First time in my life, i witnessed a player challenge his own serve.

R. Federer served, got his service returned, and missed. And THEN he challenged his very own serve, which happened to be long.

Obviously the chair umpire didn't let him challenge the call. But what a funny incident.

Add J. Grisham to my favourite author list.

I've read most of the books by Dick Francis, all by Erle Emerson, quite a few by Earl Stanley Gardner, and a # of books written by Agatha Christie and Lisa Gardner.

Now, i'll start reading Grisham's novels. All of them.

It'll take me a while, but i've got a lot of free time until September, '08.

Bucking the trend

Small Forwards are rarely given the MVP Finals trophy.

After LeBron came to the scene in '03, i thought that he'd be the first SF to get the trophy, but Paul Pierce (The Truth!) beat him to it.

The last time a SF was given the trophy was exactly 20 years ago when James Worthy won it.

I wonder who'll hold the trophy next year?

Good win by the Celtics; and i've a feeling that next year they won't get past both Cavaliers *and* the Pistons next year, unless they get a favourable match-up.

Rajon's injury - Blessing in disguise

Rajon and Kendrick's injury were vital for Boston's win in game # 4.

Had they not been injured, Coach Rivers would've stuck to his original theory of playing Rondo (who can't shoot) and Perkins (who clogs up the lane).

Instead, he went with Posey and House to spread-up the floor.

The better team deserved to win, and that was Boston Celtics.

With that being said, when Lakers next loose (probably game # 6), Kobe will not be a very happy camper. He'd work ultra-hard in the off-season and with Andrew Bynum back, the Lakers would be the favourite to win it all next year.

But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything could be better than these years. Was it fair?

"First, Duncan tripped over his own leg and would have turned the ball over...had the nearest ref not called a tripping foul on Shaq. The Big Cactus had barely brushed Duncan's leg, and it happened a full step before Duncan tripped himself up. It was a bogus call, especially considering it was a hard-fought elimination game in which a lot of contact was being let go.

The second atrocious call came a minute or so later, when Tony Parker drove to the hoop and got "fouled" by Amare Stoudemire. They showed the slow-mo replay, and Stat clearly tried to jump away from the contact, but Parker intentionally dropped like a stone and of course got the call. Revolting. Again, I'm not blaming the Suns' loss on these calls...but that doesn't make me hate them any less."

"So yeah, last year Stoudemire and Diaw got suspended for leaving the bench during an altercation and they were suspended for a critical playoff game. It's a stupid rule because it's so strict and they didn't actually do anything and they just wanted to see what was happening. But a rule's a rule, so whatever. This year, Kevin Garnett shoves a ref who is trying to restrain him and Kendrick Perkins and Marvin Williams step onto the court during an altercation in game four and the NBA doesn't suspend anyone. THE NBA IS FAAAANtastic."

I understand that now Suns will never win the Finals. Mostly due to officiating (they should've won last year as it was their year)... but it doesn't even matter now.

I really hope for a Utah Jazz and New Orleans Hornets WCF!!!

As of right now, these are the playoff matchups:

Lakers vs. GSW
San Antonio vs. Dallas
Houston vs. Phoenix
Utah vs. New Orleans (best match-up!)

All these match-ups will be fun to watch... but i'm sure we'll see movements in the standings.
