Dear God... this is my prayer tonight

dear God i tonight for the first time with all my heart rebuke the things of sin... the things of self... im declare MYSELF FREE in the name of the lamb Jesus Christ i never want to go back... i make no assumptinos about tomorow but as for today i am clean

I beg forgivenesss for all those ive slighted betrayed or hurt in the past i meant no harm please lord give me the pure and renewed heart against this sin and the spirit to not do it again, Lord i pray for clean hands.

Lord i really feel a callinga a conviction for people who i havent forgiven... lord please forgive me for not letting certain things go. lord right now in this place i let them go

Tongues

Everyone... hey....

Tongues... ive gotten into some discussions about this lately.. thought id post what ive found to be truth...

Lets start with the basics...  Tongues (at the very basic) is speaking in a wierd language...

This manifests itself in different ways, and i wish i could find a different word to differentiate, because some of it is COMEPLETELY different from the rest.

I found three different areas of this phenomon....

1. God speaking through a person... this is God using this person as a bullhorn... speaking to the church in an unintelligible language. Giving a message directly from God... Being as this message is unintelligible it Should be followed by a message from someone with the Gift of Translation....

2. A person ministering to a people in a local language, without even knowing any of that language.  That would be like me putting you in China and telling you to tell them about God... out of faith in God you just start telling everybody... and they understand... 

Acts 2 6-11(NIV) 
                             6When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language. 7Utterly amazed, they asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? 8Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native language? 9Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11(both Jews and converts to Judaism Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!"

3 Praying, Singing, in the Spirit, This is YOUR soul crying out to God, it is a willing removal of your mind's control of your actions and gives way to the soul... our soul dialogues with God, and we should pray for mindful interpretation, it allows our spiritual pains which we cannot even comprehend to be healed ... to be taken before God,

1 Corinthians 14:13-17 (Message)
                              13So, when you pray in your private prayer language, don't hoard the experience for yourself. Pray for the insight and ability to bring others into that intimacy. 14If I pray in tongues, my spirit prays but my mind lies fallow, and all that intelligence is wasted. 15So what's the solution? The answer is simple enough. Do both. I should be spiritually free and expressive as I pray, but I should also be thoughtful and mindful as I pray. I should sing with my spirit, and sing with my mind. 16If you give a blessing using your private prayer language, which no one else understands, how can some outsider who has just shown up and has no idea what's going on know when to say "Amen"? 17Your blessing might be beautiful, but you have very effectively cut that person out of it.

Now there are different purposes for each...

1= For ministry in the church... to other believers, a message of guidence for the church 1 Corinthians 12 :4-11

2= For ministry to the world... missions feild (these two can overlap in purpose i believe both are refered to in in 1 corinthians 12 :4-11

4There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

 7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,^[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.^[b] 11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

3 Now Paul is talk begins to speak of a differnt phenomenon in chapter 14 verse 2 of 1 Corinthians

2For anyone who speaks in a tongue^[a] does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit

     and even goes so far as to say verse 18

I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.

     he was serious about this! he understood it to be something that is very important to his relationship with God...

      and look above to what he said in 1 Corinthians 14: 13 IT SAYS WHEN!!!  it says WHEN you speak in tongues...

This is for everyone, anyone can do this, and EVERYONE was made too, anyone can speak in tongues, your spirit craves it!

Passion!

Did not our hearts burn within us, while he spoke with us?- i want to have a burning heart

The only way to develope a heart that is truly PERMANTLY buning for GODis to submit your spirit to the word of God

but not just 'religously', not just reading..... the way to truly set your heart afire was ascribed by Paul in Ephesians 

5:18 Do not be drunk w/ wine which leads to debauchery(Debauchery= indulgence in sensual pleasures, or those of the flesh, in some cases it means orgy, it doesnt say 'can lead' or 'might lead' it says 'leads', Drunkeness leads to sin, anyway thats not the point) Instead be filled with the Spirit. 19 speak to one another with psalms hymns and spiritual songs. Make music IN YOUR HEART to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

this will all lead to verse 17'therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lords will is.'

also in Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

the Lords will is his Word.

In other words guys Music (not pillar TFK or Underoath, not even RELIENT K)is the way prescribed by Paul (one of the fathers of the church and a very spiritual man with God's Holy Spirit (in First Corinthian he revealed that he spoke in tongues more than anyone in the Church of Corinth! there were estimated to be up to 10,00 people in this church 14:18)in order to fully understand God's word.  Music opens our emotions, it deeply effects our emotions which are directly linked to our spirituality. with out our spirit we would feel no true emotions. We are creatures of music.

Now guys get this the way to cement God's passion for you into your passion for Him is by (this is amazing) SINGING His Word BACK TO HIM!!! So when your doing your devotions, 'create music in your heart'  and it will lead to a deeper Spiritual understanding of what God is saying to you, knowing what the words mean, and UNDERSTANDING what the Word means, ARE COMEPLETELY DIFFERENT

The full verse i Quoted above is Luke 24:32 They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

That is our Goal, to aquire a burning heart through SPIRITUAL dialogue between us and Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Because then the Living Word (Christ) WILL reveal to us fully, deeply meaningfully and LASTINGLY the written word(BIBLE) and our Hearts will be set afire!
