Thanks to everyone for the congrats and warm wishes. I will keep you posted for sure!
Shew.....so, here I am anyway. I will make my best effort to go back and catch up on blogs but can definetely say that from here forward might be a little easier! However, I am happy to see that so many of you were still able to keep going with your Xanga entries. I feel like I never kept my head out of the fridge and chocolate out of my hands long enough so I don't know where you guys got the willpower!

I'll keep my update short and sweet as to not bore you with the past months boring junk. Christmas, we split the week between Columbus, OH and Chicago. Both places were fun but I was glad to get home to my own bed. Also, I had last week off work to catch up on cleaning and laundry. I needed the time! I have been doing very well in the gym however I have picked up some weight. Part could be because of the holidays but not more than a couple pounds. You see, we found out the day before Thanksgiving that we are going to have a baby so darn it I must eat to feed this child. You don't know how that kills me to have to eat. I mean, it is really torture to ask for the second helping of pie or to eat a grilled cheese sandwich in the middle of the night to fulfill a craving. Darn it....sigh....if I MUST! Okay, for real, I only eat when I am hungry. I try so hard not to tell myself that I "have to because I'm eating for 2". I have done pretty good but in reality it is a little annoying to eat about every two hours (was that out loud?). I never thought I'd hear myself say that but I feel like a grazing cow out in the pasture if you can picture that. Mmmmm, maybe you better now. So, I have no restrictions on me and am in the gym still and live life as normal! I had my first of many ultrasounds (doc says there'll be multiple this time) and saw the heart beating and they say I'm about 10 weeks along. It's hard not to be excited and I feel myself getting a little more nervous the further along I go. But, one day at a time is all I can say. We've got a long way to go! So, okay that's all the news (for real, that's IT?) I have for now so I will let you go and keep you posted. I'm off to do some much needed catchup on your sites! Have a great day!

Tuesday, December 03, 2002

Monday November 25th...I was thankful for a short work week.

Tuesday November 26th...I was thankful to finish my month end work stuff and be able to enjoy a 5 day mini vacation.

Wednesday November 27th...I was thankful for a blessing that I can't mention yet but I was also thankful that Circuit City didn't drop the second tv as they did the first when carrying it down our basement stairs! YOUCH!

Thursday November 28th...I was thankful to be with my family and share a wonderful meal!

I am always thankful for something but don't have to keep going on like this. Thanksgiving Day was the last day I would blog that but may add some in the future here and there. I was in Chicago for a long weekend and did lots of visiting and had a great time. I must've eaten 5000 calories Thursday but it was ALLLL worth it! My Mom made Kevin his own friggin' pie! How does HE rate? Oh well, good day to you all. Back in some kind of normalcy for atleast a couple weeks and then the traveling begins again! Happy shopping to all!

Sunday, November 24, 2002

Once again I have fallen behind but I have been pretty busy with things so I have some kind of excuse. I could say I was vegging in front of the tv and drooling all over myself! So I have to catch up with the things I am thankful for:

Friday the 22nd: I was thankful for yet another Friday and that I successfully completed my months end chores early.

Saturday the 23rd: I was thankful for Kevin's raise and bonus for now I can REALLY go Christmas shopping....but just not on that day.

Sunday the 24th: Today I am thankful to wake up to another day. It's that simple.

So I have some things to do now so I must jet but it's not like I spoke of anything too important. You guys have a great day and stay warm Lube and Kitti. You guys are in some cold states now!

Thursday, November 21, 2002

Let me tell you what's been on my mind the last couple days....

Juicy tender turkey, creamy homemade mound of mashed potatoes, buttered hot corn, yeast rolls fresh out of the oven, green bean casserole, marshmallow loaded sweet potatoes and the best homemade nadivka (you may know it as dressing or stuffing) in the world. ALL of this smothered in the turkey juices made into a delicious gravy. But WAIT...there's more.....

Nice hot cup o' joe with a slice of warm apple pie (does that remind YOU of that time at band camp? hehe) as well as a slice of homemade pecan pie and then later a third slice of pie of the pumpkin (or pumpkin cheesecake) variety topped with a huge dolop of cool whip. All of that of course may come after a nap. Later in the evening I can have myself a turkey sandwich to top it all off!

I sound like a college student that never eats but I cook all the time....I always look forward to Mom's kitchen creations. Mmmm MMM! I think I've gained 5 pounds just thinking about it!

Thursday, November 21, 2002

Today I am thankful that Kevin made it back safely from his business trip!

Wednesday, November 20, 2002

When I was a child I went to church faithfully every Sunday with Mom, Dad and my two brothers. After a while it was Mom, my two brothers and Me. Then, eventually, it ended up just Mom and Me. My Dad got pissed with some politic stuff that was going on in the church so he quit going. My brothers got older, stayed out and partied on Saturday night and then gradually just didn't get up Sunday mornings anymore. Mom and I joined the 5 person choir. Talent wasn't all that great because we had slim pickings to begin with so when 85 year old Elma wanted to be the lead soprano, well, you didn't argue. So along with that I started teaching Sunday School (preschool level...just lots of coloring and stuff) and was pretty involved. Then things in my own life started changing. I was bowling (yes I said BOWLING) in 3 different leagues and one of them was a traveling league on Sunday. This gradually cut away at my church time until it was, like, once a month. I moved down here to KY and now don't go except for baptisms, funerals and weddings. This is no reflection on Kevin though....you see from the pattern that this is coming.

Where I'm going with this:

I don't like church now and I haven't since Pastor Beer (doesn't that name rule??) retired. He was lively and loud and gave his sermons with alot of feeling. The way I look at it is that I want something like what Ed Norton or Ben Stiller deliver in Keeping The Faith. I don't enjoy church so why do something I don't enjoy? Why sit there just to say I was physically there? It's not like I'm fooling God. Awww yeah scorin' points wit the big dawg if I b hangin in is crib! Uh...NO! Now I know that if we ever have children we know we have to start going to church again for the kid's sake. Until then, God knows I believe. I don't need to be in His house to tell Him that or to talk to Him. I talk to Him every day which is something I neglected to do for a long time. I haven't become some holy roller or nothing but I'll tell you this. Since I talk to him on an almost daily basis I feel at peace with alot of things that have happened in my life. I have learned to appreciate alot that I have overlooked and taken for granted. If certain things don't go Kevin's or My way then it's just not in the cards and we take a different path. I have learned not to stress over silly things that happen and pay more attention to the big picture. It's amazing what realizations (sp) have come to me in this past year.

I can't quote scriptures or answer a bunch of bible trivia but I do know that God's okay with that. Anybody can do that. You can beat your wife, rob your company and kick your dog (that one's for you Barry) and THEN sit in church with the best of them and pray just because it's what you are supposed to do and somehow you think that scores you brownie points with the Chief. I know He hasn't put me on mute just because I don't talk to Him in the presence of pretty stained glass, long wooden benches, psalms or 85 year old ladies screaching the High C. It's all material. I have the psalms and pretty glass in my head and my heart. It's all about the big picture. Step outside yourself once in a while and look it.
