| Ben and I have been engaged for a month now. Yay!! I love being able to see him and spend time with him every day. It makes my heart happy! So I had my senior audit the other day. I am blessed to only have to take 4 classes next semester!! How cool is that?? That's only 12 credit hours. I'll be taking Gospels, Advanced Presentation Skills, Processes and Techniques of Counseling, and Social Psychology. And then I'm done with college!! I'm getting more and more turned off to the idea of grad school...I dunno...I really don't want to do more school. We decided that we're going to go to the homecoming banquet this year. It's November 3rd. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to the dinner part, but then my dress ended up fitting me. So, mom fixed the straps and now we're going! We'll be going to Ben's parents' this weekend for the pig roast. Pray for safe travels! We'll be leaving late Friday night. | | |
| How my best friend asked me to marry him!September 22, 2006 was our first date. Ben told me that we were going to celebrate next weekend (the 29th) because it was in between our first date and the day we became an exclusive couple (October 4th, 2006). But he also said that we still needed to do something this weekend since it was our anniversary after all! So he told me that I should just come over for open dorms and he would make me dinner and we'd watch a movie with Phil and Leah (his roommate and his fiance!). Unfortunately, Phil and Leah were not able to join us because Leah had to leave for the weekend. :( Sad day!
So we arrived at gamma and Phil was sitting in the living room watching a football game, so I just went in and sat there and watched the game with him while Ben put the steaks on the grille. Once the food was done cooking, Phil was like "alright, well I'll let you guys watch your movie" and went into his room. So Ben put in The Illusionist (which happened to be the movie that we went to go see on our first date!).
We watched about an hour or so of the movie and then Ben turned to me and whispered in my ear, "I'm gonna marry you." (background info! Ben has said this to me about a hundred times and I tend to respond with "prove it!" and then he says "I can't yet! I haven't gotten a ring or asked your dad!") So, my response to him was (of course) "prove it!" So he grabbed my hands and held them in his and started to tell me all about how much he loves me and how the past year has been amazing and how he can't wait to spend the rest of his life with me! (more background info! Ben has said this to me many times before, so I just thought that he was reassuring me or something.) So, I just said "I love you too!" And then he put his hand in his pocket! (even more background info! Ben has done this before too!! But he usually pulls his hand out empty and says "just kidding!" in a teasing tone.) But...this time, he started to get down on one knee. So, by then, I figured out what was going on! He pulled his hand out of his pocket and was holding the ring he got me! I screamed! (in excitement, of course!) He asked me to marry him, but I honestly don't remember that part at all! I just kept yelling "YES!" over and over again!! Then, his roommate came out of his room and started taking pictures and was the first person to congratulate us!
I'm so excited that God has blessed me with such an amazing man that is on fire for Him! I LOVE YOU, BEN! | | |
| I am graduating from college. Wow! I'm feeling a little sad about that fact. I love college so much! The idea of leaving and having to go out into the workforce full time is scary. I've loved having a Christian environment too. *sigh* I got my senior ring tonight! That was definitely the second highlight of the school year so far. The first is definitely being able to see Ben every day. We're still doing fantastic and learning about each other more and more every day! Can you believe that we've been together 11 months already?! 1 more month and it will be a whole year!! My nephew was born this past summer!! He's the cutest little boy ever! I know that I'm bias since he's my first nephew, but still...he's adorable! Ok...that's about it for the summer...I will attempt to keep this updated for my wonderful grandparents.  | | |
| 6 Days until I get to go to Columbus and see Ben!! YAY! I had no idea that 2 1/2 weeks could seem so long!! My appologies to my grandparents, for not posting for a long time, and also to Shelley and Bethany since I'm never online! My schedule is so limited since I work. Last year it was so much easier to find time to get online and chat with people, but I'm finding that having a boyfriend over the summer is difficult when it comes to time management. I get home from work, get online for about a half hour or less, eat, help out around the house, and then Ben calls and we talk for an hour and a half or so every night...and then I need to be in bed by 10 or 10:30 so I can get up at 6 and be coherent at work! College life is so much easier... Hopefully I will post more often since I don't get the chance to talk to you guys all that much...I love you all! | | |
| Hello everyone! So the past month has been pretty great! I was able to go with Ben to his house in Ohio over Spring Break and was able to spend a ton of time with his family getting to know them. It was fabulous! I hope that we get a chance to go out there again sometime before the semester ends. 6 more weeks until summer. I'm not sure how I feel about that. It's going to be my very last summer break. I'm going to be away from Ben much of the time. *sigh* At least I'll be able to see Bethany every week and my sister every day. Plus, I'll be working with my mom every day at a job that I love. Am I ready to move on after next year? Have I done everything that I can to develop myself and prepare myself for life outside of school where everything is structured for me? Am I able to stand on my own two feet without falling?? AH! Random freakout...I know...but sometimes I just think about these things... | | |
