| It seems like I never have time to blog anymore and when I do no one comments. I am on facebook more because that is the way the teens at church communicate. They say, "We don't do email . If you want to get a hold of us, facebook us a message." Ah, modern communication. I just got back from our church women's retreat out in east Texas. We stayed at Pine Cove, a beautiful camp on Lake Palestine- complete with hills, big trees, lakes, horseback riding, and a zip line. The retreat was great- we had such good fellowship and fun. The topic was on prayer. Talk about convicting. We had incredible small group activities for sharing. I was in charge of the music and basically delegated it to the teen girls ( they don't usually go on the retreat, but they were excited to go and help.) I am so proud of them- they did such an incredible job and the music was so worshipful. Everyone sang so well. 2 girls went to sing, one played the viola, one the keyboard, and one the guitar. They worked so hard. The ladies were impressed. I work with a great bunch of teen girls. I stayed in the cabin with them so didn't get much sleep. I start my new job at Children's Medical Center in Dallas tomorrow. Please pray for this transition. | | |
| He is Lord"O King of Glory, We confess that our praise of your majesty has often been faint, our performance as citizens of your Kingdom treasonous. For we have surrendered to the enemy by our secret sins and known sins. For our treason you died, Lord Jesus; For our restorations, you rose again. Draw us closer to you in this HOly week, that our eyes may catch the vision of your tears, and our hearts, the wonder of your grace. By the Holy Spirit's continuing discipline, by your amazing grace and abundant patience, may we be loyal and loving servants of the King. Amen."
Do we live our lives in such a way that those around us can see that He is Lord of every part of our life? Paul did- look at his reactions to his trials and circumstances in Acts. He lived as if every action were a reflection of Christ the King. Too often we live for self. | | |
| BloggingI just have not been in the Xanga mood lately. I check facebook everyday. But, I have been rebuked. So, I will blog. And there is actually new to tell. I resigned my current position at the pediatrician's office and took a position with Childrens Medical Center of Dallas. It is a new position- something I have never done. I will be seeing cancer patients 2 years after their chemo and radiation through their survivial. I will be looking at side effects from chemo and radiation and doing care as well as research. I start March 31st. But, first, I will take a week off and go to my grandpa's florida house for a week of beach fun and sun! Although March in Texas is usually pretty nice- today it was 75 and sunny. I am also starting a new tennis league Monday night. Woohoo!! I love tennis and wish I would have played when I was younger. Still want to try the golf lessons at some point. Those are the big things. I just did a children's program for our mission's conference at church. We did the puppet story of Paul- EBC people do you remember that?? Jonathon Christman and Pastor Ted were actually 2 of the voices as well . And we made a craft. Now, I am putting together the music for our women's retreat the beginning of April. Please pray for that- the focus is prayer and praise!
