    gone and gone again

    been forever again.

lets see, term one at Camp Barnabas was awesome, I had an awesome cabin with awesome staffers, awesome fellow counselors and awesome campers. dont worry, i tend to only use the word "awesome" a lot on xanga. i've been trying to write out an essay or something on my first week at Barnabas to practice my journalistic skills but I cant seem to get it going so i might leave talking about that till after i can get my thoughts in order.

after Barnabas I was bored at home for nearly two weeks before flying out to Virginia and attending Cultural Engagement Camp at Patrick Henry College. It was really neat, we got to watch movies and discuss them, listen to music and discuss that, and find skittles on plates covered with whipcream by only using our mouths. ok that was just me... the debaters had camp there at the same time and I think it drove them a little crazy thinking about us doing nothing more than watching movies *evil laugh*  that was the best part. i got to talk with my future (hopefully) Journalism professor and i won a prize for my review which made me feel better since that must mean he doesnt hate my writing.

after that I had 10 days at home before we left for our Florida family vacation. our last family vacation with everyone going since charlie and I are now in college.
the first part of the trip was spent in Orlando. we stayed at the Hard Rock Resort/hotel thing and went to Universal studios for 3 days.
the second part was spent in miami where we stayed on miami beach and went to the mall which was nice since i was able to introduce my sister to a sanrio store. we also drove down to the keys where my dad, one sister, and I went snorkeling at John Pennekamp state park. it was really nice except for the idiots we boated out with, who doesn't know to stay away from me? they need to learn.
the third part was spent in Orlando again but this time at Disney World. we stayed at the Polynesia Disney resort which is nice. all the soda was really really nice. after being able to swim in the beach for so long I was dissapointed in the idea of using a pool. the Magic Kingdom was a dissapointment too. its nothing like disneyland. epcot was kinda cool. i didnt really care for the animal kingdom but that might be because the rain didnt let us go on any rides.

it rained a lot in florida. i love rain. i even love being stuck in the rain. it makes everyone run away and you get the streets to yourself. but theme parks dont let rides work in the rain. certain members of the family dont like rain. it made the trip just a little bit less enjoyable.

so, got home yesterday afternoon, PHC called and Im doing my admissions interview tomorrow so im a little nervous about that but I guess it must be a good sign that I've even gotten to that point right?

and in 4 days i leave again for Camp Barnabas. the first week is blind week and im going to do a second week which is adults with severe handicaps and a friend said that week has a lot of lifting so I wont worry about not going to the gym for a while. hopefully i will be accepted and be able to sign up for classes before i go but if not i do have a 2/4 where counselors get a 24 hour break in between camps.

i think thats it. yeah, thats it, wow thats a long and boring post.

i need to buy a new headset so i can get on Counterstrike again. i havent practiced in a long long time.

been a while... uhhh just here to say im alive and facebook is awesome lol yeah thats where i've been. actually i've kinda forsaken the internet other than youtube and facebook. oh and angel but thats school so it doesnt count. im actually leaving tomorrow for camp barnabas where i wont be able to get near any communication devices till June 7 so this is it for a while again.

youtube is pretty awesome *nods head* yeah... awesome... like ultimate frisbee in the rain and the sound of your mother yelling at you to slow down on the curves.

i will try to do a short but informatively infused post when i come back.

that is, if the ACT doesnt kill me.

    eddy boy

Remember Edwards? You know, John Edwards, that really toothy guy who ran for president in ’04 and didn't make it past primaries? For some reason the news outlets made him out to be the darling of the female species. Something neither I nor any of my female friends understood. But then maybe that’s because we aren’t democrats or blind.

More to the matter at hand though, Edwards’s wife has cancer, apparently serious cancer. This has been highly publicized lately. What’s very moving is that she is such the self sacrificing wife that she is willing to put her pain and suffering to the side for the sake of her husband’s political career.

But, while her actions are so far commendable, I find that this story, rather than endearing Edwards to me as I’m sure it is meant to, repulses me. How could a husband sacrifice what could very probably be the last years with his wife, his supposed beloved, for a political office? Edwards is young, if he had to hold off running for 10 years and helped his wife through her illness he would still be in the average age range for presidential candidates.

His willingness to leave his wife in the dust for his own chance to be immortal is disturbing to say the least. What leadership and governing traits can we expect of a man who is willing to sacrifice his wife for his own glory? If he is willing to do this to the woman he “loves” what would he do to us, the people, who could never claim such a bond with him?

     ---------

as to the music, I wanted to have a Justin Timberlake song on here as a joke for a certain someone (you know who you are) but I “borrowed” the track from an  ipod user and then remembered iPods don’t use mp3s so I had  to put on another breaking Benjamin song.

i'm not quite sure what to do with this thing, i don't like boring people with my life, and my writings and photos are on another type of blog, so, what do i do here? facebook is nice *nods head* less work

so i will state some simple facts:

I have found a new respect for all editors.

    People are idiots, especially myself.

    300 is awesome.

    I love Breaking Benjamin.

Texas Hold'em is the best game ever but siblings who have grown up with each other should not play it together.

I don't care what people say, British History is far more interesting than current events. Sadly, it took a Tudor basher to make me realize this.

just an update, i don't know why but I feel like I am suppose to say something or do something on here since I have it...

Getting more involved with the Piano and guitar stuff now that federation is here. had my piano federation today, not going to tell my score since my judge was pregnant and therefore far too looney to realize she graded me higher than I deserved. she liked my shoes, she said she was fascinated with how I was able to pull off the pedaling while wearing such heels *evil laugh* its a gift ; )  i totally messed up my scale and cadences when testing the piano. at least this has gotten mom onto my side when it somes to talking daddy into getting a baby grand.

moms saying something about possibly sending me back to california as a graduation present.  most of my friends out here are having parties so why have another one if i could get a plane ticket instead?

i got another blogger, this time im using it just  to file my writings and pictures since I have been switching over hardrives and stuff like crazy...

guess thats it... ummmm yeah thats it, the really interesting stuff i cant repeat ; )
