It's Coming Next Month!!

Hello everyone!  Yes, it IS coming next month.  The event you've all been waiting for...

The 6th International Symposium
for Hyperbaric Oxygen And The Future of Healing

Probably, most of you have never even heard of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.  But I feel compelled to mention it because of the results that are coming from it.  You can even go to YouTube.com and search HBOT or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and watch a few videos.  You better have a Kleenex.  It is so moving the healing that is happening.  And best of all, with no drugs!

Everyone is welcome at the symposium, from patients or patient advocates to Doctors and all medical professionals.  Here's the scoop:

Donald Gabriel-Jolly, Ph.D, Chairman
Richard A. Neubauer Research Institute

Well here's the link since I can't seem to get it to work!

Love,

Sheri

Arnold wants you to call...

Hi Friends,
Governor Schwarzenegger wants to hear your opinion regarding the California Supreme Court ruling on Prop. 22.  It is important that many people call the Governor's office this weekend to make our voices heard on this matter.  Make sure to listen to the telephone menu to make sure the "hot issue" has not changed.

Call his office (916-445-2841) and listen to the automated voice prompts.
You will be asked if you want to voice your opinion on a "current hot issue", press 5.
Then it ask if you want to voice your opinion on the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage, press 1.
Then it ask you if you support the ruling, press 1.
If you oppose the ruling press 2.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
State Capitol Building
Sacramento, CA 95814
Phone: 916-445-2841
Fax: 916-558-3160 ( new number )

*I am sure there is life going on here in my home underneath all these "hot" issues!  There is, in fact, so much I can hardly see straight...such as spending the last three weeks at the Community Theater for the boys' play, spending hours stuck in traffic yesterday because of the big wildfire in town and the freeway being closed, spending most of my time on our new little business, spending 7 hours driving today with four boys who were grounded from gameboys (a 4 hour drive, btw).  When am I supposed to do the grocery shopping, bill paying, house cleaning and general boy cuddling...oh, and resting?  I'm still trying to figure it out.  Help!  And I miss my friends here!
love,
Sheri

What will you do?

I couldn't say it any better myself, so...

Subject: Thoughts about the Supreme Court’s mandate of homosexual marriage

As you know by now, the California Supreme Court ruled that Proposition 22 (passed in 2000 by over 61% of the voters) is unconstitutional and it ordered that the State of California must allow homosexual couples to marry.  Four members of the seven-member court have now imposed their will upon all Californians.

While it is tempting to ring our hands at the sad state of affairs, the real question is “What will you do now?”  There are concrete steps that can and need to be taken to reverse this activist court’s decision.

But before I lay out those concrete steps, let me give you a prediction.  The liberal dominated legislature, which has passed so much pro-homosexual legislation in the recent past (like SB 777) without any exemptions for people with religious or other objections, will pass a law prohibiting anyone who performs marriage ceremonies in California (including Churches) from refusing to perform them for homosexual couples.  If (when) that comes to pass, Churches that refuse to perform these types of ceremonies will be subject to lawsuits and, perhaps, criminal fines and penalties.  And this is only one example.

So this issue is not just about homosexuals getting to use the word marriage for their relationships.  Its about their ability to force their concept of truth and their viewpoints on the rest of society in a way that uses the force of law to silence those that have sincerely held beliefs against the homosexual lifestyle.  In other words, your first amendment rights to free speech and religion are very much at stake here.

So what will you do?  Seeing the possibility of this decision by the California Supreme Court, a petition drive was begun several months ago to place this issue on the November ballot but this time as an amendment to the California Constitution.  It will be the same wording as Prop. 22 but as an amendment to the constitution rather than just the Family Code.  It will provide that marriage in California shall only be between one man and one woman.  The important net effect is it will overturn yesterday’s California Supreme Court decision.   Recently the proponents of this initiative turned in over 1.1 million signatures and it is expected to qualify for the November 4th ballot.  The battle over this initiative will be fierce and costly.  Pro-homosexual groups like Equality California will put up literally tens of millions of dollars to defeat the initiative. They will out spend the proponents of the initiative by several times.

You can help.  First by being informed by going to www.Protectmarriage.com and learn about the initiative.  By learning more about the initiative you can inform others about it and encourage them to vote for it in November. You can also financially contribute to the Protect Marriage campaign at the web site.  I know the people who are organizing this effort and your money will not go to waste or for someone’s big salary.  You may also have some time to donate to the campaign.  The web site has a place to sign up for that too.  Of course your prayers for this campaign are vital.  Also, talk to your Pastor about this situation and the Protectmarriage.com campaign.

The second concrete step you can do is support the petition drive to roll back SB 777, the pro-homosexual school instruction law passed last fall.  SB 777 basically provides that no school instruction or program can reflect negatively on the homosexual lifestyle.  In other words, NO dissent for any reason is allowed.  The petition drive is to place on a future ballot for the voters to decide if this law should be repealed. You can find out more about the petition drive and download a petition at http://www.saveourkids.net.  Again your prayers are vitally needed for this effort too.

If we all work together and pass the marriage amendment (Protectmarriage.com) initiative and are able to place the anti-SB 777 initiative on a future ballot, this will send a strong signal that the people of this state will not be ruled by unelected judges.

Did God make a mistake?

Brothers and sisters, let us pray for this brother and sister in Christ, Dale and Leilani Neumann.  These precious people are personal friends of mine.  No matter what error they have made, let us hold them up in prayer.  And especially the remaining, exceptionally kind and godly children who have been placed with a relative.  Let's not judge them harshly.  Let's just lift them before the throne of God, and ask Him to somehow bring beauty from ashes.  We can ask ourselves...do we believe God can make a mistake?

Here I leave you with a quote from a favorite book of mine, The Christian's Secret of a Happy Life, written by Hannah Whitall Smith

One of the greatest obstacles to an unwavering experience in the interior life is the difficulty of seeing God in everything.  People say, "I can easily submit to things that come from God; but I cannot submit to man, and most of my trials and crosses come through human instrumentality."  Or they say, "It is all well enough to talk of trusting; but when I commit a matter to God, man is sure to come in and disarrange it all;  and while I have no difficulty in trusting God, I do see serious difficulties in the way of trusting men."

This is no imaginary trouble, but is of vital importance; and if it cannot be met, it does really make the life of faith an impossible and visionary theory.  For nearly everything in life comes to us through human instrumentalities, and most of our trials are the result of somebody's failure, or ignorance, or carelessness, or sin.  We know God cannot be the author of these things; and yet, unless He is the agent in the matter, how can we say to Him about it, "Thy will be done"?

Besides, what good is there in trusting our affairs to God, if after all man is to be allowed to come in and disarrange them;  and how is it possible to live by faith, if human agencies, in which it would be wrong and foolish to trust, are to have a prevailing influence in moulding our lives?

Moreover, things in which we can see God's hand always have a sweetness in them that consoles while it wounds; but the trials inflicted by man are full of nothing but bitterness.

What is needed, then, is to see God in everything, and to receive everything directly from His hands, with no intervention of second causes; and it is to just this that we must be brought before we can know an abiding experience of entire abandonment and perfect trust.  Our abandonment must be to God, not to man; and our trust must be in Him, not in any arm of flesh, or we shall fail at the first trial.

The question here confronts us at once, "But is God in everything, and have we any warrant from the Scripture for receiving everything from His hands without regarding the second causes that may have been instrumental in bringing them about?"  I answer to this, unhesitatingly, Yes.  To the children of God, everything comes directly from their Father's hand, no matter who or what may have been the apparent agents.  There are no "second causes" for them.

The whole teaching of Scripture asserts and implies this.  Not a sparrow falls to the ground without our Father.  The very hairs of our head are all numbered.  We are not to be careful about anything, because our Father cares for us.  We are not to avenge ourselves, because our Father has charged Himself with our defense.  We are not to fear, for the Lord is on our side.  No one can be against us, because He is for us.  We shall not want, for he is our Shepherd.  When we pass through the rivers they shall not overflow us, and when we walk through the fire we shall not be burned, because He will be with us.  He shuts the mouths of lions, that they cannot hurt us.  "He delivereth and rescueth."  " He changeth the times and the seasons; He removeth kings and setteth up kings."  A man's heart is in His hand, and, "as the rivers of water, he turneth it whithersoever He will."  He ruleth over all the kingdoms of the heathen; and in His hand there is power and might, "so that none is able to withstand" Him.  "He ruleth the raging of the sea; when the waves thereof arise, He stilleth them."  He "bringeth the counsel of the heathen to naught; He maketh the devices of the people of no effect."  "Whatsoever the Lord pleaseth, that doeth He, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and all deep places."  "Lo, these are parts of his ways:  but how little a portion is heard of Him?  But the thunder of His power who can understand?"  "Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not neither is weary?  There is no searching of His understanding."
•••••
To my own mind, these scriptures, and many others like them, settle forever the question as to the power of "second causes" in the life of the children of God.  Second causes must all be under the control of our Father, and not one of them can touch us except with His knowledge and by His permission.  It may be the sin of man that originates the action, and therefore the thing itself cannot be said to be the will of God; but by the time it reaches us it has become God's will for us, and must be accepted as directly from His hands.  No man or company of men, no power in earth or heaven, can touch that soul which is abiding in Christ, without first passing through His encircling presence, and receiving the seal of His permission.  If God be for us, it matters not who may be against us; nothing can disturb or harm us, except He shall see that it is best for us, and shall stand aside to let it pass.

In Christs love,
Sheri

Do you know someone who suffers...

...from Autism, a brain injury, seizures, Lyme disease or a host of other stuff, take a look at my friend's blog about hyperbaric oxygen therapy.  I've heard about it through the years, but she's been updating me and the information is so encouraging.  Here is one of the docs she's been working with... http://hbot.tv  Just wanted to share with you.  God bless you all.
