| More Corruption at...you guessed it. The UN.
The New York Sun has an excellent article
detailing the latest grievance in the train of abuses by the UN and
also documents the past history of the corruption of the Oil for Food
program.
I have never been a big fan of the UN. And the UN has never been a big fan of me. That's right, me the individual.
It seems to me the only individuals they are about are ist and
individual ists harboring nations. This latest
"scandal" within a scandal, of Kojo Annan recieving payments from the
Oil for Food program is sickening. Not that I the Annan
family, the fact that anyone is recieving money illegaly and
dishonestly disturbs me. A US lawmaker who's name I cannot recall
suggested the US withhold a certain percentage of it's funding of the
UN until the organization can full account for the scandalous Oil for
Food program. I saw we withhold all funding of the corrupt
organization until they not only make full account of the entire oil
for food program, AND fire all supervisors who were
responsible.
The sorry state of affairs is that the UN is a necessary evil. I
can't say if it will ever fall apart. Nothing is going to change
of someone doesn't take decisive action. I think the if the US
seriously threatens and actually follows through on the threat to
withhold it's funding other than there being a lot of ticked off people
in the world, the organization is going to change very
quickly. If they don't like it, our friends the french, and
the syrians can increase their "donations" to the League of Nations 2.0
.

| Happy Thanksgiving all! It snowed six inches last night and our property is a beautiful sight.
Hello friends, here's more news from the front lines of the culture
war, except this time in Europe. Christians have finally
decided they want some sort of recognition of the continent's heritage
inscribed in the EU constitution.
The current version of the preamble eschews Christianity, talking
vaguely of "the cultural, religious and humanist inheritance of
Europe". Now, those Christians could have spoken sooner I guess
but oh well, we'll see if a battle is going ensue. I think by
this time the Europeans are so sick of fighting over the constitution
of the EU they're either going to change it without a fight or will not
hear any appeal at all. I wonder, would the Europeans ever
be so honest as to state the anti-semitism that has existed there for
1000 years? From the black plague to the world wars and the
french schools it's prevailent.
Have a most excellent Thanksgiving!
