| Why do people, mostly people younger than age 30, stick out their tongues for pictures? Seems there is always one, two, three, maybe even the entire group who open wide and stick out their tongues. It sends a message to me. Is a message intended?

| On the left is a picture of Lucky and her June 25th heifer calf. Lucky is browsing on willows and her calf is munching on cottonwood cotton. I knew that cattle eat cottonwood seed when grazing, but I did not know that an animal would seek out little piles like this calf did today.
On the right is CeeCee and her new bull calf, born yesterday. CeeCee has enough milk to share with us, so I started milking her today. I milked her in the pasture today, and tomorrow I will put her collar back on and milk her in the barn. I am excited about yogurt and cream!

| View from the diningroom windowImportant details in this picture. The new curtains with a farm scene on them. The weather -- raining ( accumulation of .14 inch!) The wheelbarrow empty, ready for tomorrow's load of pruned raspberry canes and pulled quackgrass. The hanging pot of flower, survived the freezing temperatures, now finally blooming. Little Banjo enjoying a snooze in the window. A flowering houseplant. |
