About Making It Home Magazine...
Society has been telling women for years that having a career is the only path to fulfillment and happiness, and that being a wife, a mother, and a homemaker not only wasn’t “work”, but was demeaning and a waste of potential. This philosophy has now been shaping our culture for decades, and we have to ask, “Is it working?” Are our marriages stronger? Are our children productive and civil? Do women who have bought into this philosophy feel the fulfillment and happiness that they were promised?
The answer we have heard from many disillusioned women around the world is “No”, and there is a growing trend of these same women who are now walking away from the impossible “do it all, have it all” way of life that they’ve been told they must lead as they instead follow their hearts to live the life that they feel they should lead. In doing so, they not only face the scorn of many in our society, but also the realization that, in many instances, they simply don’t know what to do or how to do it. We want to help.
Our Vision
A society that values family above all other worldly things
Our Mission
To support & encourage women who have chosen to devote themselves entirely to their families
Our Priorities
1) God – First, the unbreakable foundation
2) Marriage – The greatest gift parents can give their children is to love each other
3) Children – Secure & happy in the safety of their family structure
4) Home – The physical shell built around the framework of the family
What You Won’t Find Here
* Perfection. While we do make every effort to “put it all together” in an attractive, professional format, Making It Home is about real stories from real people who are speaking from the heart. We would rather our writers focus more on what they are trying to say than how grammatically correct they say it. We would simply ask that you dwell on the message and forgive any errors.
*Advertising. We want to speak freely, not worry about offending an advertiser. We want to feed your heart, not tell you what to buy. We want to do something good, not make millions. Advertising just doesn’t fit in these pages. However, if you really, really need a fix, we do have a page on our web site for select sponsors.
