The weekly photo challenge this week is Animal tales/Animal tails, and of course you know I have a few!

How about a guessing game? Who do I belong to...

I'm a very special person born in Ireland and raised by a Gypsy family. One day someone across the wide, wide ocean dreamed of sharing her home with me and I decided I needed to make her dream come true. I flew on a big airplane, then rode in a trailer all the way to a ranch out west. There I met a very handsome dude and, well, by the time my Person came to get me, I wasn't just One, but Two. Before the year was out I gave birth to a very beautiful (and now equally spoiled) little guy named Wind Dancer.

I'm on the tail end of a crazy kinda guy whose beard is actually fancier than his tail. I am a tail that wags like crazy just before the front end of my person gets a glazed look in the eye and runs off to bash his head against the nearest Something. I have a friend/relative who is all black and white and he's just as insane, be sure!

Okay I'm just All That, yes I am. I strut around like nobody's business and I truly rule the place. Just ask the owner of the tail above. He's scared of me in a very big way. So are the people. I just love to chase them and make them dance and swing their arms around and yell!

I'm a tail who is worn proudly (and handsomely says my Significant Other). I wasn't allowed to grow until after 20 years in the military, but I've made up for that now!

Aren't I just the cutest? Some human types thought so much of my stylin' that they made a hairstyle of their own and named it after mine. But mine's still the best. I love to shake my tail and show off for the ladies!

That's it for now. I don't suppose any of them are all that difficult to figure out, are they? I've also used a rather loose interpretation of "animal"... (as opposed to mineral or vegetable, but not necessarily the 4-footed variety) in my Animal Tails.

Here are the more recognizable ends of the tail owners.

Good ol' Billy Goat. See what I mean about the beard being so much handsomer than that scraggly ol' tail? His buddy Willy is peeking out behind him.

Then there's Ducky's tail. Indeed, drakes' tails DO swoop up into a cute little curl. You can see his girlfriend, Maxie, admiring him shaking his stuff for her.

This by no means exhausts the numerous tails/tales around our little ranchita, but it did exhaust the battery in my camera and probably has exhausted you having to look at them all, so for now we will bid you adieu as we turn and roam off into the distance wagging/swishing/shaking our tails behind us...

Empty Nester asked what kind of goats we have. They're pygmy goats. They may be small, but they're ALL goat!

May I introduce Billy...

and Willy.

Billy's the larger of the two, though they're the same age. Billy is so terribly fierce, he will butt just about anything - trees, fences, walls, buildings... but he's afraid of the rooster. He runs like crazy and hides when the rooster struts past. Willy, he's just our "little devil." He's shy, and he's a little stinker. Gotta love dem goatses!

Well THIS was fun. I really do have a dream of a huge, old-fashioned library - dark woods, floor-to-ceiling shelves with ladders, big comfy reading chairs, French doors... you get the idea. *sigh*

Now that the weather is beginning to have a chill to it and the leaves are starting to turn their magnificent fall colors, my thoughts have turned towards wintertime. And snow. We don’t get much fall-time here. Snow is liable to hit us any moment now. So as I was daydreaming about the upcoming (hopefully) white winter, my thoughts suddenly turned to something that happened a couple of years back.

I love going out and playing in the snow, tossing snowballs, making snowmen and snow angels… and of course, going tobogganing. One bright day when the sun was glistening dazzlingly on the newly fallen snow, I announced to DearHusband and DearSon that a tobogganing adventure was imminent. Donning the usual winter gear, I grabbed the toboggan and headed out, the others trailing behind, still donning assorted mittens and muffs.

I spotted the hill over yonder in the horse run. Nice and steep and long. We don’t use that hill, because it’s in the horse pasture. Instead we go to our smaller, less steep hill that lies on the other side of the property. But I felt spunky this day and detoured to the very top of Horse Hill. I plunked down on the toboggan, had almost one second thought, then shrugged and pushed off.

As I began my descent down the treacherously steep hill, scarf flying in the wind, picking up speed, I had that second thought. But too late now! As I flew down the hill, hell bent for disaster, I could vaguely see my family jumping up and down waving their arms frantically, yelling something at me. I couldn’t stop to wonder what…

Then suddenly I remembered the REAL reason we never went down Horse Hill. Oh DUH. There's a drop-off over the bank at the bottom of this lovely incline I was racing down. My heart began an immediate roar in my chest and my brain frantically came up with escape plans – giving me a picture of me jumping from a thundering freight train, diving and rolling… yeah right. I held on.

Whoooosh! I was airborne! I sailed out over that damn bank and plowed SMACK! into a huge snowdrift. Groaning, I pulled the scarf down off my eyes and starting looking and feeling around to make sure I was all still in one piece. As I poked around amidst the debris of the toboggan, lost mitten, and hat I kept thinking what a fool I was and how I’d never pull THIS kind of stunt again…

AND THEN I FOUND $5.00!!!!

Psych. Not true. Simply a fig Newton of my imagination, thanks to Featured_Grownups latest challenge.

Feet, eh? Not the most enticing subject I thought at first... then I journeyed outdoors. I decided to make it a (very) small guessing game. See if you can guess who's feet go with whom.

We have a Gypsy mare, a pygmy goat, a Gypsy colt, a 2-legged family, and a rooster to choose from.

I must say, we humanoids do look rather um, naked.
