In Loving Memory of

Casey Hanes
7.23.85-8.24.05

Casey was a beautiful person--inside && out. You could talk to him about anything & he would listen and often he offered some really good advice.

His smile could light up any room & brighten any ugly day; his eyes were like bright, blue marbles that seemed to seer right through you & shine with a sort of kindness, compassion and respect for everything and everyone around him. He was serious a lot of the time but when it was appropriate he was one of the funniest people to be around. He was so much fun. . . && seemingly wise beyond his years...

He loved his family && friends more than ANYTHING && was always ready and willing to help out someone with anything big or small...

We all miss him greatly & we will never, ever forget the beautiful memories each of us have with him. We LOVE you Casey!!

..GaH..

sorry.. Haven't been on here for awhile!!

I've been using MySpace a lot lately....... I actually like it a lot better than Xanga. Xanga is .. well dead. Myspace pretty much swallowed it whole && now I know why.. it's a lot cooler & easier to use! I'm still going to post poetry && stuff up here. Have had a lot of time for writing but I haven't written a whole lot.. I have too much other stuff jumbled in my mind. This whole month has been a drag... with papaw sick && a lot of other things. The only good news is my new job @ the cafe, which I am btw really enjoying.....

Thanks to ya'll who have kept my family, grandpaw & I in your prayers.. It is greatly appreciated because lord only knows we need it!!

All my Love,

Emily

Never choke in a restaurant in the South...

Two hillbillies walk into a bar. While having a shot of whiskey, they
talk about their moonshine operation. Suddenly, a woman at a nearby
table, who is eating a sandwich, begins to cough. After a minute or so,
it becomes apparent that she is in real distress. One of the hillbillies
looks at her and says, "Kin ya swallar?" The woman shakes her head no.
"Kin ya breathe?" The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no.
The hillbilly walks over to the woman, lifts up the back of her dress,
yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a lick
with his tongue. The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm
and the obstruction flies out of her mouth. As she begins to breathe
again, the hillbilly walks slowly back to the bar. His partner says, "Ya
know, I'd heerd of that there 'Hind Lick Maneuver', but I ain't never
seen nobody do it!"♥

Under The Weather!!!!

Haven't been feeling well lately. . . I've been having really severe anxiety attacks & Hyperventilating. I'm going to go to the doctor soon to find out what I can do about it. I'm told it's probably due to stress but sometimes they happen when I'm not doing anything I would consider stressful. It's really crazy. Other than that I'm doing alrite!

I never had bought anything on ebay before so the other day I bid on some books & won the auction so I'm about to go to the post office and purchase a money order and send it off. I just wanna see how this whole thing works. As you can tell the latter part of my summer has been pretty boring!

I FINALLY made a Myspace. If you really want to see it go to http://www.myspace.com/emkris13 .

Started working at Spruell's cafe Saturday night and so I'm going to be working there on the weekends and then on Wednesdays starting after the 23rd.

Papaw still isn't doing too well. I went over to my friend Mary's house and stayed with her Saturday after work & we went to church in Atlanta Sunday morning. Then I stayed Sunday night with her and Monday we went to Texarkana before she brought me back to my Pawpaw's. He has trouble taking his medicine now and we think one of his kidneys may have already began to fail. Please keep my Papaw in your prayers as well as me and the rest of my family.

I love yall....Drop me some sweet comments! lol

Paper Suitcase

Believe

this self soothe world a-flame

with malice, maybe,

started spinning

far too fast to soothe a mournful soul.

Silent

if you haven't heard

tears echo in their lovely laughter;

voices sweetley singing guarded,

tedious by time.

Reflecting

by the talking trees;

dew streaked grass, a slippery seat.

'It's almost time for Johnny Jump-ups',

someone said so long ago.

Voices

so sweet, so tender in their tone;

packed inside my paper suitcase,

'How I love you! How I've missed you!'

'And how's my baby? So glad you came. . .'

". . .I was the guy

That could drink you under the table.

I was the last one standing

When the whiskey was gone

I was always ready,

willing and able.

You know I did it right

when it come to doin wrong. . .

That your parents warned you about

I was everything you wanted to be

So when I'm dead and gone

Will you still sing my song

and will you remember me?"

Today I bought a new book called "The Englisher". It was like ten bucks at wal-mart. I couldn't find anything I wanted so I just settled for something that looked like it might be a semi-good read. I just need something to keep me busy at night when I'm at Pawpaw's and I love to read anyway. Before I read that I have to start this book my aunt wanted me to read about faith. I finished Queen of the Damned today. I really like Anne Rice && so I'll probably buy some more of her books to read sometime. . .

I've cleaned all day today at my Aunt Syl's in ATL. We got the guest room really cleaned up and removed most of the clutter from the toys and things their grandkids have already out grown. We also hung a new pair of curtains and a picture over the bed that she will probably bring back because she didn't like it as well as she thought

I stayed there last night since Liz was staying at Papaw's and I will stay at Papaw's house tonite. I'm about to begin a list for a CD I'm going to get Westley to burn for me! I know he'll be excited about that. . .

Before going to Aunt Syl's house last night, I went out and ate at Spruell's Cafe. I'm still full from all the catfish & bean soup. I saw my Mom && Wyatt today when they brought Hunter and Liz back from their trip to Texarkana today. Hunter went on home with them and Liz is still here with me. Hunt got a Dukes of Hazzard DVD with I believe twenty episodes on it so we are in for a lot of YeeHawwww!!!!!!!

Aunt Patsy said Papaw didn't sleep very well last night, or not much at all. He hasn't slept much today either. We had hamburgers cooked on the grill this afternoon and he said he didn't believe he was hungry. We are going to see if he feels like eating here after while & I hope he does. He's been lying on the couch for a long time today watching Fox News & I visited with him for a while. We take him to the doctor Monday I believe. I am praying that his spirits stay up and that he will stay positive. I am praying that I can stay positive. Today hasn't been a very good day for me but I am hoping that I can get a good night's rest so that I will feel better tomorrow but I'm not sure I will get it. I've missed a lot of people lately. Some that aren't even gone. Some that are. && I've missed MaMaw a lot today.

I'm gone.

*Emily*

" . . .And I've still got your face
Painted on my heart
Carved upon my soul
Etched upon my memory. . .

. . .And I've got your kiss
Still
Burning on my lips
The touch of you're fingertips
Is left so deep inside of me. . . "
