img_1344
You can barely see the ground in this picture.

img_1261
I saw a yellow-headed blackbird for the first time too but I didn't have my camera with me so I didn't get a picture of it.

A rose from my rose bush.

IMG_9411

IMG_9341
A house finch.

IMG_9343

IMG_9358

IMG_9397
A goldfinch.

IMG_9400

IMG_9425
I don't know what kind of bird this is. He was just sitting in the middle of the road.

IMG_9454
An old, rotten tree. :)

IMG_9551
I think this is a brown thrasher, but I'm not sure.

IMG_9554
These are the first brown-headed cowbirds I've got a picture of!

IMG_9570
A bird (I don't know what kind) with a worm in its mouth.

IMG_9576
I don't know what kind of bird this is.

IMG_9579

IMG_9571
A mockingbird.

IMG_9615
I don't know what bird this one is either.

IMG_9617
Probably a brown thrasher again.

IMG_9618
Don't know about this one.

IMG_9621
A goldfinch.

IMG_9625
The same magnolia blossom, but opening even further.

IMG_9629
A blackberry flower. The tomatoes are getting flowers on them also.

I think he's bored.

IMG_9593

IMG_9592

IMG_9439
Three yellow ones. The bottom is a female, the top two are males.

IMG_9471
A Canada Goose.

IMG_9472

IMG_9477

IMG_9478

IMG_9505
One of the horses on the horse farm.

IMG_9508
A Carolina Wren. A couple seconds after I took this pictures, he fluffed up his feathers even more, and whizzed off, looking like a fluffy ball riding through the air.

IMG_9507

IMG_9515
A different one.

IMG_9548
The bird hanging upside down on the bottom of the feeder is a Chickadee.

IMG_9549
And now he's eating. (Five birds on the feeder at one time, that's the record). :)

IMG_9563
A woodthrush!

IMG_9567
The magnolia bud, opening now.

IMG_9594
And this is one of the funniest pair of house finches I've seen.

IMG_9596

IMG_9599
(I think she lost her seed.)

IMG_9602

IMG_9603

IMG_9604

IMG_9613
The female flew away, and a male goldfinch came to join the male house finch.

IMG_9615

That's all. I'm trying to upload a movie of a Wood thrush singing, and a Pileated woodpecker pecking on a fallen tree, but I don't know if they'll work.

Saturday, May 17, 2008

The bird below is a Tufted titmouse, but I don't know why it doesn't have the tuft.

IMG_9233

IMG_9246
Here's another woodthrush! I got better pictures of him this time. From the side, not just from below like last time.

IMG_9257

IMG_9283
Some Canada geese.

IMG_9284

IMG_9303
All six of them.

IMG_9321
A groundhog that I saw in the woods the other day. I saw another snake too, but he ran under a log before I could turn on my camera.

IMG_9324
A squirrel running around in the periwinkle.

IMG_9323

IMG_9325
A cardinal, with his crest looking like an Indian headdress.

IMG_9403
A magnolia bud.

IMG_9190
An Eastern Phoebe.

IMG_9213
"Sorry, I'm nearsighted. Could you do that again?"

IMG_9144

The irises are blooming!

IMG_8924

IMG_9234
"I think I'll go check my mail." (A white-breasted nuthatch.)
