  • Dr. Debbie Show

Finally after goobs of prayer the Dr. Debbie Show has begun!  www.ustream.tv/channel/Dr.-Debbie-Show  Every morning there is worship from 9-11 am  Usually the show will broadcast from 9 am to 6pm EST while I am at work.  Here is the thing:  I am looking for co-hosts, people to interview - not just the superster Christians though certainly I will be asking them but YOU.  I want to have your testimony, your dreams, your visions, what God has laid on your heart.   Do you do prophetic evangelism?  Cool, come on over and schedule a time or we will do it spontaneously.  Do you have a word of knowledge?  Well  pray for one and then come over and share!  You may be holding the key to unlocking someone's destiny.

If the chat isn't working (tech help is appreciated!!!) then you can contact me on Yahoo IM at Lead2Jesus or by Email at drdeb@wilkshire.net

This is not a time to be shy but to step out in faith.  Stop holding back!

  • Be Fierce

    2515824255Step up your game

    By Dr. Debbie McFarland

Have you heard this word lately? I believe that to be fierce is the call to believers for the year 2008. In this context I am defining “to be FIERCE”: Furiously active or determined, marked by unrestrained zeal or vehemence, violently aggressive, violent passion.

The other phrase that goes with this that I have heard over and over again is “To step up your game”. There seems to be a theme in both the secular and spiritual realm that passive and comfort zones are out and extreme passion and purpose are expected.

As is the case with many articles I write, I get the theme months before I have the body of article. When the time comes to write then it just flows. This is how I got “The rest of the story” this time. I have been working extremely hard the last few weeks. This has made me very tired to the point that I go to bed early and has lost interest in a lot of things that normally are very pleasurable for me including being a DJ on the internet, art projects, reading my bible, prayer and spending time with my husband, friends and kidders. Basically said, all intimacy and passions has been basically put on the shelf due to exhaustion. It is like I am outside of myself looking at all of these things but not a part of them anymore. Every day it is a struggle just to get through to the time that my head hits the pillow. Now, I know I am talking to someone out there that knows exactly what that feels like. Add a dose of hormones, a root canal and bronchitis and woo hoo, a good case of one messed up princess.

Last night I dreamed that I was writing an article for the Outreacher on the 7 things I love about the Lord. I was showing this article to my pastor, looking at all the detailed points of what I had written. Suddenly my heart began to break and in my dream I weeped so hard. How can I put the awesome love in a simple list of 7 things. Have I become that detached from life that it comes down to a rote list of words devoid of passion? Then the alarm when off! Both the physical and spiritual alarm at the same time. Time to wake up and step up my game!

First item for discussion is simple: Put back the passion into things of lasting value. The work will always be there but the opportunity to have a relationship with the Lord while being in this human experience is so short. My time with my husband is so precious and he deserves to have my heart and soul, not just the shell. My kids need be to be more than a taxi driver and someone to hug. Somewhere down the line the soul got nudged out by the flesh and it needs to re-enter my atmosphere.

Second item for discussion: Eliminate the unnecessary distractions. Sorry to my internet friends whom I dearly adore but my Yahoo has gone AWOL for a bit. I have quit internet DJ’ing for a time until the balance returns and am returning to the altar of intimacy and passion with the Lord. Yes, I believe that I am called to do ministry on the internet but there are so many sources others to go to, I need some time to be refreshed and lay in His presence.

Third and definitely more fun discussion: Turning off the mindless escapes and turning up my passion towards my loved ones. The “wait for a commercial” style of family life has not proven to be effective in cultivating appropriate relationships to say the least. Starting my day with the Lord is certainly a better option than giving Him my leftovers. Rolling eyes, those leftovers aren’t even worthy of the dog and yet I have been tossing them to the Lover of my soul.

It is time to be fierce about my passionate time with those that I love and no longer all distractions and tiredness steal that away. It is time to “step up my game” and go for those things that mean more to me than life itself. The alarm has gone off and I am awake.

So now I am going to rewrite the article on the things I love about the Lord and I can guarantee you that it won’t be a dry read this time but covered with tears of love, of joy and appreciation of Who He is in my life.

    The Valentine Box
    by Debbie Guinn

Once upon a time, there was a little girl, name Julia.  Julia was so excited because tomorrow was Valentine's Day and she was going to her first ever Valentine's party.  She had been looking forward to this party for weeks and had long ago picked out her favorite pink dress to wear to this very special occasion.  Julia sat at the table, diligently working on her Valentine Box, carefully cutting and placing each heart and paper doily in just the right spot.  She knew that all the other little girls at the party would be far prettier than she would, but hoped that nobody would come close to having as beautiful of a Valentine Box.  She would be certain to win not only the prize for the best decorated box, but the admiration of all the other children as they dropped their Valentine's cards into her prized box.

As she was changing into her pajamas that evening, Julia noticed that she felt achy and it hurt to swallow.  She knew what that meant, for she had been through many bouts of the dreaded Strep Throat in her life.  Not wanting to miss the party the next day, Julia didn't dare let her parents know how she was feeling.  She knelt beside her bed, and silently said her prayers, pleading with God to make her sore throat go away by morning.

However, the next morning came and Julia felt even worse than the night before.  Determined to go to the party, she put on her pretty pink dress, grabbed her Valentine Box and headed to the kitchen for breakfast.  She tried hard not to talk because she knew that would be a dead give away.  Her mother could always tell when Julia had Strep Throat by the way she talked.  Then it happened, Julia's mother asked her a question and before she realized it, she had spoken.  Her secret was out.  After feeling her forehead and examining her throat, Julia was sent back to bed.

She hung up her pink dress, tears streaming down her face, as she realized that there would be no party, no prize for the best decorated Valentine Box, and the only sweets she would get that day would be the grape juice her mother was sure to force down her.  Julia could not remember ever feeling so crushed and disappointed.  She crawled into bed, clutching her empty Valentine Box - desperately longing to go to the party and fill her box with cards and lollipops from all her friends.

Julia thought the day couldn't get any worse.  But, she was wrong.  Later that day, something very, very bad happened?something that would change Julia's life forever?something that made Julia so afraid and ashamed that she felt she could never, ever tell anybody about it.  So, Julia took the shattered pieces of her heart and placed them into her Valentine Box.  It would be her secret forever.  After all, who would ever look in a stupid Valentine Box.

As the years went on, Julia would go through many events, similar to the one she went through that awful Valentine's Day.  Each time, she would quietly tuck the additional broken pieces of her heart into her Valentine's Box, always too afraid and much too ashamed to ever tell anybody what had happened?not even God.

Julia believed in God.  She had given her heart to Him as a child.  She knew that He loved her, and oh how she loved Him.  She longed to climb up in His lap and let Him cradle her in His arms and wipe away all her tears.  However, Julia had been told many lies that caused her to believe that she could never let Him see the secrets tucked away in her Valentine Box.  Hence, every time Julia would think about climbing up into her Father God's outstretched arms, she was hindered by her box.  She didn't dare set it down, lest somebody come by and open it, discovering all her shameful secrets.  She couldn't keep it with her for fear God would ask her what was in it.  She certainly didn't hand it to God to hold, out of fear the lid might fall off.

Day after day, Julia would walk up to her Father's chair, look up at Him, and sadly walk away, clutching her box ever so tightly.  One day, Julia walked up to her Abba Father, looked up at Him, and with tears streaming down her face, she handed Him her box.  Her loving Father took the box with one hand and with the other hand, He reached down and scooped up His precious child and cuddled her in His loving arms.

After what seemed like hours of just resting in the comfort and safety of His arms, she took the lid off of the box and one by one showed Him each of the filthy, ugly, tattered "valentine's" that she had place in the box over the years.  She told Him all about each one, where it came from, who it came from, and how it had nearly destroyed her.  Then she gave it to her Father, asking Him to take it and make something beautiful with it.

Each time Julia handed her Father one of the "valentine's", He took it, folded it, then set it aside.  When the box was empty, the Father picked up all the pieces that had just minutes before been so ugly and torn.  Julia watched in amazement as He pieced them together and handed her the most beautiful white rose she had ever seen.  As she looked closer, Julia found the following written on each of the pure white petals.

"I have redeemed YOU, I have called YOU by name, Julia, YOU are MINE and you belong to nobody but me."
"YOU are my bride, blameless and pure."
"I love YOU with an everlasting love."
"I loved YOU enough to send my son to die for YOU."
"My love for YOU is wider, longer, higher, deeper than anything you could ever imagine."
"Even if the mountains shake and the hills all disappear, my unfailing love for YOU will never be shaken and my promise of peace will never fail YOU."
"Nothing can ever separate you from my love for YOU"
"I have never abandoned YOU and I never will."
"I turned my back on my Son, so that I would never have to turn my back on YOU."
"Love ME, Julia, as I have loved YOU."

Julia looked down and noticed that the sweats and t-shirt she had been wearing just moments earlier were gone, replaced with the most beautiful white gown she had ever seen.  She took her Rose of Truth and placed it in her Valentine Box.  Then she curled up in her Daddy's lap and drifted off into the most peaceful sleep she had ever known.

  • Listen to the music!

    Song of your heart –

    What are you singing?

    What are you hearing?

Mute the speakers of the distractions…..

    LISTEN ~

Song of the bride and the Lamb

Can you hear it in the air?

Can you hear it in your heart?

The singing breaks all bondages of the enemy.

Shatters the walls of heaven and spills out into your heart.

The Lord is singing over you right now.

Break out in dance, dance with Him as He is already rejoicing in You.

The dance of a child round and round and round again

Circling the father in pure joy.

Stopping to hug him and feel his embrace

Laughter piercing the darkness and gloom

    No worries.

Feeling the sway as the Father dances with them.

Dancing like there is no other moment

Giggles, holding onto the hands of the brothers and sisters

Circling until we get dizzy and fall to the ground

Staying on the ground for quite awhile and soaking up this moment.

Feeling the sweat pouring down your face.

  • Meet my friend JP from India

I want to introduce you to a friend of mine. He is a missionary in India. He has gone to theological seminary and chose to stay with the poor, widow and orphans. In his parents 4 room house he and another man have an orphanage that houses 10 orphans. They feed and school these 10 orphans and 13 more children. They also help the poor and widows as they are able. He has a website with many pictures at www.shoutlife.com/jp4bm. I want to help them get a milk cow. When you read this you can see how important that is to his village. One cow cost $300 and the sale from the milk of that cow can feed 3 people. That is better than sending $25 per person per month. That is $75 a month x 12 months is $900. Just imagine what 3 milk cows could do for that village! Savings of $2700 In one year.

There are other very easy things you can do for his village as simple as just getting these things to me or mailing them yourself. He has asked for papers to write on, childrens clothes age 4 to 13, Christian CD’s, Childrens Christian videos and things like that. You can find his Yahoo ID on his website and send him a note of encouragement, your prayers or just to chat. He is very nice, humble and genuine. IF you feel led, he has a paypal account. The purpose of my email is to simply introduce you to his ministry – ask for your prayers and hopefully you make a new friend. He has banners for the ministry that you can put on your websites if you have one.

jp0JP is the one on the left. He is 23.
