| Hi everyone! How are you? I am doing well! It's almost time for graduation and I am looking forward to Grad school in the fall. I have decisded to attend the University of Washington in Seattle for Grad school! I am really excited about moving, but first I need to get through finals and finishing up my last few weeks here at the UofA. I have five exams and a paper to write before I graduate! I can't believe how time flys so quickly! I am amazed that I have done so much in the last few years. It is incredible how many people I've met all over the world and how much I have learned from others. I am also blessed to have so many great friends and two amazing families! Although I am leaving Arizona after the summer, I'll be home for Christmas! Yeah, well until next time... Tschuess! | | |
| GRAD SCHOOL!Good News! I've been accepted to the University of Arizona and Syracuse University masters program in Library and Information Science! I'll be traveling next week to visit Syracuse, New York and spend a few days in NYC!!! I'm looking forward to a few days away from AZ and visiting the MET and some other neat places! I should hear from other university's in a few weeks. I will keep you posted... I'm pretty excited and happy for Grad school!!! HALLO to all my friends in MA, Erlangen, Poland, CA, ect.... :) <3 :) | | |
| One line in my mindI only have one line in my mind. It is from a really famous German writer named Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. He wrote a tragic play in 1772 called Emilia Galotti. One line from this play echos in my mind. " Broken a rose, ere the storms scatter its petals." This line reminds me of every memory with you. You a rose. I have broken this rose. I now must not dwell on this decision. I now remeber the good memories with you. I don't want the storms of life to scatter us. I don't the rose to wilt. | | |
| Final Semester! It's January 2008 and I can't believe it's my last semester at the UofA! Well maybe not my last, but that is still to be deturmined. I have applied to 5 Grad schools including; the UofA, University of Maryland, University of Washington, Simmons College in Boston, and Syracuse University. All 5 have amazing Masters Programs for Library and Information Science and I am super excited for Grad School! I am now in the process of applying to scholarships, fellowships, and graduate assistantships. It is one process after another, but in the end it should be worth it. My first chioce is Simmons, and then the University of Washington, and then Maryland, and then the UofA, and then Syracuse. I just need to be paitient and wait. I will keep you posted on any news. This semester I have 21 credits or 7 classes (one independant study teaching German and 6 classes). It's a busy schedual, but I will be fine. I think my craziest semester was my second semester at Smith when I had 21 credits and was riding the bus to Mt. Holyoke and UMASS and back to Smith in the snow for classes. Today was a refreshing rainy day and reminded me of the cloudy rainy days in Erlangen. No sunshine, just rain. I think I am no longer worried by rain, because I know it's good for the trees. Francisco is back in Amherst and I miss him very much, but thankfully I can email, call, and google chat/talk with him all the time! He reports that the snow is not bad and last night I called Pizza Hut in Massachusetts and ordered him a pizza. Technology is awesome, because you can order food for people far away from you and they get it delivered to their house in minuets! I had afternoon tea with Chelsea, Annelise, and Jessica yesterday and baked a cheescake. I also had a good time hanging out with Nora, Teressa, and Lauren Friday night and hiking Saturday morning. This weekend was very enjoyable, relaxing, and fun. Now it's time to get ready for bed, read, and fall asleep, but I just thought I would update with an entry while I had the time. Until the next time! :) Smiles! | | |
| Back to UofAIt has been one year since I was here at the UofA and now I am back to finish my senior yr. I had a nice 3 week summer vacation hanging out with family and showing my friends Heidi and Angela Arizona. We went to all sorts of tourist places including the Heard Museum, AZ State Capital, AZ mineral and mining museum, an AZ Dbacks game, Tucson, Mt. Lemmon, San Xavier Mission and the Grand Canyon! It was a lot of fun!!! I also got to see some friends in Phoenix and hang out with Francisco before comming back to school. Now I am looking for a pt. time job and trying to get used to Tucson and the Uni. I miss Germany so much, but it is nice to be back in the desert. I have 2 German classes and 2 political science courses and an honor coloquium on Latin America. It should be a good semester. I'm also involved with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and the Deutsche Studenten Klub this semester. I'm thinking of also joining Ballroom dance if I have time. The monsoon rains are still hanging around. Francisco has been in Amherst Massachusetts for a little over a week and he is liking it. I am living in his old place. It is a nice guest house (5 min. bike ride from campus) with my own bathroom and studio apt. style house. It is super cute and right next to a big park and city library. I even have a little market around the cornner and it's a old quiet neighborhood. It's nice being back and I am looking forward to finishing up the year here. This semester I will be researching Grad schools on the east coast and studying for the GRE. Yeah so that is all for today! Shout outs to all you Smithies!!! :) | | |
