| LOSTI am finally leaving Hawaii (Oahu). Though I can say I felt lost at times. My trust in God has grown. I have grown to love Hawaii the second time around. For those who do not know we took a vacation in Minnesota for 7 months. I came back to Hawaii and lived in Ewa Beach. Iroquois Point Community Island Club to be exact. The pace was relaxed. I loved it. If I had to come back I would. My family will be in San Antonio for two months. We are now staying at the Hilton in Waikiki until we fly. They have some interesting animals here at the hotel. Did you know there are penguins that live in Africa? Well, they live her in Hawaii at the Hilton, man are they spoiled. hmmmmm a warm climate. I bet that boggles the evolutionists mind. The amazing animals of God's creative mind. Anywho I hope I do not end up saying, "Kate we should have never left". My husband agrees. He thought that was funny. The truth will set you free, Called to serve, Dianna | | |

| A skitIn this comedic sketch created by Family Room Media, Tim recently has struggled with keeping up on his tithing record at Valley Fellowship Community Church. Pastor Bruce and Elder Rick provide an invaluable lesson to Tim on the purposes and benefits of tithing..... Ok... well, their lesson kind of backfires on them. This video struck me as funny because it is so typical of the logic and guilt trips too many pastors lay on members of their church. Family Room Media has also produced some great videos and book publications on related subjects. You can visit their website here: http://www.familyroommedia.com/. To watch the tithing video clip, just click the video box below.

| CatsWe live in Hawaii. If you did not know there is a huge cat problem here. Most blame it on the military. I think everyone is to blame. The kids and I decided to do something to help. We caught three kittens and a mom last year and became good friends with a few ladies who are always trapping and fostering cats. Here is how it works. Tedra who has Joey's Felines has people call her. They say they found kittens or have an injured cat. So she take them in and hopes to find homes for them. She has land with hundreds of cats waiting to be adopted. Many of her cats will not get adopted because they have serious injuries. Then there is Jen the one who has Cat Friends I met her through Tedra because she was swamped with cats when we found the three kittens. Jen told us the humane society has a program called consignment where you put the kittens up for adoption and hope they get adopted. All three of the cats got adopted and the kids learned alot from that experience. So, now we are back in Hawaii and there is still a problem. I called Jen and asked if she needed help. Jen is a producer so this is what she does after work. It is amazing how she has the time. Anyway she does several thing with "cat friends" Jen like Tedra do not kill the cats. So the Humane society has another unique program for Hawaii's problem. It is called the Ferel trap and release program. Jen and many others trap cats pay $5.00 to fix the cat and chip it, then they release the cat back where it was trapped. The cats usually live in colonies. Some have ten others have hundreds. Have you ever watched Aliens where they find the Mother Alien and there are more there. Well I think Barber's Point is where it all began. Oh my! However St. Louis park has more I think. I have never been there but, have been told it is like grass. Ok back to the rambling. Jen also traps kittens and fosters(she has people who open ther home also not enough though) them till they are calm enough to be brought to the Humane society to be adopted. She does not like catching kittens because that means one cat just had more cats. I agree. The reason I believe they started the trap and release program was there were many people that do not want the cats killed. It think everyone needs to do there part whatever it may be. I think there are at least 300,000 wild cats. That did not choose to be wild. The kids and I go out about once a week and trap for Jen so she is not out until the wee hours of the morning and so we can trap in diferent areas. This is one of the so called pests in Hawaii that can be solved. If there was some land to be given. They could have Aloha cats and tout how they contained a pest on the Island and people can adopt them if they so choose. Bring one back home with them (an Aloha cat to remember Hawaii). The trappers have stabilized some areas of Oahu but, there is still much to be done. Some of the areas do nothing. Last night we caught a kitten that we thought was going to be adopted. But, it is sick. The kids and I will nurse it back to health and go from there. Michael does not like us having a sick cat. I replied "should he not see people with sick eyes maybe he will get sick" We wash our hands. I have never seen such a skinny cat and it is a local cat meaning there is inbreading in the colonies so she has a really crooked tail that looks like it got run over and short ears the Humane society does not take these kind. they have to stay feral. | | |
