Well it is looking more final

So I got my "Grant Score" from the NIH yesterday.
It is a sad day as I will be out of Job here in August.
On the up though I do have an interview in Houston.
Would value your thoughts and prayers.

Thoughts

I read a very interesting post today and think the comments may stir in a few of you

"often the most difficult challenge to fulfill is not the large sacrifice or the spectacukar risk but the steady obedience of listening to him, seeking first his kingdom and walking through the ups and downs of everyday life"
This is so true and i cant help but keep dweling on it.
How much time do i waste worring about the 'big decesions' preventing me from living out the walk in the here and now

Leaving Houston

As many of you know my Job has been less than secure in Houston for the past 6 months with my boss suggesting that I find a job elsewhere.
We have recently traveled to Milwaukee and Toronto to look at houses and I have second interviews.
The strangest thing has happened over the past 2 weeks.
My boss is not looking to make me leave at the moment. My grant funding has come through for this academic year.
Although Milwaukee will probably offer everything I had been asking for it did not feel right.
Toronto have changed the timetable for a new post start date pushing it back about a year.
Independently we have felt a real sense that at least for now we need to stay put here and invest in the things God has given us to do.
Sorry, I guess you are stuck with us!

Long Days and a chance to think

Well, today has been a long day.

I went to the Dr with George. The Dr's receptionist couldn't find the paperwork so we were left sitting in the waiting room (from 730-830) whilst the Dr was left sitting in the patient room waiting for us unitll they decided to check the fax machine for the fax.  It was interesting to realize how much more patient I have become over the years. It is also amazing how good george was.  He loved having one on one time with daddy!

George was very brave at the doctor.  He was also very interested in the 'hole in my arm' where the blood came from.  He was amazingly unconcerned as he was stuck with the needly though.

I then went to work.  Some helpful soul had decided to 'tidy up' a project I had spent all of yesterday working on before I got in.

At this point I gave up and went to the Zoo for an hour with the family as I was in no mood to work and my plan for the rest of the day was shot.

I then went to a meeting to discuss a complex mathematical problem with a statastician.  My suspician was proved - a project we have been working on does not have enough people enrolled to give us an answer.

The good news is that it is not my main project.

I am very happy to report that God and my wife both still love me and that I am going to heaven.

It is interesting how these things often happen on one day.

This afternoon I have been thinking a lot about God's faithfulness throughout all of lifes minor and major stresses. I am glad that He is there and faithful.
I hope that you do to. If not can I suggest that you find a community of believers that can be there for you and show you a God who is alway faithful.
