Life in general

Hi everyone!  It's been a while.  I'm back in the USA and in school now.  My first attempt to take an art class in college failed, so wish me luck on the second one.  My first art class here was full, and because I am not an art MAJOR, they let other art majors in ahead of me.  It's true I don't need to be there in the grade sense, but I did NEED to be there after all.

That's what I found out.

Luckily, there's an art center nearby, and they are offering art classes starting tomorrow.  So, I signed up for an illustration class to help me get my comic strip ideas back on track.  It's an 8 week class, and after that, I can take a caricature class.

I just hope this give me something to look forward to.  It's been a little hard recently because all of my classes are hardcore work and no fun at all.  I don't even want to go to class or do my homework because there's nothing to look forward to, but I won't let that stop me.

Wish me luck for my art.  I could really use it.

I'm in Japan!!!!

Here are a few photos.  They aren't the best, but they are just a few of over 3 GB of pictures.

We are staying in Hiratsuka, which is in the middle eastern part of Japan.  Tokyo is about an hour away, and Kyoto is about 3 hours by shinkansen (Really, REALLY fast train).  This weekend Hiratsuka is hosting possibly the biggest Tanabata festival in Japan.  I will take lots of pictures.  Hopefully, it won't rain this weekend.

Miyajima (I think that's the name) - Heavily infested with sacred deer.

This next one is Enoshima - Amazing scenery and great coastline.  I will definitely come back!

This final picture is from the Inari shrine, which is famous for the holy foxes.  I will put up other pictures when I get time...

I have been extremely busy with research and writing papers, all of which are on this "exploring Japan" class.  We've done more paperwork than exploring... but that's for a different post.
