The weekend away with Bridget was a lot of fun. We went to Hocking Hills and stayed in a cabin that was 200 years old....or so they say. It definitely looked like it was from that era, and it was soooo cool. It was rustic and adorable. It was cozy and gorgeous. Next time we'd like to go and stay a little longer. We went for a hike and it was a lot of fun. We hiked up to some cliffs and watched a huge waterfall.

It was a good time, and I can't wait to do it again...

Another great weekend on the way. Spending the entire weekend with Bridget in a secret place that she's kidnapping me too. Hiking will be involved, so I'm pretty excited!

In case anyone cares or wants to know if I am still alive...I am. Here's an update into Kate's World:

Things are crazy right now with schedules, etc. Student teaching is going well, but I am still nervous about taking on all of the teaching. They're doing gymnastics right now, and it's not exactly my area of expertise. So I am learning a lot each day, and I love the kids. They're so great.

If I am not at school teaching, I am usually in Grove City. I'm seeing someone right now...couldn't be happier. It's going great! So, I'm not around much, hence the reason why the last Xanga update was on New Year's Eve.

Anyway, that's my life right now. Becky's coming to Columbus this weekend, so I am going to have a great time. I will spend my entire weekend in Columbus.

I knew that this semester was going to be crazy busy, but I didn't know it was going to be this great!

New Year's Eve...

Starting to really regret being in Pittsburgh for it. But I suppose there will be others to enjoy. Home has been a very interesting place for the past week or so. The rents are having major issues that I really would rather not be around for. I figured that by age 21, I would be free of my duty to listen to it all. Apparently not. Columbus can't come soon enough. But school can! Student teaching is coming up faster and faster. I am pretty terrified about it, but there are days when I think it might not be so bad. Talking to friends who've already done it helps. And my professors think I am ready for it, so we'll see.

Anyway, there's not much going on in Pittsburgh. I wish there was more to report, but that has to do for now. Hope everyone enjoys the New Year and has a good holiday break.

This is crazy...

So I still keep in touch with my old coach and PE teach from HS. We were very close, and have remained pretty close since HS. She moved to Virginia to teach at a growing school district there. She has been telling me to keep her school district on my list because they are growing so much that they might need more teachers.

So I get a Christmas card from her a few days ago with a picture of her son on the front (so cute), and on the back it says "Hey Kate, Hope exams are going well. Send me your resume! They're hiring! Love you, Coach"

So I emailed her and asked if she meant that they were specifically hiring for PE. I got an email from her this morning saying this, "My supervisor for the county said if we new anyone good to get her resumes this winter!" Wow....I mean, this isn't exactly where I would prefer to live next year, but the fact that I am already hearing about an opportunity for a job next year, WITH a conncetion to put in a good word for me...that's really big. Especially with Physical Education. It's becoming a competitive profession because there are so few in each school. I just can't believe it. I mean...that could almost garuntee me an interview? I won't get my hopes up for it, but I most definitely have my foot somewhat in the door for myself there. And as someone told me yesterday when i was talking about Virginia, it's got to be so beautiful there. And that is true. Thinking of all the kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and rock climbing I could do there!! Hmmmm.....

Definitely in an excited mood this morning.
