There are so many things I appreciate my mother for. I think the biggest one would be how cultured she was.  She was a big fan of the arts and of literature.  She exposed me to a little bit of everything, from art museums to Scottish bagpipe festivals to frequent trips to the library.  It's made me a better person today, with more to offer and a better mother in turn. When people ask me how I know about this or that, I tell them it's how I was raised. Because my mother was such a cultured person.
