I can't sleep! Took a nap after class..so maybe that's why...or it could be brittney is within "i can hear her breathing distance" and she's on the phone talking.

Today was pretty slow. I sat in front of the t.v. for hours today watching the news. It is soo sad what is going on in Louisiana and the other affected areas. I just hope that all that can be done is being done. These people are going to be needing so much. Besides a place to stay and food to eat right now..they will eventually need probably new jobs..and new homes..I can't imagine starting all over like that..Hopefully they can eventually get things somewhat back to normal..but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I know so many of them probably are turning to God and questioning him right now..I hope He comforts them and show them His love. So many people are out there praying for the victims.

In class and watching the news I know alot about whats going on. 80% of New Orleans is submerged..but that isn't too crazy when you learn that 70% of New Orleans is under sea level already..normally. What kept water out was a bunch of levees and due to the hurricane and storm surge which was a 25 ft high wall of water many of them were destroyed..that's why it is so bad and the water is still rising in some places. So people were being rescued all day on TV from roofs..It's crazy..no AC..no water..All of this stagnant water is expected to cause outbreaks of Typhoid and other diseases. So besides the death toll from the natural disaster..its gonna get bigger. There is no electricity at all and alot of forms of communication are impossible. The looting is a problem..but there's nothing they can do about it. They just need to keep helping people survive. The water has lots of gas that leaked or spilled into it causing the buildings that are flooded to burn. Today they were saying a historic French quarter was burning. The fire fighters came but the hydrants didn't work. People are just trying to get away from there. Houston sent 500 buses to bring people to the Astrodome..cuz at the Superdome conditions were getting really bad..overcrowded with the water coming in..toilets overflowing..I wonder how all of this will unfold..i could probably keep going on about this..but not going to..lol.britts sleepin now and typing is loud. so goodnight! <3
