There is sunshine outside...

I almost forgot what warmth was supposed to feel like.

And someone informed me about "summer". I guess it is a season in which the rain and cold grey days turn into warmth and blue skies. Wow. If this is what that is, it would be nice.

I am going to go outside now.

I have my life back now. Sad that SIFF is over. I saw some good films and some bad films.

Now I can actually be responsible and do things I am supposed to do. =)

Next thing to look forward to - Traveling to Calgary for a week!

So I got to go see the movie Slipstream written/directed/musically scored/staring Sir Anthony Hopkins.

He introduced it, we watched it, and then he answered questions and talked for like 45 minutes after. It was really cool. I really respect talent like that. He was really sincere and he doesn't care what anyone thinks, which is good because the movie he made is really strange. Although I really liked it, I am not sure everyone felt the same way.

The movie kinda got under my skin. Very mesmerizing. I don't think I will forget it for quite sometime, and that is a good thing.

I tried to ask a question about how he wrote the music. He said briefly that he doesn't write music, but he did a really good job with the score. I wonder if he knows how to play the piano, but meant he doesn't write music, yet proceeded to make this up. I don't know, but it was cool.

I have also recently been reading books from a librarian organized section in the Seattle Public Library called "slipstream". And I wonder if the title of his movie comes from this same type of story... (It is defined online as post modern literature. A popular example is Kafka on the Shore.) Even if it wasn't supposed to be, the style is very similar. Dream/Nightmare like.

Yay for SIFF.

Its my favorite time of year again (besides Christmas). The sun is kinda here...

But most importantly it is the beginning of the Seattle International Film Festival, SIFF.

I have 3 and a half weeks to watch as many movies as is possible, while maintaining my job, and other household duties. And while not spending too much money.

As for maintaining the friendships I have... well you are all more than welcome to come to a movie or two with me. We'll call it bonding.

I don't buy tickets in advance, except for one this year. I am seeing a movie directed by and staring Anthony Hopkins. I have heard rumors that he is actually going to introduce the showing I am going to see.

Other than that, my selections are usually left up to fate, determined by the venues and times I can make.

If anyone reading this wants to join me please let me know. It gets a little tiring standing in all the lines by myself.

But it is so worth it. Lastly, since I never want to pay for tickets to the opening night gala (tonight), a happy group of us have tickets to go see Pirates of the Caribbean 3 tonight... Its not foreign or independent, but hollywood at its trilogy finest. I sure hope it has better editing than number 2.

Anyway, YAY SIFF.

Life is now back to normal. I spent all day being OCD. Sounds about right.
If I can't laugh at myself...
