Our day started off at 6:05 am. Joe Nicols' "Tequila makes her clothes fall off" woke us up. lol, yay for funky alarm ringtones on cellphones! Once we got up and got moving, we made it down to the bus station around 7:45-ish. After waiting an hour to get tickets, we got on the bus and headed up to NYC!!
On the way up, we found out that the bus' AC didn't work. So, when the bus driver took a 15 min break to fill up the tank and to stretch in NJ, he opened the emergency exit roof door to allow us some air...which it made it feel 10 times better. Traffic also jammed up on us right before we entered NY.
Then the bus dropped us off in Chinatown. Well, dumb me didn't know there was an E. Broadway in Chinatown. So, the directions that I had gotten off of mapquest were completely useless. We ended up walking up through Chinatown to find a subway that would take us to 51st (the venue was on 52nd). So, we hopped onto the subway and took it up, which we found that was way more cooler than walking. ^^* When the subway dropped us off, we walked majority of the way down 52nd until we reached the venue, where we met up with
blind_aiko . ^^ We sat down our stuff, met more people, and chatted for about 5 hours. I think it was funny how many Dir en grey fans there were. If one of us spotted a Deftones fan, we'd turn to the group and gasp, "Omg...I just saw a Deftones fan!" And then the rest of us would gasp in return, then burst in a fit of laughter.
Once the doors opened at 7 pm, we all ran like hell (well, walked fast in Security's eyes) into Roseland. On the way in, I realized that they had a Dir en grey vinyl sticker thing that could go on the car window. I made a mental note that I had to get that on my way out. But, after being patted down and De's bag being searched, we made a mad dash into the hall. I got second row in the mosh!! And I have brusies from trying to keep it.
Fall of Troy was good. You couldn't hear a word the vocalist/guitarist was singing, so the whole time, all I heard was a screaming guitar, bass, and loud drums. But they weren't as bad as I had thought they were going to be. But, the vocalist kept teasing us saying, "You want Dir en grey?!" The audience cheers. The bassist would laugh and the vocalist turned back on the mike, "Well, we've got two more songs! So, you can see Dir en grey after those!"
...And those songs would last F.O.R.E.V.E.R. Just when you thought one song was over....no, they would start right back up again.
Then, just after the roadies tuned up and set up Dir's instruments, the lights dimmed. The most pit got twice as crowded, and the crowd roared, chanting Dir en grey over and over. There was this cute little Japanese girl that was next to me, probably as tall as Lena and way smaller in weight, and De, the lady beside us, two other girls in front of me, and I were trying to protect this girl to keep her from getting crushed. It didn't work too well, cause there was this black haired (bitch whore) who kept putting her elbow in my face, trying to get closer to the stage. I'll explain more on her later.
Once again, I don't remember the list of songs they did. I do remember that they did Concieved Sorrow, 艶かしき安息、躊躇いに微笑み (Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tamerai ni Hohoemi), Merciless Cult, The Final, Dead Tree and Grief. I think 凌辱の雨 (Ryoujoko no Ame) was played, but I'm not 100% sure. I especially remember Grief, because I almost passed out during it, I was getting so crushed.
During the concert though, the black haired (bitch whore) decided she wanted De's spot right behind me. De stopped her, and the bitch decides to spit her gum into De's hair. Then she proceeds to try and push me out of the way and only when Grief came on did I let her, because I just got so weak I couldn't stop her. But, during one of Kyo's accapella's, she started screaming, "Shinya! I love you Shinya!" ....and it's one of those things were you DON'T scream and hollar out during Kyo's accapella's. We were trying to tell her that and she was all, "I don't give if Kyo's singing!" Then we were trying to leave after Dir (only because we had to catch the bus), she ended up dragging De and I both out and wondered why De and I were telling her to let go. She almost turned around to hit De, and I stepped in between and glared at her. Stupid bitch.
I didn't the chance to see Missy, sadly. I kinda wanted to. Just to laugh.
We took a taxi back to Chinatown and waited on the bus. While we were waiting for the bus to take off, De and I talked about how it didn't really look like the guys were having fun, except Kyo. Kyo really got into the concert. But, they didn't interact with the crowd, they didn't throw water, nothing. And I like Die's blonde hair. He's still a better red head, but the blonde doesn't look bad.
All in all, it was a good concert. I just need a shower and some food now and I'll be good.
