| Ok, I said I was going to be posting to the other blog from now on but I found something by accident that I wanted to share: http://www.commondreams.org/views06/1019-24.htm

| The move...Ok, everything is setup at the new blog site and here is the link: http://ogigamedev.wordpress.com/. When I make a new entry it will be posted to that site now. I'll set my subscriptions to e-mail so I can stop in and comment here still. Oh and you don't have to open an account at my new blog site to comment if you don't want to, I have it set to allow guest comments.

| Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. My work/class hours don't give me
much time to work on my own things. When I do have some time I've been spending
it planning for my future; figuring out what classes I'll be taking at Ferris,
how I'll get to things I'll need, and where I'll go after Ferris. My focus is
too broken, I think. I want to get good at 2D concept art, 3D modeling and
animation, Web Design, and Game Design. Basically I want to have my hands on
all the visual and descriptive areas, with Web Design being for the income. I
also want to learn Japanese and take some humanities, but that will probably be
mostly after Ferris I think. I can only do so much at one time after all.
I found a Master's degree nearby that is very surprising given where it is.
It's a degree in Game Design!! Well technically it's a telecommunications
degree with a focus in Game Design, but it works out the same way. They also
have an awesome Japanese degree so I was thinking, if financially possible, I
could do both. Yes it would be a lot more classes but at the same time what
point would it be to learn Japanese if I stop half way through? If I'm going to
do it at all I might as well be at the standard proficiency level. They would
both overlap heavily though so it should only add 30 credits to the primary
degree, so it's somewhere between a minor and a major when all is said and
done.
The other thing I wanted to mention is that I'm thinking of switching blog
hosts. I already have a blog at Wordpress.com and like it much more than here.
There are more/better features, it's much more cosmetically appealing, and I can
download my posts and upload them to a normal hosting site later. Wordpress
also allows me to create web pages within the blog software so I can
practice/experiment before paying for a full web host. I can also post
to Wordpress from my desktop without logging in, without navigating through
pages to get to the posting area, and even create drafts without being online.
Here my options are very limited and as far as I know I can't download my posts
if I were to start using a paid web host. So I know I want to switch I'm just
not sure what I want to do with this blog and those of you that I send and
recieve comments from. | | |
| Well, Curt (my brother), should be back in California now. We dropped him off at the airport yesterday morning around 3:00, so I got 3-4 hours of sleep from the night before. I got to bed at about 7:00 and back up at 11:30 to go to work from 1:30 - 9:00. Yeah, it was a blast!...
Not much else going on yet besides getting all my college stuff finalized and attempting to find out more about Grand Rapids (grocery stores, etc).

| Ok, I finished the road test and just have to get to the Secretary of State to finalize everything. We went into Grand Rapids and talked to the program director for their game design degree and it looks like that's where I'll be going after all. He said all of my general classes will probably be waived with the exception of an advanced writing class and some math. I'll be able to take some classes at Kendall, just not as many as I had thought, most likely. I'm thinking I'll take some drawing classes, maybe one painting class, and whatever foundational classes they have for the painting degree (color theory and that kind of thing)... Oh and web design. So, about one semester of art classes and the rest at Ferris.
I need to talk to someone here at MCC and get everything finished up that way. That part needs to get done pretty soon too because he said next month is when some people start registering. He reassured me that I'll most likely get in, I just have to make sure I go all out once I'm there... They end up doing "work hours" like in the industry, meaning ~60+ hours per week at times. They seem to have awesome internship opportunities though. Well, now I need to look at the DVDs I got from Ferris and the one in the mail from Kendall...
