He Said She Said: The Honey-Do List

Copy of IMG_4385a

Well, Blaine is at it again!

Check out his version of the He Said on The Honey-Do List and then come back to read the She Said reply (see below)...

...Now don't cheat!  You have to read his portion first or it won't make sense!  I think it would be great fun to leave him a little note in support of his wittle fingers working to the bone!    Our boys have such fragile and delicate egos you know!

She Said:

I am not sure who Blaine thinks he is kidding but it is certainly not me! It did not take long for me to figure out Blaine's little game and I will tell you, it has not been easy letting him think he is getting away with his Tom Foolery! After awhile I found it to be much easier just to take matters into my own hands. You see, while Blaine is looking busy and spending so much time and effort into looking as if he has actually done something, I have already done it! Yes ladies, a simple phone call to our local handyman will get results much faster and less painfully than trying to constantly remind our darling men of the Honey-Do List. If Blaine had actually taken the time to look at the list and the task before him, he would have known that the job had been done months ago!

The humor I find in all of this is the lengths he will go to in order to make me think he has worked his wittle fingers to the bone. That little smile Blaine sees from me is probably more devious than that of his own! I pat him on the back reassuring him of  a job well done - because he has worked really hard at trying to be sneaky bless his heart - I would hate to disappoint him in thinking otherwise. So off I go, with a smile, to make a wonderful dinner. This is only because I know that I can rest easy knowing that the task is complete - 1.  It will actually stay fixed, 2.  It will not require a major overhaul and 3.  It will avoid any additional vacillating (on his part) that we know goes absolutely nowhere!

Ohhh but that is another topic for another day I believe. How I do dread when Blaine actually does decide to fix something because I know I will only end up calling the repair man to come and fix whatever it was that Blaine thought he fixed but didn't. ~Sigh~  Remind me to tell you about the time he "fixed" the electrical wiring in the kitchen and got mad because the oven shorted (blew up actually) and blamed it on poor craftmanship of the company that made the oven and then complained about how things are not made like they used to!  ~Rolling Eyes~ Needless to say this put a bit of a damper on his dinner that evening which makes for a cranky hubby!  Being a wife on her toes - I was easily able to redirect his attention to a dinner out at his favorite meat and potatoes restaurant while quietly making a phone call to our repairman who is currently on speed dial.

Yes, we will just let Blaine think he has worked himself so hard that he deserves a nap. All is good and peace remains once again in the Staat home!  Oh the things we ladies must do and endure!

(Note to Married Men: If you think you are getting away with something...think again!)

Mrs. Catherine,

I'm so glad to see your lovely blog is up and running again--I really missed being able to get in yesterday!  I was a bit down yesterday, thinking perhaps something bad had happened, and you were perhaps shutting it down.

Your site is such an inspiration to me--I've learned how to clean my silverware, clean my house (though I mostly seem content with looking at your pics), and have started to work on being more patient, and serene (I've been rather foul-tempered sometimes, the past few years, and really needed to work on that).  I've even started to wear mostly skirts again, and was inspired by your lovely clothing to check out the Goodwill for clothing bargains--and finally found skirts that I like, and are modest and comfortable.

Thanks to you, I've re-discovered my inner-homemaker; something that, ironically due to getting married 3 years ago, and working full-time, got pushed aside, making me snappish and stressed.  In the hectic pace of my new life, I lost touch with that side of me.  Now, I'm working on getting back to the woman I used to be, and learning to adapt to my hectic life.

Now, if only I could become as tall, slender, and beautiful as you!  Oh well...

Thank you so much for your site.
