| Xanga has seriously changed in the years since I first signed up for it. I hardly recognize it anymore, and I cannot tell if that is a good or a bad thing.
I feel the potential for a fandom shift creeping upon me, and I keep trying to re-focus myself on the current one. After all, the new movie comes out in 2009, surely with the help of Comic Con, I can hang on that long. Either way, I'll concentrate on the now. A-kon is in less than a week, and I am going to be staffing a booth there. Hopefully that will turn out well.
I'm writing again for the first time in years. It kind of baffles me; I thought I would never write again. My brain spontaneously had other ideas, apparently. I don't know if I will actually complete it; I feel it fading more every time I tell it. The ideas become less clear, the reasoning becomes more fuzzy, and I no longer know how I wanted to end it anymore. The vision has faded. Not that this would be the first time such a thing has happened, by any means, but it is still somewhat disappointing. Life goes on, though.
Eh, that is more or less all that is going on in my neck of the woods. I cannot think of anything more to say. | | |
| A master's student at Georgetown is working on fan fiction for her thesis. There's a survey and she needs as many people from as many fandoms as possible to complete it so that the diversity of fan culture is represented.
If you have a minute, please check it out and send the link to your friends. The survey can be found at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=1idSovixsYIF7EpKO2EGpQ_3d_3d .
I've agreed to help spread the word, but if you have any questions/concerns, you can email her at kem82 @ georgetown.edu.
It was a fun little survey, and I'd like to think that I got some good karma from helping out. I like that.

| Nadia, the new Utada Hikaru song I was talking about it here. Some of her other songs I think you'll like are Passion, Traveling, Devil Inside, Deep River, Keep Tryin', Colors and Sakura Drops.
Ehhh, nothin' more to say than that, really.

| There's a restaurant on Avenue K in between 15th and 14th... omg, so good. It's this middle-eastern place called Shiek's. I think it might be family run because to my knowledge there's only one waiter, but the food. Oooh, the food. They have this garlic cilantro chicken with a hint of lemon which is really, really good. Seriously yummy. Actually all their stuff is good (well, except for the BRIGHT PINK pickled vegetables, but I bet they're an acquired taste), but the garlic chicken is my favorite so far.
...I wonder if there's some sort of recipe for it online. I've been "cooking" lately (if by "cooking" you mean "controlled kitchen fire") and the barley soup turned out well despite me forgetting one of the ingredients entirely and adding three times more of another ingredient than the recipe called for. (It tasted good, even if it turned into barely stew, not soup. That counts as success, right? Edibility?) The spaghetti sauce I made was a liiiiiiiiiiittle undercooked (easily and promptly rectified), the asparagus was a little carbonized (I liked it that way, actually), and the crock-pot salsa-beef turned out just fine. The Special K bars were descended upon by the family with a vigor not unlike that of a swarm of locusts.
I feel like a Sim. Do I have a little Cooking Skill Meter floating above my head?
Anyway, if anybody still reads this thing, we should totally go hit up Shiek's sometime.
