| Lo and behold, I have not died.
I've actually moved over to livejournal. Catch me there at peridots13.livejournal.com if you want to know what's going on in my life.
| Figure SkatingYou know, I do believe I've found a reason to keep watching figure skating. Well, mens' and pairs' at least. Pairs', of course, for my Chinese teams. My pride in my heritage really comes out with them. And I've found some new men to cheer on. Jeffrey Buttle, who's artistic talent really takes my breath away. And of course, it helps that he's cute as a button. And there's Daisuke Takahashi, though I think a great bit of my love for him comes from the fact that he's Japanese. But he's a good all around skater. He's young, too, so he'll get better.
And Plushenko has just made me see him in a whole different light after watching his "Sex Bomb" performance. I mean, I knew he knew how to laugh at himself with his gender bending exhibition performance, but this was something else altogether. Wow.
And did you see Evan Lysacek's free skate? It was EXCELLENT. And it really helps that he's hot as hell. AND he's 4 months and 4 days older than me, which is PERFECT. God I want to marry him.
Unfortunately, it seems it's good bye, ladies. Irina will surely soon retire. I might stick around for Fumie Suguri. Maybe. I don't particularly like Sasha Cohen, and I despise the sister of the evil spawn who's fluke took Michelle's gold away in 2002. ARGH.
I love lip gloss. | | |

I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to watch another winter Olympic games. The three I can remember watching seem to be constant disappointments to me. The last one left me staring in shock. This one has already reduced me to tears.
As it is, my favorite male skater no longer competes. My favorite female skater is unlikely to return, as is my favorite pairs team. I only have ice dancing to look forward to in 2010, and that is my least favorite of the four.
I know that after this year, I will be unlikely to watch competitive figure skating ever again, unless I'm watching my tapes. And so, after late March, a decade long pastime will come to an end.
I feel like I've died. __________
1:56PM
My morning commute:
7:54: I leave home. 8:06: I board the LIRR at Mineola. Standing room only. I happen to have my 8lb laptop bag and my somewhere between 10 and 12 lb bag of groceries and my backpack with me. I repeat: standing room only. 8:57: The train leaves Mineola station. 9:28: The train pulls into Jamaica station after stopping several times due to delays along the way. 9:30: I scramble for a seat on the connecting train and lose all hope of getting to my 10AM class on time 9:57: I get to Penn Station 10:10: I walk through the subway gate without paying the fee. Unfortunately, a cop happened to be there and gave me a ticket. Fortunately, he does not mark the fine box (though he told me I had to pay $60), completely voiding the ticket. 10:40: I reach my dorm room. 10:41: I proceed to cry in frustration at my day so far. 10:59: I leave for my 11AM class.
Fwee. __________

Well, at least the pairs competition went nicely. I was unrealisticly hoping for a Chinese sweep, but atthe very least a Chinese gold. As it was, my favorite pair, Shen and Zhao, got bronze! Yay! Medal for them!!! And Zhang and Zhang, after that horrific fall, got the silver! Whoo hoo!
I am slightly happier. | | |
| Lost, class, lifeOMG LOST WTF CHARLIE AND SAWYER. How could Charlie to that to Sun? And Sawyer!! I thought he was better than that! I was hoping he was better than that! I hope he's just in some sort of denying he's better than that stage. ::sniffle:: Why, Sawyer??? WHY???????
Sayid has seemed to become a sort of secondary character and non-leader. It seems we'll be having a Sayid flashback next episode though, so yay!
As for what's going on in life...I purposely missed House yesterday to do hw. That's how busy I am. I actually willingly (though reluctantly) not watch my favorite show to do hw. I'm up til at least 3AM every night. Last semester, I was up til 3AM because of work maybe 5 times. This sucks.
Well, I have to do 2 problem sets and a lab report discussion, after I finish figuring out what all the data is. I believe I'll be up til about 4 or 5. Whee.
Hope everyone else is having a better life.
