| Whoops. . . It's been awhileDang. It's been awhile since I updated, hasn't it? Weelllllll in that time slot I've. . . - Worked 12 hour days at church getting stuff ready for VBS
- Eaten the -best- pizza of my life at Magpies
- Done administrative things like staff rosters, meetings, phone calls, etc.
- Eaten the best gelato (and most expensive; holy crap!) at Frost
- . . . . looked at apartments?
Yeah. My friend Sarah and I looked at apartments. It was my mum's idea actually. She suggested we go look at some and at first I thought she was crazy, but then rationale set in and I figured if I move out here I'm not going to have a chance to look around inside until I'm back out here, so I should check out apartments I like for then. So we did. The first one was at Catalina Canyon, and while the price is glorious ($700 for a 910 sq. ft apt.) it's 1) super small, and 2) the bedrooms are both distinctly different sizes. Which I personally wouldn't feel right having such vastly different size bedrooms; it doesn't seem fair. The next place we checked out was Centrepoint Apartments, and it was -amazing-. It had a washer/dryer in the apt, was 1015 sq. ft. or so, had same size bedrooms, 2 pools, fitness center, GRASS!!!!!!, and you can paint the walls any color you want as long as you paint them back when you leave. It is $850 though, but that includes everything except electricity. And internet. And we probably wouldn't get cable; barely watch TV anyway. I still love Arizona. Monsoon season has started so there'll be like 20 minutes of a torrential downpour, and then the sun's back out. There's seriously nothing like the sunsets here. . . They're just stunning, and the colors. . . Phew. God certainly doesn't hold anything back. ;) Oh so sidenote, apparently there are these things here called "javelina" (pronounced: ha-va-lee-nuh) that are wild pigs that just kinda run around. And they apparently smell attrocious. And I've nicknamed them "pig rats" because supposedly, despite looking like pigs and smelling like them too, they're part of the rodent family. Ew ew ew ew. I have yet to see one. But I did see a tumbleweed!!! It was going across the street; it was cool looking. :o) I think that's part of Arizona's appeal to me. It's something so completely different from what I'm used to and it's always just so neat. I've never fallen so hard for a place as I have for here. Which is why leaving so soon will be so hard. . . Ugh I'm not looking forward to it. Although I'm kinda hoping my parents and I can leave the 12th so we can drive up to the Grand Canyon & Sedona. I hope. I wanted to go to Phoenix on Saturday, but there's so much more for VBS I have to do that I just can't. Which sucks. It's my last free Saturday here like without my parents or packing, and I have to work. Laaaaaame. Whatever we got a lot done so I'm happy. As for VBS? It's going well, although I wish I could be in the room working right now, but there's Celebrate Recovery (and addiction/substance abuse/abuse support group type thing) in the room I've been using right now, so I can't. LAME. It's ok though. God is good, I have people coming on Sunday to help decorate, and there's about 50 kids. So I really can't complain, I just hope everything goes well. Please God, let it go well. Oi. Pray for me. I'm still thinking about the whole "move to AZ" thing, even though I did go look at apartments. But I think it says quite a bit that I am looking at apartments, I do have a peace about being here, and I haven't heard a "no" or any type of "no." I have a year to work things out, and they have a year to open the position I want. Please please pray with me for God's will, not mine. |
