dropping things, hugging little ones, having my legs fall asleep, daydreaming, feeling something in my eye, getting tongue-tied over certain words such as... well never mind, I can't spell them! making a fool of myself while playing volleyball, making people laugh with my weird and unattractive facial expressions, and having the most beautiful smile out of all the TAs at Arborbrook(we'll not mention the fact that I'm the only TA)! | i'm supposing its time for a little update.... school is coming to a close. our last day is june 1st. i am currently the mother of 15 baby chicks. they are one week old and as adorable as ever. and i about die everytime a child roughly picks one up! i discovered i am very protective! the children had a blast naming them. we did it in alphabetical order. :o) (you gotta make it as educational as possible!) alpha, belle, chelly, darcy, emma, fred, gracie, hockey, ichabod, jasmine, kipper, laney, martial, nugget, oscar, piwi, quinton, richard, and sasha. 19 actually hatched, but 4 of them didn't live past a day... which was very emotional. we've all learned so much from incubating, hatching, and nursing these chicks. how can anyone say there is no God??? next fall i will be arborbrook's 2nd grade teacher. I AM SO EXCITED! the Lord has blessed me so much here. and i couldn't be happier. i will have 8 little students, and will thankfully still go by 'Miss Ashlie'. the thought of Ms. MacDonald makes me feel so old! i'm not sure what the summer holds for me yet. or, i should say, what the Lord has for my summer. :o) i know i will be tutoring, and preparing for the school year, but that's about it. but i do know for sure... alissa will be home! i have adjusted some what to being alone. i'm never alone though. Jesus is always with me. :o) but it will be sooo nice to have her back! well, that's my update. my children, chicks, and Jesus... that's my life right now. :o)
| !I'M BACK! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years! I know I did. Although I was pretty dissapointed with the rain on Christmas day. *sigh* I shall have to wait yet another year for a white Christmas. We took Alissa to the airport bright and early New Years morning. What a way to start the new year... in tears! I went to bed and slept a while and then jumped in the mazda and drove down to Atlanta to spend the night with Angi. I felt like a 'big girl' driving to Georgia all by myself. ;o) Amber and Christopher ate dinner with us last night for the last time. They are moving away on Saturday. Talk about everyone leaving at the same time!!!! I ended up crying myself to sleep last night. It's not fun saying goodnight to empty beds, and knowing that they will be empty for a long time. | | |
| gone till 2007Hello All! I’m writing to let you know that I will be gone until January. No, I’m not actually going anywhere… but I’ve made a commitment to the Lord and to my Bible study girls that I am going to fast from myspace for 3 months. This does not mean that I think myspace is evil! We all had to choose something to fast from… and because of my already strict diet for health reasons there wasn’t much left to take out! So, I don’t want you to think that I’m purposefully ignoring you by not commenting or updating or messaging! Feel free to e-mail me anytime. Know that I love you all, and I hope you have a wonderful fall, and a blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas! I’ll talk to you in 2007! Many Blessings, Ashlie | | |
| Last weekend we went to Lake Whitewater to relax. It's close to Lake Keowee and Table Rock. It was so much fun!!! We went hiking Saturday morning up to some water falls. And I am very proud to say that I hiked to the very top of this one. :o)
This is us at the top... we had fun just sitting up there singing praise songs.

This is us at the bottom...

Then we went to a sliding rock. The water was FREEEEEZING!
Alissa had a little bit of a hard time...
Course......... so did I...
And so did Angi!
It was a good weekend. :o) Right now I am in Atlanta. I just finished a teacher's conference this afternonn, and now I'm enjoying time with Lissa and Angi. Hope everyone has a great weekend! God bless.
| Teacher's Prayer I wanted to teach my students how to live this life on earth. To face its struggles and its strife and to improve their worth. Not just the lesson in a book or how the rivers flow, But how to choose the proper path wherever they may go. To understand eternal truth and know the right from wrong And gather all the beauty of a flower and a song. For if I helped the world to grow in wisdom and in grace Then I feel that I have won and I have filled my place. And so I asked your guidance, God, that I have done my part For character and confidence and happiness of heart.
