, Votaw added, were that a transformer had toppled off the burning pole. An hour later, bright embers and an occasional flame could be seen at the top of the pole. One
witness said a cross member about 15 feet from the top of the utility
pole was burning and eventually let go shortly after firefighters
arrived, allowing the wires to cross. That bought down a high voltage
wire and bathed the area in a shower of sparks.
I didn't
actually see this-the room where my Astronomy lab is is on the other
side of campus from the campus center-I just went straight from the lab
back to my dorm and the campus center is in the opposite
direction...but it sounds rather crazy. O.o
I probably shouldn't be typing this now-I have waaaay too much work to do-but I just felt like sharing this. ::p
to do: Study from Astronomy test tomorrow Study for Japanese quiz tomorrow Work on speech for tomorrow get ready for Tekkoshocon this weekend Work on group presentation for Monday Work on huge insane final project for Religion next Thursday work on French children's story figure out summer class stuff work on my study abroad applications work on paper for Education due next Thursday
